The "Holy Grail" of wireless mouseless keyboarding....?
Want a full-sized wireless keyboard with a mouse alternative? This is the one. It has a few things I'd change if I could, but the advantages far outweigh the deficiencies. I dislike the shiny finish- too glitzy, is constantly smudged, light reflection is somewhat annoying. The bottom of the keyboard has two tiny silly little rubber pads which are totally inadequate to keep it from sliding off of anything that's not perfectly level. Since I use a lap desk-usually not level at all- I attached a sheet of that non-skid drawer liner stuff to the lap desk with binder clips, and the keyboard is rock solid. It would be nice if the hotkeys didn't require holding down the "Fn" key to operate them. it would be nice to have a mouse button on the left side of the board as well. BUT ENOUGH KVETCHING ALREADY! This is a great, full-function keyboard with pretty much all the functions you need for home and office applications. I've used a pretty fair variety of touchpad and trackball keyboards, and this beats any others out there. I don't use mine at any great range, so I can't speak to that. Performance has been flawless. The keys are crisp and clicky and responsive.- if you don't like clicky keys this isn't for you, perhaps. I like them very much. I was concerned about the touchpad at first- it seemed very small. This is the most sensitive touchpad ever. Super-smooth cursor movement, and ultra-fast scrolling, and size does not matter here. I use dual monitors, and I can get from the far edge of one screen to the far edge of the other with two flicks of my finger, which is about as easy as it gets. I've had some nice trackball keyboards, and they're great until they go south on you, and they always do. I think touchpads are the way to go when going mouseless, and I think that this keyboard is the best thing going right now. I'd have paid full price for it, but I got an open-box "like new' deal from Amazon Warehouse on mine for about $35.00, Gotta love that! The touchpad is what makes this keyboard for me.

but I would recommend buying a good cache of rechargeable batteries
I've used this keyboard for three or so years as my primary keyboard at home on a system used mainly for internet access. I feel I have a solid understanding of what it can do, and what it doesn't do well at all. The key action is ok, nothing to write home about. It's average as far as that goes. I don't know what this keyboard does that allows it to burn through batteries, but I would recommend buying a good cache of rechargeable batteries, because I go through them at a rate of a pair of AAA every few weeks. I use rechargeable batteries, and they're the best on the market (Eneloop). This keyboard does not use Bluetooth Low Energy (v4 and above), although to its credit that protocol wasn't being widely used at the time this Adesso was being designed. Considering the power consumption rate of this keyboard, it is completely beyond me as to why they didn't use AA batteries as opposed to AAA. Pairing the Adesso with the system where the dongle is plugged in is puzzling . I have other wireless keyboards, and I don't have to go through the process of turning them off/on then hitting a 'connect' button as is required with the Adesso. I found the Adesso was dropping its connection to the computer while I was writing this review, and have now officially disconnected it. The considerably older Logitech wireless keyboard I'm now using connected automatically. This Logitech NEVER drops its connection, either. It's a mini-keyboard, however, can't use all the time. The Adesso also needs direct line of sight to its USB dongle. My keyboard is roughly five feet from its dongle, and if there is anything between the two, it drops the connection. It's been getting worse lately, to the point of which even if there is nothing between it and the computer it still randomly drops the connection. I replace batteries, resync the connection and it might work for a while. I wouldn't recommend this keyboard at all. I used it for three frustrating years, and feel it barely functioned as it should. I'll be ordering a new keyboard today.

