Berkley Big Game Casting, 6'6"

Everyone in my area only carries the spincaster, so I ordered my baitcaster here. Very strong rod considering the price. It's difficult to find a medium/heavy rod at this price point. The weak point is the plastic reel seat but, so far no problems with it breaking. No problems pulling in 20lb plus Channel Cats and Carp. Can barely reach eighty yards when casting 3oz but, that is about what I'd expect from a short baitcasting rod. Tip not protected during shipping, so I am amazed it arrived in perfect condition. Seller really should protect tip better for shipping.

Brought in 12 blackfin tuna and 10 vermillion snappers as pictured. Hooked a few larger tuna but didn't get them in the boat. My 80 pound braided line broke. But the pole was bent almost in 2 and held up. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the reel screw worked its way loose and I had to tighten it periodically. I would hate for it to loosen enough that the reel falls off while trying to land a big fish. But for the price, you can't beat this rod.

I have bought several of these rods and very satisfied with the quality. I have had two that were broke at the tip during delivery is why I rate the product at 4 stars. I will continue to buy the berkly big game rods as needed

I have to return this. It is badly scratched from shipping. Still gave it a good look and I really like it. I’ll be exchanging it for another one. Hopefully this one will make it. It did not come in a box only a plastic sleeve and glass near the top is badly scratched up. More than can be trusted.

This thing is pretty heavy, but it works very well for casting a Deeper Pro. If you're using the Deeper phone holder, the rod handle works very well because it's thick for those bands to wrap around. One guide on the rod isn't perfectly aligned, but it shouldn't affect casting ability. It's just a function of quality control, but for $21, I don't expect a lot of quality control. The fiberglass blank loads nicely for the heavy 2.5oz Deeper, no worries about snapping the blank.
