Amazing camera, great for board troubleshooting, HVAC repair and many other practical purposes.
having used handheld thermal cameras before, this little device greatly exceeded my expectations. The Macro lens is essential for board troubleshooting and works very well. The standout features are great resolution, android app compatibility, ease of use, portability, versatility and value. There are many practical uses for this device beyond device/PCB diagnostics and troubleshooting including HVAC, energy efficiency, car/engine diagnostics etc... I highly recommend this device.

Tiny size and works great on initial testing.
Note: The little extender in the picture is not included. My camera came with a case, a lightning extender cable, micro lens adapter, and a lens cover for the micro adapter. When used the micro lens is held onto the camera by a magnet. I wanted this InfiRay thermal camera to help with finding an automotive parasitic draw. I am impressed that it is small and powerful. It has a lightning plug which I do not like, especially since all modern consumer electronics are switching to USB-c. I probably got this on sale so they can get rid of inventory before the release of their new model. My iPhone has an Otter Box Defender case and the camera would not plug into my phone with the case on. The camera comes with a 14.5 inch lighting cable extender which was able to plug into my phone with the case on. However, if I use the cable, I have to hold the phone with one hand and the camera in the other or pinch the cord and phone together at the same time which would have been awkward and probably not level. Then I would have to try to not let the camera loose and have it swing and hit something. To solve the cord issue, I bought a nub type lighting cord extender, as shown in the picture. This allowed me to have the camera rigidly attached and level and it worked great. I was able to turn my phone so the camera was on top and the screen orientation automatically flipped.

Excellent resolution and sensitivity
This little infrared camera is absolutely amazing. Besides its small size without the compromise on sensitivity and resolution, it does not contain any battery to recharge, very low power consumption, plug and play! The refresh rate of 25hz blown away the export control limit at 10Hz! It makes video practical. For future improvements, it would be nice if the company can make the temperature measurements more accurate, to be able to save directly local photo/video album, and better uniformity when scene is cold. From time to time the software would get some glitch stoping the live view for a couple of seconds somehow. The auto switch from wide temperature range to higher image quality is very slow. Hope this can be more seamless. A variable focal length would also be better than a clip on lens for macro and tele. Overall, it is a great little camera for home inspection, electronics debugging, rescues, etc.

Lightning Version Works Good, Just Not with an iPhone 15 or Newer
UPDATE: I am revising this review to 1 star down from 4. The combination of the camera plus the USB-C adapter cable is at best flaky. The software now rarely recognizes that the camera and cable have been plugged into the phone. Don’t bother trying to use this with an iPhone that is equipped with USB-C. Infi Ray needs to update the camera with a USB-C connector rather than using a Lightning connector. I have been using the iOS/Lightning version of this for a while. It is a nice piece of hardware. I bought the adapter cable to use it with my iPad Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. The cable has some benefits and some drawbacks. Where I could one-hand shoot with my older iPhone 13, I now need 2 hands: one to control the camera and one to control the phone/iPad. A rigid adapter would have been better for the most part. The benefits would be that since the camera is so small, it now is able to fit into places where it could not when connected rigidly to the phone.

Multi purpose, consumer grade with above average resolution for a decent price
I know the standalone pro thermal image cams are 2-3x as expensive having the edge with better resolution, but this puts a very powerful nearly pro tool, (accurate enough for most basic needs) in the hands of the consumer with small learning curve. Powered by the iphone, it demonstrates one more feature of the iphone's (and other compatible smartphones') capabilities, and surprising versatility that truly make it a swiss army knife of all trades. I use this for ruling out any leaks in pex tubing used for radiant floor heating. Although, I'm still learning how to fine tune, I was able to visualize every pex pipe buried in concrete and every turn it took from beginning to end. I can see hotspot along the exterior perimeter of my house covered in EIFStucco. I am able to see raccoons scampering along the tops of the fences at night. So much more to discover and reveal, all from a micro attachment with software, like it or not, that has more whistles and bells than I would've expected. One demerit, though, for minimalist directions assuming language barrier.

As advertised
So for so good. I have only had it a week or so and only been able to play around with it. But it works great and seems to be built well. I can see the water level in a water bottle based on the temp difference. I can see the studs in my wall. Very cool. App works fine and everything seems snappy. The little carrying case it comes with is a nice addition since it's a tiny device. Adds protection and makes it less likely to be lost somewhere. Would buy again based on first impressions.

Hardware is neat, software atrocious
Update July 2024: After 6 months the Android app issue was resolved. It still freezes every 25-30 seconds for some reason then resumes as if it has to reinitialize, and the new app is still horrible to use, but it's functional. Hardware wise, it's great (except possibly the frequent freezes) Software wise, they should open source it so someone can refactor and fix the terrible user experience. Original Review: The hardware is pretty awesome. Very small, light weigh. You can use a simple USBC extender if you have a phone case cause it fits quite snug to the phone. You can plug it in either way to get self facing or forward facing images. Pretty simple plug and play. Temperature measurement is accurate to within 2-5c when testing against a thermocouple on a 170C metal surface. The resolution and frame rate is great for the cost. The only detractor is the software. And that's a big one. The only software available has a 3-5 second intro which is totally unnecessary and slows down the usage of the app. If you hit back a few times you might skip the intro or exit the app, hit or miss. Beyond that, and this is the main reason for the 1 star... Videos and images save scrambled. You can view them live just fine, but as of Android 14, they don't save at all. Tried with all the apps the Infiray on the app store, in addition to the one recommended with the device... Nothing saves images properly.

What's not to like?
This is a great little addon for my Android phone. For the same price as my Klein Tools TI250 thermal imager you get so much more - much better resolution, many adjustments, many color options. plus a macro lens with a focal point of around 1.5". This make my Klein TI250 look like a child's toy. The only downside is it will not fit into the USB-C port if you have a shock case installed on your phone. It uses a magnet to stay in place and will just fall out if the case is there. To get around this I used wire clippers and cut away part of the bottom of the protective addon shock case but left the corners intact. With this modification, the case still stays on fine and the InfiRay P2 Pro Thermal Camera fits and stays in place. With this workaround, I am very happy with this camera. The resolution and operation is great. It does wear down your phone battery within a few hours, however. So you need to be mindful of that. There are complains about the Android App that runs the camera in the Android reviews, but I found no trouble with the app - it works great. Maybe they fixed whatever people were complaining about.
