The filter fitted fine but it took a fair bit of research to confirm that it would. In the end I found the Ford part number and then used the cross reference chart on the K&N website. I did not buy this for any performance improvements but for the ease of maintenance and cost savings. Even OEM filters for the car cost around 16 pounds so after just 2 replacements you break even on the cost of this filter. Also the filters are of much better quality and unlikely to fail like the cheaper paper ones. I always fit K&N filters to my bikes and cars for these reasons and have always been happy with them. As to improved fuel consumption and performance these may well improve a bit but only if the original filter wasn't flowing as much air as the car needed. I have noticed a small difference over the OEM filter but very little over the original that was fitted. But this is on a 68hp diesel bought for economy, not performance. So this filter can perk your car up if the original filter was bad or dirty, but its better to think of the main benefits being better quality, longer life and less frequent maintenance.
