Great coffee alternative
it's a wonderful coffee substitute for those seeking a caffeine-free alternative or dealing with digestive issues like gastritis. After my diagnosis, I switched from coffee to chicory root and was pleasantly surprised by how gentle it was on my stomach—no discomfort or acidity that I used to experience with coffee. The roasted chicory has a rich, earthy flavor that doesn’t exactly mimic coffee but comes close enough to satisfy the taste and aroma I was missing. The granules are easy to brew, dissolving smoothly in hot water, and can be enjoyed on their own or blended with milk or a milk alternative for a creamier experience. I appreciate that this product is organic, gluten-free, and non-GMO, ensuring a natural and health-conscious choice. It’s perfect for those looking to cut back on caffeine without sacrificing the ritual of a warm, comforting drink. Overall, it’s been a great addition to my daily routine, allowing me to enjoy a coffee-like experience without the drawbacks.

Awesome Stuff
A bit of a paradigm shift necessary for me to understand the usage of this. I tried to make tea from it in a french press... which was a disaster. Horrible. But adding a 1:1 ratio of chicory to coffee... is amazing. Now I know why people laud "New Orleans coffee" so much. It supports the strength of coffee without bitterness -- and half the caffeine. I'd read about this, but not experienced it firsthand. Welcome to 1850!

A little goes a long way
I found out about this from a sitcom (Becker, for those of you old enough to remember), where Dr. Becker's nurse mentioned that adding a little chicory root to coffee makes a world of difference. And it does! I don't follow the directions given in the package; instead, I just use about the same amount of coffee as usual, and then add maybe a teaspoon or two of this (per 8 ounce cup of coffee), and it gives it an awesome flavor. You can actually just brew this instead of coffee, but I didn't like the flavor this way. I also tried a one to one ratio, and that might work for some, but not for me. I've never tried other brands, but Anthony's has a nice, fresh smell each time I open the bag. All I can say is, try it. Taste is subjective, so some may not like it, others will love it. Added bonus: NO caffeine.

Makes a delicious and satisfying chicory beverage
This Anthony's chicory root makes a great substitute for coffee. I just received this bag today, and made myself some in a french press. It's been years since I've had chicory root, and I was curious to see if it would fill the caffeine void that eliminating coffee would leave in my day. I especially like that chicory root is packed with prebiotic fiber and inulin, which helps gut health. It also helps aid in blood sugar control, and can help with weight loss. Plus so many more benefits I haven't listed here.

Very Good--for What it Is
This is my first experience with chicory. I recently learned that my chronic stomach pain was due to an acquired sensitivity to coffee, so began searching for substitutes. This one is very tasty, for what it is. The "four stars" isn't because the quality isn't there, but as a substitute, it's definitely more work to make, and the flavor's not as complex as coffee. But I still like it as an alternative, and will most likely buy it again.

Just like drinking coffee with added benefits.
This is a great substitute for coffee. I love it! I purchased my first bag at the end of February and just now I got my second one. I use one tablespoon for 14 oz of water and it is quite strong, so I add soy milk to it. This allows me to have about 3 cups a day. I have not tried other brands so I cannot make a comparison, but I feel that Anthony's Organic Roasted Chicory Root Granules, 1 lb, Gluten Free, Non GMO, Caffeine Free, Keto Friendly is great in quality. It doesn't give me heartburn like coffee and there are quite a few potential benefits to drinking Chicory root coffee. It is rich in inulin and antioxidants, and studies have also shown that it may have anti-inflammatory properties. It is traditionally used to support liver function. I highly recommend it.

Pensar dos veces si quieres que esto sea un sustituto del café, no sabe bien.
