Best portable speaker I have owned
This is the best quality portable speaker I have ever owned. And I've tried several. I bought two of these. One for me and one for someone else. We have had them for over two years now. Neither has ever failed. The sound isn't Bose but it is still pretty awesome considering it is only 14 watts. Must be due to the superior work inside the speaker. The sound really is very good. I have cranked this speaker up to its maximum volume and there was no distortion. The sound quality remained excellent. I also often use this speaker for watching movies on my laptop. Rarely are speakers, on a laptop, fantastic. So, this portable speaker allows me to have a more immersive experience while I'm streaming a show or movie on my laptop. The sound is amazing for this as well. The battery life is amazingly long. It really is 20 hours of continuous play! What I like about it is that if you stop playing your music, but forget to turn the speaker off, eventually it will turn itself off, which saves on the battery. Additionally, it charges back up pretty fast. It always quickly connects to whatever device I'm pairing it with. This includes my laptop or my phone. And its promise of a 100 foot range has been tested multiple times. This surprised me and I was glad to see that it delivered on this promise. It's triangular design makes it more stable and less likely to be knocked over (better center of gravity). It's weight is lighter than other portable speakers I've owned. To the point where it is light enough to carry, in one hand, while going on a long walk (if you want to take your music with you and listen to it). It really is that light. And, the triangular design makes it easier to carry around. The cover for its connections works very well to keep it waterproof. However, the cover is still easy to open which isn't always true for waterproof devices. Also, this cover is attached to the device. This means when you temporarily take it off to charge it (or connect with wires), you won't lose the cover. It says it can go under 3 feet of water. I haven't tested this out but do bring it into the shower daily. Its waterproof rating means that shower water running over it won't harm the speaker. I'm hoping, in the future, to have an opportunity to test it under water! If nothing else, I'd like to take it to the beach. That's another reason why this is an excellent speaker - you have to be really careful on taking any electronics to the beach, even if you don't plan on taking it into the water. Why? Normally, these things can ruin an electronic: the salty air, the sand, and any unintended splashes with salt water. However, this speaker would be perfect for the beach because it's built to withstand all of this! Another great feature about this speaker is you can connect multiple ones together to give yourself surround sound. Considering the incredibly reasonable price of these speakers, it makes it more reasonable (cost-wise) to do this. The controls, on the side, or easy to read and very easy to use. I highly recommend this speaker. It will last for a long time and will deliver everything it promises.

Picky audio guy says get it!!! Battery is alien I guess...better than my Flip 4!!!
I purchased this due to a "Today" deal on Amazon as I have two other Bluetooth speakers, the JBL Flip 4 and the Charge 2+. I was hoping it would be good enough for streaming music in my bedroom while I slept so expectations were low. I've given away two other speakers I had due to sound quality issues. I really enjoy the Flip and Charge and am continually impressed with them. I received the ULTRA the next day after ordering! These deals sure have fast shipping. I paired it to my phone and took a quick listen...Wow! I couldn't believe it sounded so good, I did have it on my counter in the kitchen in a corner so it was getting some low end reinforcement from its location but I felt the highs were superior to the Charge and maybe even the Flip. This is an excellent speaker for what it is and I would be happy using it in either of the locations I'm presently using the JBL's. Also I've had it several days and it still isn't needing a first charge! This is crazy because I've been listening quite a bit and used it once at night to sleep. There may be sorcery at work here. I can't recommend this speaker enough, it sounds great, looks awesome and the price point is fantastic. If you need a higher quality speaker purchase this without reservation. Good bass and highs and plays plenty loud enough for me. ***UPDATE*** Purchased this speaker and received it May 5th, as of today I still have still not charged it! How is this possible?!? I used it at home listening while cooking and at least 2 nights I played it all night while sleeping. I then took it into work and use it during the day to listen. The manual says the light will flash red when the battery is below 15% but my light is still green. When I wrote my original review I mentioned sorcery but at that time I was only kidding, now I'm a little blown away that a speaker can last almost 3 weeks being used extensively and not require a first charge... !!!UPDATE #2!!! One thing this speaker does that I love is it DOES NOT mute when I go into your phone, both the JBL's mute the music when you do anything on your phone. I can mute the speaker myself if I need to JBL. Anyway this speaker lasts way longer than either JBL, sounds just as good if not better and doesn't mute itself if I just wanna check a quick Instagram. A+++ JBL Flip 4 battery doesn't hold a charge anymore and when I plus it in the battery reads almost full but isn't and will not charge. The JBL cost me 100 bucks!

