Have tennis elbow and needed these to keep lifting without gripping. They’re padded comfortable and really work. Now I don’t think they make performance difference but help me to keep going with my injury and good for hands and not getting hard spots from gripping bars and dumbbells.

What an excellent piece of kit. Having not trained with weights in many years I have recently returned to it with sone dedication, and have found it a shock to see what I have lost, over the years, in terms of strength. But one of the more shocking things was my grip strength, so for example as my the weight of my deadlifts improved (and my Romanian deadlifts in particular) I found that the reasons for approaching 'failure' were not my major muscle groups, but it was my actual grip on the bar was becoming a problem. This simple strapping and its integral metal hook has meant that I can concerate on my form rather than on whether or not I can hold the weight, especially during RDLs. I am lifting much heavier now without my grip letting me down. (it also helps with shrugs using my heavy dumbells as well). £-for-£ this is by far my best purchase to date for my home gym.

I’ve bought these to help with my dead hangs as it’s my grip that lets me down and they’ve made an immediate difference ,they seem to be a great piece of kit all around can’t wait to see how much help I’ll get from them going forward

For the price point, it's an excellent grab for the casual or frequent gym goer. It's steel hooks, padding and nylon straps are heavy duty and are rated for max weight of 200-230kg which is decent. This might not apply If you're a pro power lifter, so i'd recommend you go for a model with a higher weight capacity. Since purchasing the gear i haven't noticed many instances of discomfort or irritation. Initially there would be, but as i've learnt through experience now, that's the result of either: 1. Not securing the strap properly 2. Pushing a weight beyond what i could currently handle and 3. Compromising form to handle said weight. Even the hooks edges; which i thought would dig into my wrist haven't done so. They're well rounded off and I haven't had an issue in the 5 years I've owned the product. My only gripe would be that the hooks are designed for a medium to large sized male hand so if you're a woman this might not be for you. Overall if your looking for an affordable piece of kit that'll let you push harder and longer when your grip and wrists fail, its a worthwhile investment and for me its an item that never leaves my gym bag.

I was expecting a lot from this product but sadly they are a slight let down. The hooks are strong and sturdy with a good solid connection to the wrist strap. This makes the RDX gym hooks great for all types of shrugging exercises. That's where the good news ends. I tried lat pulls downs and wide/close pull ups using this product but they just seem so uncomfortable when using medium to heavy weight. My hands seemed to always be at an awkward, unnatural angle during every movement and the wrist strap can pinch next to the buckle. In the end I took them off and finished my workout bare-handed. If you purely need help with shrugging exercise then I WOULD recommend at this price. Any other exercise may take a little getting used to.

Decent,was waking up with clamped in fingers after dead lifts,they fit good takes the stress of hands,can also lift heavier & easy to change plates & use phone without having to remove the hooks !!

Straight out of the box and the paint from the hook is already coming off revealing the metal being completely rusty. Not sure if this was a faulty product or all of them are like this, but I wouldn’t trust its strength like this. Definitely sending back for refund.

I have arthritis in my hands and the only way I can lift or do pull downs is with the help of this it takes all the strain off my wrist and hands

Good quality, comfortable to wear, with only downside if you have small hands then you won’t be able to use it for bar deadlifts (works for dumbbells though)

I have used metal lifting hooks for many years, essential in exercises where weak wrists limit the amount of weight or number of reps I can handle. I switched to this brand recently as my previous brand markedly inflated their prices. Very similar design and materials to the overpriced brand. Works well. Neoprene is comfortable, velcro straps hold well. It is a single wide hook on each hand, less chance of pinching a finger as compared to the brands with a pair of hooks on each hand. The solid construction does mean each unit is a little heavier than the double hook brands.