Best currently available for my purposes - but no replacement dongles available anymore
Update 2026 I have downgraded my rating from 4 stars to one star because it is now impossible to get replacement RF/USB receiver dongles from Adesso for this keyboard. I had managed to get a replacement dongle about 2022, but now the company does not answer email and the replacement dongle is also not available from the manufacturers webpage anymore. So be careful when buying this excellent keyboard to never loose/misplace the dongle now! Original text: I am primarily using https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MFLBBK in my living room setups for HTPCs. Alas, these have stopped long since to be available, have some problems with hangups on windows 10, and do not work with keyboard hotkeys on switchers such as https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJEDKAO. The newer Logitech RF keyboards (K400 / K830) are IMHO all too small to nicely sit solid on legs or in the lap for me, and its impossible to rest the right hand comfortably on the boarder of the keyboard and reach the mousepad. For my purposes, this keyboard solves my requirements best from what i see available today. no win 10 problems, keyboard hotkeys on switcher works, the size is right (large) and the mousepad can be reached ok. Of course, the keyboard layout of the old logitech PS3 keyboard would be best IMHO. Who needs the numeric keypad ;-) battery live not well explored by seems decent. On/Off switch on top would of course be better yet. Did i mention the old logitech PS3 keyboard was great ? ;-) Edit 2023: I misplaced the RF dongle for one of these keyboards. I am happy to report that Adesso was able to sell me a working replacement dongle for $14. It is also now listed on the Adesso web page. Translation: Not cheaply imported, non-supported product, but well supported!

Great Keyboard
I've had this keyboard for a little while now, and I love it. I was afraid it was be too small or awkward. However, the design turned out to be great. The touchpad works perfectly, and the keys are nice and springy. One problem: I plugged the USB dongle into the back of my desktop. The keyboard was unreliable even with the keyboard less than 5 feet away from the dongle. I plugged the USB dongle into the USB port on the top of my computer, and it works perfectly. The range seems to be 30 feet unobstructed. Couple of small things: The finish is glossy, so it'll look nice right out of the box. But there will always be finger smudges on it after any kind of use. The num/caps/scroll lock LEDs are very dim. In the daylight it's tough to tell if they're on or not. You cannot change the volume with one hand. You need to press FN + f10,f11,or f12. Often I want to mute my music and walk away, and I'm required to put my drink down to mute my computer. Like I said, they're small things, but it'd be nice if they were taken care of. Sometimes the little things take something from good to great.

Occasionally unreliable
I have my PC hooked up to my TV, and was looking for an all-in-one keyboard like this to keep things clutter-free. I spent a while searching around and reading a lot of reviews for various products, and it seems like no one has made a truly reliable wireless touchpad keyboard yet - every one I read about has issues, whether it's an unreliable connection or shoddy design. This one is pretty decent, but not quite reliable enough to justify the price. Pros: - It's a good size and shape. Using the touchpad took a week or two to get used to, but it's fairly comfortable now, though still nowhere near as comfortable as a real mouse. - I never have to worry about turning it on/off, or waiting for it to "wake up" when turning on my PC. It just connects and works instantly. - Works immediately out of the box with no hassle. - The last wireless keyboard I tried didn't respond to holding more than two keys down at the same time, making some games impossible to play properly (you can't sprint and jump at the same time, for example). Thankfully, this keyboard doesn't have that problem. Cons: - The connection is unreliable. It boasts a wireless range of 30 feet, but even with my PC sitting 2 feet away the whole thing occasionally stops responding for a few seconds at a time. It's not consistent, but this is definitely my biggest issue with the product. - The cursor speed on the touchpad is far too slow for my liking, while the scroll bar on the side of the touchpad has the opposite problem, and scrolls much too fast.

Works well but Backspace key hangs on all 5 units I've purchased.
This is a darned good keyboard with ONE consistent manufacturing defect. All five units purchased through Amazon (going back to 2019) have an annoying problem, the backspace key hangs. Thinking it was a bit of plastic flashing I broke out my X-Acto with #11 blade but there's nothing to trim, nor any visible reason for this key to hang - but - it does. Grrrr! Otherwise, love the keyboard. not the best keystroke feel but acceptable. The texture of the touchpad is nice but over time rubs smooth. Not a deal breaker but I kind of wish the feel lasted longer. But I do hate the darned backspace key sticking. Honestly, this is a nuisance. And one, which I would have expected Adesso to have long ago corrected. But over the course of three years and five purchases, they all do it . . . every single one. I hate this enough I would never buy another Adesso product - except - nobody else makes a full size keyboard with numeric keypad! But if they did it would be sayonara Adesso forever because a keyboard company that doesn't care enough about a sticking key - over the course of three years - simply isn't deserving of my money. In the meantime, and in the absence of a competitor, then I have no choice but to recommend this product because other than this one issue, it's great for use in the living room with a laptop routed to the 70" television for me to work from (bad back means the La-Z-Boy for most surfing and light productivity). 4 stars that would be 5 if they were to correct this manufacturing defect.

