*****Perfect for interval training,*****
Excellent piece of kit. Took a little bit of time understanding the set up, but once mastered, flew through the interval timings that I wanted and began HIIT. For those who do interval training, it's essential to concentrate on the form of your exercises and then let the gymboss do the timings automatically. Cons: the initial set up can be time consuming and fidly, but gymboss website and YouTube helps. Pros: perfect for people who interval train. Small enough to carry or wear. Loud enough to alert next interval. Multiple settings for more complex intervals. I would recommend it.

Indestructible?
"What could be making all that noise in the tumble-dryer?" I thought. "S***"!!" I remarked, as it dawned on me that it was my fairly pricey new interval timer. Not only had I dried my timer at 40 degrees for 90 minutes, I had also given it a nice wash for 3 hours on the stains cycle. Still, I fished it out, let the battery cool down and it worked as good as new! I was very pleased. It is also an excellent timer. The mild complexity of programming it is worth it. It's especially good for helping you keep fit in parks, hotel rooms, beaches etc when you're away from your base.

Excellent product
Excellent product!! I have purchased the standard Gymboss previously (twice actually! Lost one, dropped a weight bench on the other!!), which is also excellent but the extra intervals and setup menus are worth the extra cost. I use it in the gym for interval training where you can set it up so you have the working time recorded and the rest time. The sound is loud enough for use in the gym with music on, plus the vibration feature is handy if you have your earphones on. The armband is handy as an extra but not essential as the belt clip works pretty well. I have read some reviews where there have been issues with the belt clip but I can only assume these are one offs or earlier models as I have had no issues with the two I have owned. One other thing I use it for is to make sure I am drinking enough water whilst at work. I just set it to vibrate only and keep it in my pocket. I would definitely recommend this product.

Great timer for intervals
Easy to use. Easy to set up for interval timing such as jeffing. I have set up 3 different interval settings and it is easy to switch between them. Clip is great, I either clip it onto my fitbit strap so I can see it or I clip it to my bra strap. Perfect little timer.

Old version better
Prefer the old version. This one is fiddly and slow to respond. Having to hold the buttons for a longer than necessary is annoying, in addition, the buttons are sometimes hard to engage, thus takes even longer to make it respond

Very poor display and difficult to navigate
The display is not very clear and some words cannot be read, MENU for instance! The instructions are very poor and it is difficult to work out which buttons do what. That problem is made worse by the fact that you cannot read the display! You'll need excellent eyesight or very strong glasses to read the instructions. Overall, it is a very basic unit but should be ok for basic interval stuff. I'd not have bought it had I known the above in advance and I would not recommend it, to anyone.

Great timer
Great timer. I use it all the time. Can't see how I worked out properly without. With this I am not dependent on the gym clock and can do my own round times. This is also great for my conditioning routine. UPDATE I'm updating my review to state that while this product is good it does breakdown a lot. For whatever reason the one I bought on the 13th of July 2021 is now not showing the numbers properly and even when I do get one of my pre set timers it doesn't work. Seems every 2 years I have to buy a new one

but there's nothing quite like it - I especially like it for timing stretching ...
I have been using the 1st/simpler version of the Gymboss for years - seems simple, but there's nothing quite like it - I especially like it for timing stretching routine but also for all sorts of timed exercises. This new version is an improvement because I can now save a whole series of interval programs rather than having to reset the Gymboss each time I want to use a new interval setting (I time different kinds of intervals every day!). As a user of the 1st gymboss, I found this more complex version a bit tricky to program at first - there is a new SET button between the arrow buttons on the top - easy to miss this button because the button strip is all the same colour and it does not look like a button. However once the people at Gymboss told me where to find the SET button (which gives you access to a new menu system that the old gymboss does not have) it is easy enough to set up. Actually, setting it up does take a bit of learning, but it's worth the effort and once learned it's easy. Thanks for the upgrade Gymboss.

Perfecto
It's great for working out, you can program you own intervals, warm-up, exercices, rest, water break, cool down, stretch and so on.

How to delete intervals on this device - not intuitive!
I love this interval timer, but it was an absolute chore to figure out how to change a saved program once I had entered it and then later changed my mind and wanted to update it and save again. I asked the question here on Amazon and no one responded, so I'm assuming nobody else has needed to do this (or has figured it out). The instructions indicate you should just go into your saved program, change it to however you want it, and then save it. But it's not that simple, and I exchanged at least a dozen emails or more with the company before realizing how I needed to change it. They were responsive about answering my question in a timely way, but their responses didn't clear up the confusion. So after a bunch of emailing, I had pretty much given up on being able to change an existing saved program. And there is only room on the device for about 20 different saved programs, so you wouldn't want to have to keep creating new ones as you changed your mind about a workout. So here are the details of what I needed to do and how I did it: Let's say you have saved a workout in the Multi category and it has 7 different intervals. Then you change your mind and want to eliminate interval 4 so you'll only have 6 intervals. You can't go into the saved workout and delete interval 4. There is no delete option on this device. Also, the device won't let you set interval 4 to last zero seconds. I tried that and the minimum number of seconds it will allow is 2 seconds. So I thought the best I could do is have a bogus interval 4 that lasted 2 seconds which I would have to ignore. The critical piece of missing information that nobody mentions is that you have to go into the saved workout and RE-ENTER EACH INTERVAL FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END. If you re-enter each interval, you can make intervals 1, 2, and 3 the way you want them, then you make interval 4 look like the old interval 5 looked, and you make interval 5 look like the old 6 looked, and the final interval CAN be brought down to zero seconds. And then you can save it that way and you have essentially deleted interval 4. When you re-save a workout, it overlays the previous version of that workout, so you won't be wasting one of your 20 on a useless workout. I guess I could have rated this unit less than 5 stars because of the terrible instructions and the less-than-helpful email responses, but the unit itself is really great. So I decided to rate it based on that instead. And as others have said here, be sure to print the official instructions you can get from the gymboss website rather than trying to use the terrible instructions that will ship with the unit. Armed with the official instructions and the information I listed above, you should be able to figure out how to enter and update some great workout interval programs.
