Beechfield Unisex Beechfield Merino Beanie Beret

This beanie is a slimline design, with plenty of stretch to be comfortable on a wide range of sizes. Although the merino jersey-knit is thin, wool is always excellent for warmth, and the quality of the sewing is good. I like the simplicity of the deign, with a horizontal headband attached to a seamless tube, which curves in over the head, with a slightly slouchy fit. I also like the mid-blue colour, which had the bonus of a price reduction at time of purchase - the hat is good value. The beanie would be perfect under a helmet, but is also OK on its own. It also would work well as a sleep-hat, for chillier nights.

This was much better than I expected and absolutely perfect for my intended use. I wanted a thin hat which could be worn under a crash helmet or waterproof hat in colder weather. The quality is great and it feels nice to wear. However I would not use it as a stand alone hat in very cold weather, but think it would be ideal to keep off the chill in the Spring or Autumn. It is very lightweight and very thin which is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a hat for cold weather, but for my use it is perfect and I am very pleased.

I like Merino wool products and this is no exception. Hats don’t really suit me (especially at my age) but this will be perfect under my cycle helmet during the eleven cooler months of the year! It seems a good buy at this price point and fits comfortably. I also like the blue colour and simple style of this beanie but most of all, I like to believe it will keep my head at the right temperature. I’m optimistic in this respect.

Quite thin and does stretch a lot so will fit most people. Wouldn’t be warm enough for a severe winter but as a base layer or just for a little extra warmth then it’s fine.

Price was good and quality appeared fine but 'one size doesn't fit/suit all'; I would say this is more like a L/XL so anyone with a smaller head will find it covering their eyes too. This may be no problem if you don't mind wearing it folded back on itself but that is not how I like it (e.g. no use under a cycle helmet), so for me unfortunately it didn't work.

Perfect !! Exactly what i was looking for. Spot on for my round head :).

Quite thin but folds up to similar size as a handkerchief which means it can easily be kept in a trouser pocket for emergencies. Although thin it is surprisingly warm and in really cold sub zero temperatures can also be used as a base layer for a warmer hat.

Vorneweg: für eine arktische Mission wäre sie als alleinige Mütze vermutlich nicht geeignet… Für mich ist sie die immer-dabei-Mütze in meiner Jackentasche. Dabei kommt ihr ihr Form Faktor zugute, denn sie ist sehr dünn und lässt sich dadurch gut verstauen. Für mich ein echter Pluspunkt. Ich hab auch so schon ziemlich voll gestopfte Taschen mit Handschuhen Schal etc. Bislang war sie auch immer ausreichend warm und hält auch etwas Wind ab. Natürlich ist so ein dünner Stoff nicht absolut winddicht. Doch manchmal ist das. ganz angenehm, wenn bei einem längeren Spaziergang auch einmal der Kopf ein wenig ins dampfen kommt... Zudem habe ich sie auch bei meinen winterlichen Ausfahrten auf dem Fahrrad unter dem Helm auf. Habe mir schon eine zweite bestellt, also Kaufempfehlung.
