Puritan's Pride Oil of Oregano 150mg, Traditional Herbal Immune Support, 180 Rapid Release Softgels, Pack of 2

I originally purchased this for uti issues. It definitely works wonders. But the big surprise was what it did for my sinuses. I have had a plugged ear and sinus headaches for YEARS. There were times when the whole left side of my face would be misereable; stuffy, painful, and my eye would swell up. Within an hour of taking the first pill, so much mucous loosened up and I was able to blow it out (sorry tmi)..long story short, I take one with breakfast, and one with dinner. I have not had a sinus headache since taking it, and my ear has stayed open. I have heard that you should take breaks, so I did, and within a couple of days, I could feel my sinuses filling up. I now take it daily. I've had no issues whatsoever. At least not yet, and I've been taking it for a couple of years. Side note: I have tried several brands, and this is the only one that has been effective for my sinuses. I know Nestlé has purchased Puritan's Pride and I PRAY that they don't change the formula.

For the reviewers that think the product is misleading, you don’t understand oil extracts. This product does have 1500 mg of oregano, but it comes in oil form, which has been extracted from the 1500 mg oregano and equals 150 mg oregano oil at a 10:1 extraction rate. Studies have shown oregano is shown to be just as effective as antibiotics. I had a recurring infection a little over a year ago that resulted in recurring boils and a carbuncle that put me in the hospital. IV antibiotics and another dose of 14 day antibiotics six weeks later still did not cut the infection out of my system. It recurred again a few weeks later and that’s when I decided to take oregano because the antibiotics were messing with my system. At the first sign of a boil, I’ve taken two oregano to start and then one at night and one in the morning for a few days, up to a week. The boil goes away in about three days. They were still recurring, but less and less frequently. So I believe that they will become nonexistent or almost nonexistent at some point and I’d rather have this oregano on hand then end up on antibiotics every time. Added bonus is that oil of oregano has been shown to effectively treat upper respiratory conditions. Sore throat? Congestion? Strep? Cough? I have a family of six and we can kick anything within a day or two with oregano, zinc, extra vitamin C and vitamin D. Our family also takes elderberry and echinacea pretty regularly during the cold and flu season. We are on our fourth year doing this and our family of six has been almost illness free. There was one day three years ago and my youngest had a fever for 24 hours, a week last February where my oldest didn’t feel well, and we had the start of what seemed to be some colds during these past 4 years that went away by the next day or two. That’s it. NO MISSED WORK OR SCHOOL IN 4 YEARS.

These oil of oregano pills are an absolute staple in my supplement arsenal. My son started taking them back during COVID, and I’ve been consistently impressed with how effective they are. The softgels are easy to swallow, and I love that they contain natural antioxidant properties without any harsh additives. I usually buy a different brand -I let's call it "product X" - and those capsules were definitely oil of oregano. You can ssmell it as soon as you open the bottle. So when THESE arrived, I opened the bottle and immediately noticed an absence of the scent of oregano. I didn't trust it. The capsules were also twice the size of the pills of Product X I was accustomed to taking, leading me to believe that, if anything, the oil of oregano was diluted in this new brand. I got a needle and dug out one of these capsules, After a little effort, I poked through the skin to reveal the liquid inside. As soon as I withdrew the needle, I could smell the oregano...that nauseating smell with which I had grown familiar, every time I opened the bottle of Product X.. I dabbed with my finger the tiny bead of liquid escaping from the puncture mark, and placed it on the tip of my tongue. Instant burn! That's how you know you have the real stuff. The oregano in the capsule can burn your tongue or skin if used directly without diluting it. So why did I have trouble smelling the oregano in this product? The skin of THESE capsules are much thicker than what I was originally consuming. The capsule's doubled size Is due to the thickness of the skin, not the volume of substance. It also explains why I didn't smell oregano when I opened the bottle; the thickness insulated the liquid, preventing an escape of scent. Now, here's why this thickness of membrane is important: When taking Product X for UTI (which works for me as an option superior to antibiotics...but check with your doctor, first), I always felt nauseated about 25 minutes to an hour post-consumption. THIS brand doesn't make me feel sick. Why? Since the skin of this product is thick, the contents do not spill into my system until the capsule is in my intestines. On the contrary, Product X immediately opened in my stomach, causing gastric distress: nausea, heartburn and oregano burps. The skin of Product X was so thin, I could press it between two fingers, and it would pop. In fact, many reviews of Product X claimed their pills arrived in a big messy clump at the bottom of the bottle. Why did this happen? During shipment, either temperature, rough handling or air pressure was too much for these tiny fellows, causing the pills to expand and burst mid-shipment. I'm looking forward to seeing how this brand works. I did like the fact that Brand X was instrumental in healing my UTI, in spite of it's now-revealed issues. My only concern with this product is whether the Oil of Oregano makes it into my system before being excreted. Will the thickness dissolve in time to be useful? I will leave an update after I use it a bit. I'm not sure I can return to Product X; their supply was depleted when I tried to reorder. If this product works, I'm not sure I want to return to Product X.

I wanted to write this review because I have suffered from sinus infections and the antibiotics have ruined my stomach. I was on precision, inhalers, etc you name it. I kept hearing older generations say take oregano oil it works. I was scared to take it at first because I have never heard of it, I became very desperate to find a remedy. This product cleared my sinuses and also help with the Asthma symptoms I was having. I also feel it helped with Acid reflux. You can not go wrong with this product. Alert. This product does not work overnight. Take one in the morning/one at night. I'm not a doctor, but this is what I did. Slowly but surely, I started to feel more clear. I don't suggest you take more than 15 days. You should see change by then. The reason being this clears bad bacteria but can also clear good. Dealing with a bit of yeast from it, but it's well worth it. Get women's probiotic that helps with urinary and vaginal Ph level or Honey pot wash sold at Target. This product did exactly what I wanted it to do. Still clear and have not taken any more. Keep this around the first sign of a cold.
