I never understood that about UK / Ire :) So I kind of have to wear slippers which I don't normally wear but it's alright with just socks. Just not super comfortable. Anyhow I still give it 5/5 because I wasalready aware that it was meant for footwear and I think there's a version that is smooth with textile that cost more. My flaw is that I use it to push my chair out when I am about to get up, my feet are on the stand naturally as it is in front of me but sometimes with pressure on the stand it has a snapping sound without a major amount of pressure. If you want a simple footrest it is fine but try not to push off from it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Simple but effective *by A***T on 15 July 2020* Bought one of these as I was (like a lot of people at the moment) working from home using my dining table as a desk and found that my feet were too far off the ground once I had adjusted my chair for the height of the table (probably made worse by me being 5'6"). I had been using a box to put my feet on but this was not ideal as it was uncomfortable and slid about all over the place on my wood floor. So I ordered this as a cheap option to see if it was better and I have to say that it's made a huge difference to my comfort levels already. OK, so this is very simple to assemble and only has limited options in terms of angles for use, but it seems perfect to me and the rubber feet keep it nicely secure on my wood floor.
