Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey 70 cl

As a long time fan of Jack Daniel's, there was no question about what I would buy for my Dad for Christmas. Originally I was going to get the Silver Select bottle but as the cheapest rocketed by £15 in the run up to the holiday season I decided to go for something a little less painful on the wallet.Presented in a gorgeously designed new bottle with a cork stopper and beautifully done label, this is Jack at it's best. Each bottle comes from a barrel that is unique. It could be the way it's stored, where the barrel is kept, how long it matures, or even the ingredients, so no two barrels are alike. Around the stopper is the details of which barrel your bottle came from along with the date it was bottled.Inside, the golden-brown liquid is slightly lighter in shade than a standard bottle of Jack, and although it's not open yet, I am looking forward to smelling or maybe even tasting it on the big day.It may be a lot more expensive than a normal bottle of Jack Daniel's, but if it is a gift for someone special in your family and they appreciate good whisky, it is certainly worth the extra cash. I will update the review if I get a chance to taste it.

Bought as a Xmas present.Arrived quickly & was well packaged. Comes w/out a JD box in an attractive bottle exactly as pictured.Good value as slightly less than supermarket prices but delivered.

Nice tasting, smooth. Doesn’t burn the throat like the original JD.Not the cheapest so only purchase when on offer but lasts ages and have repeat purchases many times.

Smooth, rich, and full of flavour. Caramel, vanilla, and oak with a warm, satisfying finish. A big step up from standard Jack Daniel’s and perfect for sipping neat. Well worth it!

I will write it as I have in my trusty Whisk(e)y Tasting Notebook :Eye : A strong, dark orangey brown.Nose : Strong alcohol to begin with, then the ‘Traditional’ JD, smoky smell that you get from the standard JD and Gentlemen Jacks’. A bit of toffee, possibly caramel and a little bit of citrus coming through as well.Palate : Bitter and very smoky to start, then a very nice sweetness akin to toffee again coming through.Finish : Warm, sweet lingering charcoal.Overall : Retains that signature Jack Daniel charcoal sweetness, but ditches the excess smoke for more sweetness to form a more balanced and tastier whisky. Bright fruit and spice as well.A great whisky for the price, definitely tastes like a higher drawer JD (which it is). One of the finest USA whiskies I’ve ever had, although the strong alcohol and smoke might put some off.

Besonders die Nuancen von dunklen Kirschen verleihen ihm eine Fruchtigkeit, die man beim normalen Tennessee Whiskey oft vermisst. Mit 45 % Vol. hat er genug „Wumms“, um die Aromen präzise auf die Zunge zu bringen, ohne dabei unangenehm zu brennen.Hilfreiche Tipps für den Genuss:Diesen Whiskey sollte man sich definitiv pur gönnen. Ein klassischer Tumbler funktioniert gut, aber in einem bauchigen Nosing-Glas kommen die schweren Eichen- und Kirscharomen noch besser zur Geltung. Wenn er pur zu kräftig erscheint, bewirkt ein winziger Schuss zimmerwarmes, stilles Wasser oft Wunder: Es bricht die Oberflächenspannung und setzt die versteckten Vanillenoten frei. Wer ihn verschenken möchte, liegt hier goldrichtig – die schwere Flasche und die individuelle Fassnummer auf dem Etikett unterstreichen den Premium-Anspruch sofort.Fazit:Der Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select ist ein absolutes Muss für Fans der Marke und ein toller Einstieg in die Welt der Premium-Whiskeys. Man bekommt hier viel Charakter und Qualität für sein Geld, was ihn zu einem erstklassigen Geschenk für sich selbst oder andere macht. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die einen echten Charakterkopf im Glas schätzen.

Excellent whisky, très agréable à déguster. Une belle richesse aromatique, beaucoup de caractère tout en restant équilibré. Pour moi, l’un des meilleurs Jack Daniel’s que j’ai goûtés. Je recommande sans hésiter !

Riquísimo bourbon que no quiere ser bourbon. Sabor intenso con gusto a chocolate oscuro, de más intensidad en sabor y alcohol que el JD No. 7. Muy bueno. La primera vez lo encontré a un super precio.

特に優秀な味わいの樽を、他の樽と混ぜ合わせることなく取り出して詰めるシングルバレル。その味わいは、確かに通常のジャックダニエルとは違いました。もちろん、ジャックダニエルと言う銘柄自体がとても優秀なのですが、こちらのシングルバレルで特に印象に残ったのは、そのフレーバーの暴力的なまでの強さと、余韻の強さ。口に含むとジャックダニエルと言う名の香水の様な圧倒的フレーバーが味覚嗅覚を支配します。よくジャックダニエルをして、熟したバナナの様なフレーバーを謳うものですが、このシングルバレルだとそれがとても強く、深くよく分かる。またその余韻は、綿棒に含ませたジャックを口に軽くふくんだだけで、1分以上も残るものであり、ここまで香り高いウイスキーはそうそうない。一万以上のクラスのウイスキーならあり得ても、それ以下ではほとんどお目にかかれない代物です。一見お高い値段だし、それはその通りなのだけれども、実際にはそれ以上の価値があると言えるボトルだと思います。もちろんバレルによる違いはありましょうが、通常のジャックダニエルよりもツーランク以上高い体験が出来ると思います。おすすめです。
