If you are looking to add a touch of style to your letters and seals, then this is a must have item to complete your kit. These sturdy and decorative ring sizers keep the wax from going all over the place and allow you to create a uniformed design without out the hot wax running amok on the letterhead or envelope. This is the best kit that I have seen out there to add that professional touch that says I care about the small details. The rings are well made and easy to use. On my scale of 1 to 5 I give this item a VERY SOLID 5 (MUST BUY RECOMMENDATION)

I only wish the silicone mat fit into the box easier, it’s a little challenging to close it up after using it , otherwise very good product for the price. I used the silicone mat to rest my spoon, wax stick, and stir stick on in between cards. I poured the wax directly onto my card, then stamped it with the ring as a guide for the wax. Let it cool for a while, then you do have to gently rock the stamper back and forth while holding down the wax to break it away, same with the ring. Wasn’t too hard to do, just be patient and gentle. With the wax pieces I used 3 pieces at first, it was a bit too much wax, but 2 pieces seemed too skimpy. You have to use the stamper to guide the wax the way you want it to go. In the photo I think I used 3 pieces of wax. The stick wax takes longer to melt, fill up the spoon all the way with the stick, because when you remove it from the spoon the volume drops, then scrape off the melted wax. I prefer the little wax pieces. Those I use a wooden stir-stick to help it melt.

When you put the wax in the mold, put in less than you think you need. Otherwise it looks like you are making a coin instead of a seal. Saying that, It does the trick. Make sure when you buy your seals, that the inner diameter of these molds can fit your stamps. But there is nothing wrong with just getting a general shape and removing the mold and then pressing with the stamp. I am going to get this for my niece for Christmas now.

I use the scalloped one more than the plain round one. Contains the wax well.