The Keyboard I've waited years for!!
Finally!! The keyboard I've been wanting for years for someone to produce, I have been enjoying for the last month! Not inexpensive, but I feel it is well worth it. Excellent construction and design, and very attractive. And having a built-in trackpad is so much more productive and quick than moving your arm over to a mouse. I am very experienced and comfortable using mice, but why people are so attached to them is silly. Clicking(by just tapping the pad) and scrolling is so great with the trackpad. You can do everything from your lap without needing a spot for the mouse. Setup was effortless. I have never had to press the connect button, not even during setup. And the on/off button is perfectly positioned under the right end of the keyboard, so that you easily turn it on each time you grab the keyboard or off each time you put it aside(if you're not going to use it for awhile). There is not even a moments delay, but instantly the trackpad and keyboard are awake and responsive. The keyboard has a great layout and good touch feel. There hasn't been any dropped characters or other anomolies. The small(1/2") receiver works great on both of my laptops(no software to install). The little receiver fits magnetically in the bottom of the keyboard when being transported-slick! Keyboard uses 2 AAA batteries, which it seems will last a good while longer. There is a low battery indicator that hasn't come on yet. I hook up my laptop by HDMI cable to HD TV and stream Netflix or Amazon movies and can easily control the web from this keyboard at my easy chair. Great for looking at our photos on the big screen. There are all of the media and internet short-cut keys, as well. I now take my 3 lb. 13" laptop on trips and take along this keyboard. I can grab and go when I need ultimate portability. But when I need comfort, I put the laptop at eye level and have the keyboard on my lap. Lighter than my 17" laptop-What a great combination!! I do a lot of 10-key number entry and having the trackpad right next to it is ideal. I had my own computer business and was a consultant for many years. This is the keyboard I would have designed and I hope others try it so that it succeeds and they can experience the beauty of a great design!!

Doesn't always stay connected and no touchpad driver
Overall, it's an OK keyboard, but I couldn't give it more than 2 stars. For starters, there is no touchpad driver that would allow me to speed up the cursor movement or deactivate touch-clicking. For some reason, the cursor movement is very slow. Too slow. And no way to change the behavior. I hooked up a separate touch pad (also without a driver) and the cursor movement worked wonderfully. I wonder why that is. Shouldn't the touchpad behavior at least be consistent without a driver? Also, sometimes when I turn on the PC, the keyboard won't work at all. At first, I thought I was having problems with batteries getting used up way too fast. But that wasn't the problem. It had lost it's connection. There is a connect button underneath the keyboard that I will try next time it happens (it has happened about 5 times so far since I purchased it)...the thing that got it working for me so far was taking the battery out and putting it back in. So probably, turning it off and back on would have worked as well. I have just never run into anything like this with other manufacturers of wireless keyboards. I wouldn't personally use this keyboard (it was bought for a different workstation). The person who wanted it bought it for how it was layed out. I've bought one other keyboard by Adesso before (for the same person) and that had no touchpad driver either. What is it with Adesso and drivers?

It stops working after 1 year
The good stuff : - It works very well. The bad stuff : - It costs 4 times more than a keyboard with a mouse. - You only receive a 1-year warranty. - It stops working after 1 year !!! (replacing the batteries does not resolve the issue) Conclusion : Did I re-buy a new one after 1 year ? No, instead I bought the cheapest Logitech keyboard K120 with a long USB cable and the cheapest wireless Logitech mouse M171. Together I payed 4 times lesser than Adesso keyboard and I received a 2-year warranty in the store. Logitech also gives a 2-year warranty on its products. The Logitech keyboard K120 and Logitech mouse M171 work very well, no complaints.
