I have had a lot of trouble finding a keyboard I like because they all lack in one way or another. My only hang up with Razer keyboards for a long time is you had to have Synapse running all the time to control the lighting. I don't mind having to use synapse to initially setup the devices but it should allow you to close the application right after. I can say to everyone this keyboard allows control of profiles and the lighting right on the keyboard with the FN combination keys. The switches feel great and are VERY quiet and responsive. The keycaps are extremely high quality and the top plate is metal so the keyboard is solid. It also comes with a very comfortable wrist rest. This keyboard is awesome and hits all the check boxes for me. And I no longer have to run synapse. For those who are curious, using FN + CTRL + (Number 1-4) you can change the color profile of the keyboard without synapse. You can setup several profiles on device memory and have one profile with gaming mode and typing mode with an added debounce delay so you don't misstype with the linear keys. FN + Menu Key changes profiles with no synapse. Additionally this keyboard has 8000hz polling which is awesome. This keyboard is a win, I will be buying a second one for work.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have a Razer mouse that I love and I thought I'd try the keyboard. It's very nice and it is very sensitive so it's taking me a bit to get used to not hitting the keys more than once. Much like the transition from a standard typewriter to electric back in the early 80s. It's much easier to clean than my old keyboard too. Each key can be lifted off and cleaned plus I can brush right under each one daily for a good dusting. I don't miss the number pad as I never used it much. I suppose a coder would need that but I'm just gaming. The best part of it is that it's pink and just beautiful!

This has been an excellent keyboard for my new desktop PC build. It is very comfortable, quiet and the keys are well-lit and easy to customize. I found the wrist rest would not stay properly in place relative to the keyboard, but I fixed that by applying a velcro strips to the front of the keyboard and the rear of the wrist rest.

I got this specifically for the Gen 2 optical linear switches. They feel great for a stock keyboard switch and they actually make the keyboard pretty quiet compared to other mechanical switches I've used in the past (cherry blue, brown, black). Overall the keyboard is great and exactly what you expect. The only major downside (and this one is a pretty annoying downside) is that there is ZERO RGB effect control from the keyboard itself. It will only do the default color cycle unless you install Razer software on your PC. AFAIK it's the only keyboard that's like this. If you get literally ANY other RGB keyboard like keychron or whatever, it's controlled from the keyboard through the hardware itself instead of through software. This means you probably can't control it on Linux which is really annoying.

TKL is the perfect size for gaming especially FPS games that I play like Valorant where you need more mouse space, but don't want to lose the arrow and navigation keys (for programming, GTA V, or other uses). This is a great TKL linear keyboard, however since it uses optical switches, the keys are very sensitive and take some getting used to. I miss press keys on accident while typing a lot and it is a little too sensitive for me. The build quality, RGB, and key caps are SUPERB. The double shot PBT keycaps make it feel premium and like it will last a long time. The linear optical mechanical switches when typing are not too loud and are very satisfying to the ears that I like since I don't like that loud sounds of clicky switches. If you're on a budget and can take getting used to the very sensitive keys, I would recommend this keyboard. They added more features in the newer versions that are still TKL but include extra function buttons and a volume scroll wheel which is nice. I do wish the switches were hot-swappable like the Logitech G Pro x Superlite. I also wish the newer versions of this Huntsman were the same affordable price for a decent keyboard like this current one.

I originally got this Razer keyboard (linear optical as a secondary compliment to a Logitech G915 TKL wireless/wired keyboard, since the G915 TKL is thinner. But the more I got used to this Razer keyboard, the less I wanted to use the G915 because of how responsive the Razer keyboard is. According to RTINGS, the input latency (which is the time it takes for a keystroke to be registered) between both G915 and Razer Huntsman v2 keyboards are as follows: G915: Latency Wired 1.3 ms Latency Receiver 1.9 ms Latency Bluetooth 8.9 ms Razer Huntsman v2: Latency Wired 0.5 ms Latency Receiver N/A Latency Bluetooth N/A The 0.5 ms is definitely noticeable, especially when you set the Keyswitch Optimization to "gaming mode" within the Razer Synapse software, which removes the "button debounce". The alternative mode to gaming mode is called "Typing mode" which introduces a debounce delay to prevent extra inputs from being registered (to prevent typos). I use it with 1000hz polling rate. Anything higher like the advertized 8000hz is not really necessary, especially the extra load that the CPU will experience at that level. You may have a few typos as you get used to the feel of the key presses, but once you lock it in, it is going to be very hard to go back to any other keyboard except this. I also use it without the wrist rest just fine while on a Uplift desk. With a wrist-rest, it's fine also, but I don't like the idea of having to constantly reposition the wrist rest whenever I move the keyboard, since it's not attached. Overall, if you want a competitive edge, with PBT keys that last, with a TKL form-factor, with an optional wrist-rest, don't hesitate to buy this. Download and install Razer Synapse so you can configure the keyboard.

I already liked it Initially. The other review was correct in that this keyboard is QUIET. Even bottoming out the press is fairly silent for a mechanical kb. I did not love the stiffness of the keypress at first coming from a corsair k60 pro optical (basically speed silvers) but I've already gotten used to it after a day or 2. They feel kinda like cherry blacks. The textured keys are nice and the build in stabs are pretty good too. No rattle or obscene amount of wobble here. The key stems are actually almost an individual block underneath which makes all the keys are stable. I put my own textured wasd on cause it helps me stay oriented but the stock caps are good. Long time corsair junkie. This keyboard on sale is a steal with the 8k polling rate and general feel. I bought this cause my k60 kept disconnecting constantly despite being a wired kb.

I've used a lot of membrane keyboards over the years, and my last keyboard was a mechanical Razer Blackwidow (v2 I think). I am not a clicky keyboard person. So I got this keyboard instead after giving the noisy one an honest try for a couple years. This one has the silent optical switches. The experience is like night and day. The actuation on these keys is so smooth, very low, and comparatively very quiet. Even compared to the previous Huntsman TE (which my father owns) I can hear, and feel the difference. The keyboard itself has a nice weight to it, and feels very solid (just don't shake it). My one complaint is that sometimes the keys can feel a little squeaky, like they're not lubed enough, and it's pushing air out of the switches. One side note, is that currently on Linux the LED lights don't work. The opensource software hasn't been updated for it yet, though it is almost finished, the bulk of the work has been done. So soon enough this will be fixed. On windows however, it works right out of the box. Absolutely fantastic keyboard. I would say that the price is way too high. I don't mind to spend the money on a solid keyboard for gaming, because I use it a lot. I've worn through the keycaps many times, and I know these Razer keycaps don't wear out. For me it's worth it, but it's still over priced. You could probably get a similar feeling keyboard for cheaper, but then you're not getting a Razer, and probably not a Synapse compatible keyboard. You need to weigh those things for yourself, and decide what's import to you.

Keyboard is good, silent as desired and fast for gaming. keys might be packed tight for size but overall a good light keyboard. My only issue was a tiny white dent in the keyboard which really put me off evetime I see it. Product was sealed and it must have come like that from the manufacturer. That's why I am giving it a lower rating since a product that is that expensive should have better quality control!
