Black Lava Rocks for Fire Pit, Gas Fireplace Rocks, 1 to 2 Inch, 20 lbs

Perfect. Exactly what I needed. The rocks are a darker gray more thank black but they’re absolutely gorgeous and work great.

Great price compared to others I saw on Amazon and elsewhere. 20lb didn’t go as far as I thought it would but that’s just the nature of the beast, not specific to this product. I love the softer more modern vibe of these rounded lava rocks. They were the perfect finish to my fire pit conversion to propane. Some of the rocks do get soot / black smudges on them from the fire pit that stand out a little compared to the grayish color of the rocks, but it’s not a problem to me (they aren’t truly black rocks, more medium to dark grey after the dust washed off).Photos show the finished look (multiple bags, about five 20lbs), the in progress look with only one 20lb bag added, and then what rocks look like wet vs dry.

Updating our fire pit, these are perfect for the outside ring and underneath the fire glass.

The black lava rocks come in a bag still covered in dust from the rolling process. The dust can be cleaned off using an air compressor in an open area, and then the rocks can be lightly coated in mineral oil to bring out their color. Some rocks have more gray mineral than others making them a lighter color after the oil soaks in. Some of the rocks are almost completely black so if multiple bags are ordered the darker ones can be arranged on top of the lighter ones if that is the look you're going for. I've included a photo of freshly oiled vs non oiled rocks.
