When our original Samsung remote control failed, we purchased this identical twin pack of remote controls for our TV. Like the original remote control, they did not last long. Too many functions per key. TV quickly refused to operate properly even with new batteries. We took a chance and purchased a BN59-01199F Samsung remote control based on customer reviews. Wow! What a difference! Our new remote control is superior to the original in every way. Works perfectly right out of the package with no programming. Each key has a single purpose. The new remote control even operates our aging DVD Player. We purchased a second BN59-01199F the next day.

At first I was pleasantly surprised. Just put in batteries and started using. Within just a few days, the TV would not respond to some of the buttons. I am not going to return because it was cheap for a two pack. It looks good, but you have to push the buttons harder and harder to get the signal to go. I will just ride this one out then use the second one, and then go with a different brand.

Update: I am giving up on this thing. It doesn't work most of the time. It opens nothing and says it can't recognize my voice or gives some other excuse for doing nothing, or it simply does nothing. Initially, it worked sometimes with alot of fussing, now pretty much not at all. I am returning it and lowering the stars to 1. BTW, this is not an LG remote as I had supposed from the ad, but some sort of knock off.. ........ Original review This remote control is a huge disappointment. I got this for a woman who is losing her sight. She needs something simple with the ability to voice control her very large smart TV. This is not it. It is very complicated and works sporadically. It pretty much requires the ability to be able to see the screen. Even with normal eyesight, I can't see the print in the little side panel this huge TV brings up on an internet search. It is very hard to point the curser at the TV and hold it steady enough to actually click on anything you want to open, either in the TV settings or online. Trying to use this remote to search the internet is really impractical, and I had to switch to my phone to get information. I still have not been able to figure out how to get this remote to do the simple task of changing the channels. While there are numbers on the remote, but they are for presets, which would be another big chore to figure out how to set. It won't switch to say, channel three if you say channel 3 into the remote for example. If you ask for CNN, it will open that. (Actually not, it turns out. Doesn't work most of the time.) If you ask for a particular movie, it usually brings up several to chose from, usually not the one I asked for, and will not open them. If this remote works, it has a huge learning curve to get it to do anything, which is not what I wanted for an elderly tec phobic woman. The voice control takes commands work maybe half the time. Sometimes the screen just goes dark. There is a big lag between when one pushes the microphone, and when there is a beep to indicate it is recording. It frequently responds that it cannot find any information the first few times one asks it a simple question or to do a simple task. Unfortunately, this is the only way to use the voice control features on the LG internet TV. It has no built in mic. So far after several long sessions of using this remote, it appears less practical than a regular remote even for someone with normal sight. However, to a sighted person wants to open things on the internet to play on the TV, this might be marginally more practical than bringing up the internal keyboard and scrolling through the alphabet one letter at a time, apparently the only other option. I am shocked that LG can't do something better. Don't they make phones? How can they not make a voice remote that works better than this to connect to their own TV? I wish someone had been able to test this feature before buying this TV. (The magic remote does not come with the TV.) I have not yet decided whether to return this expensive remote. It does have some limited utility, which is why I gave it 2 stars rather than 1. (Actually, I have changed my mind. This remote does not work at all most of the time to do anything at all. See update. I am returning it.)

Both remotes I received. DONT WORK WELL. The round buttons have issues. The response is not perfect and you have to press hard or over and over. The first remote up button doesn't work well. The second one, the right arrow button doesn't work well either. Have to press multiple times causing you to over shoot the intended channels you want. Frustrating. Just want a remote to work like it's intended to. I would not buy these 2 remotes again & Don't recommend. Get a better quality remote.

I have gone through both of these cheap remotes in less than 6 months. They are simply worthless. If you drop on the floor the case comes apart with batteries shooting all over the floor. The button functionality gets worse and worse over time. I purchased another OEM remote to compare because I thought I was going crazy. The OEM remote was FAR, FAR superior and every single push resulted in, well a result. Very often with these remotes I have to push a button several times and hard for something to happen. I don't know why these have a high review other than they work well at the very beginning then after a short period of time they wear out quickly. I DO NOT recommend these to anyone.

I made the mistake to not return this product before my 30 days were up on returning it. The batteries come loose in this cheap remote, so you need to open the back and put the batteries back in to get them tight and working again. It does work with my samsung tv. But who wants a remote where you need to fix the batteries because it's so cheaply made.

Wow, what a piece of junk. Possibly the worst remote ever made. There is NO stop,ffw,rew,or play buttons. This means you must use arrows/OK button for everything. This becomes a major hassle when 90% of the time you press the OK button, it turns the pointer on, instantly ruining whatever you're doing and making it unnecessarily difficult. Just want to unpause a show? Hit OK to see the in screen options then hit OK again on play. Every time. Want to pause? Two clicks. This is assuming it doesnt turn the awful pointer on. Don't buy it. Buy the cheap 2 pack of normal remotes for less than $10. These are nothing but frustrating. Yet another company caring more about a tech sounding cool than actually being functional and useful.

I had high hopes at first. I put batteries in, pointed the remote at the TV and it worked immediately. Then I realized only certain buttons control the TV. The volume buttons don’t work at all. The direct access buttons don’t work at all. The remote that came with my Samsung TV no longer holds charge so I need a replacement. But this one ain’t it!

I purchased this TV remote from Amazon for Rs. 2,000 on 3rd August 2023, and now I am extremely disappointed. The battery compartment is corroded and damaged, rendering the remote completely unusable even though it's only not even a year old. It’s clear that no proper quality check was done. I’ve attached a photo to show the extent of the damage. This experience has been very frustrating, and I am now seeking a refund or replacement. I would not recommend this product based on my experience

It’s smaller and neater than the one it replaces. It works all I need it to work. The buttons are clearly marked. It was reasonably priced. Much cheaper than an exact replacement. I’m happy with my purchase.