Best speaker
Great value! And the speaker is phenomenal! Perfect sound with no static or feed back. Thank you

Just as good as they were 5 years ago. Superior sound, stereo, and bass, but confused.
I bought a 2 of these speakers 5 years ago, and they are still working as well as the day I bought them. Most recently, I had to replace a different brand of speakers that pooped out. I shopped through the various brands, but kept coming back to these. I bought 2 of them for stereo sound, and I love them. I use the new set in my bathroom, and the older set is being used as the replacements in my basement work area. Since I had kept the older set plugged in, I was concerned this would wear out the battery, but the batteries on both speakers still hold a charge and connect automatically when I turn them on. My husband also has a set of these speakers that I bought him for Christmas 5 years ago that he uses on an enclosed back porch that is his workshop. Both of us have these speakers connected to Amazon Alexa devices to listen to radio and a couple of music apps. When connected to the Amazon Alexa devices, I turn the volume on the speakers to maximum so the volume can be controlled by the Amazon Alexa device. So, why do I love these speakers? 1) The cost for 2 doesn't break the bank. 2) The stereo sound is superior. When using 2 speakers in stereo, the sound seems to come between them. For input that is stereo, you get a great separation of sound. 3) Once you connect the left speaker as the main speaker, and pair two speakers, they connect automatically when you turn them on. Connecting two speakers in stereo mode is very easy, and they reconnect even if you turn the off. 4) Whether kept plugged into power or not, the speakers work equally well. I kept one set plugged into electricity all the time and the other was plugged in only when it needed to be charged. Both work equally well. 5) When using 2 speakers, both are controlled by the first speaker connected. If you increase volume of the initial speaker, it also controls the volume of the second speaker. If you shut off the first speaker, it automatically shuts off the second speaker. 6) Sound quality, bass, and stereo separation is superb in my opinion. I really do love these speakers, especially if you get two for stereo sound, and would highly recommend them. These speakers are not expensive, and, in my opinion, beat the sound quality of more expensive speakers. In addition, the life span of these speakers makes them more than worth the cost. Update 3/20/23: The speakers pictured and described were bought for me by my husband November, 2021 that I installed in my bathroom, and moved a set I bought April 24, 2018 to my basement work area. I had also bought a set for my husband for Christmas December 11, 2017. All of these were the same and used the same micro USB cable for charging. December 5, 2022, I bought another set just to have an extra set in case I needed it. In March of 2023, I discovered that one of the speakers I bought in 2018 was no longer charging. So, I bought one more of these speakers to replace the one that was failing. This speaker had the same mini USB charging cable, but would not pair with the older speaker that was still working. When I took out the speakers I bought 12/5/22, I discovered the charging cable on both of these was USB-C and neither of them would pair with the older speaker or the one I just bought in March of 2023. I finally did pair the two speakers that had the USB-C charging cables after a lot of frustration and aggravation. I found that every one of the orders is linked to the same sales page on Amazon. The newest speaker I bought uses the same charging cable as the older speakers, and the set I bought just previously to this on uses USB-C. This makes me wonder exactly what you are getting when placing an order on this page. Judging from my experience, I wonder if you get an older version when you buy only one speaker. They all look the same, so how could you possibly know. At any rate, the single speaker I bought would not pair with the older speaker having the mini USB power cord nor would it pair with either of the speakers that had the USB-C power cords. I am returning the most recently purchased speaker since it won't pair with any of the other speakers I have. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Solidly made with terrific performace for it's price range, plus it's splash proof with a option for stereo pairing.
I originally bought the original Oontz Angle 3 a year ago so I could play music in the shower or in the kitchen from my phone or tablet without worry. I wasn't expecting much from a (at the time) $30 blue tooth speaker but the sound quality was really nice for the price. Better yet, after a year it still performs like the day I first got it even after a few drops. So when I saw that Cambridge came out with the Oontz Angle 3 ULTRA and that it was going on sale for the same price as the original Angle 3, I just had to get one. There been some significant improvements over the original Angle 3. - Better design, closer resembling the Oontz Angle 3 XL. - Added track selection buttons on the speakers. - Splash proof. While I don't necessarily feel it any better than the original's, it always nice knowing I can put these in a bathroom or kitchen without having to freak out if they happen to get a little wet. - Better base. While the original Angle 3 had good sound quality and decent base, the ULTRA pumps up the base to the next level, all the while never at the cost of becoming distorted at max volumes. The ULTRA lives up to the "Oontz" brand name as it can actually produce base you can FEEL. I have a set in my bedroom about 3 feet from the foot of my bed and I can feel every beat in my foot board easily. Surprised the hell out of me the first time, I'm a little amazed how much they improved the base in a unit that's only slightly bigger than the original. - Speaker Pairing. A main reason I gave the ULTRA a shot was due to the fact it has the option to pair with another ULTRA speaker, something that was only available from the $80-$130 Angel 3 XL. While I had a little trouble initially pairing two ULTRAs together, they were never a problem once they were. You're given the option of having a dedicated Left and Right speaker for a stereo set up or you can do a duel stereo on each speaker which is ideal if you moving back and forth between two rooms and want to enjoy music or an audio book uninterrupted. - Better Bluetooth range. On the original Angle 3, if I were to leave my phone or tablet in my bedroom and then move my speaker to the kitchen which was about 40ft away through two thick walls the speaker would start to lose connection and break up. Not a problem for the ULTRA, and the same goes for paring between two speakers. I can now leave a speaker in my bed room and bring one into the kitchen and have no problem playing audio on both no matter what room my device is in. That all said, there still could be some improvements. When paired, turning off the main speaker (the "left" speaker) will turn both off, but turning it back on won't turn them both back on. That's is a significant oversight in my book. Also I occasionally have issue with my devices recognizing the speakers, especially if I have more than one device paired to them and I want to switch between them, but that might have more to do with my devices than the speakers themselves. Worse comes to worse, you'll have to repair but it doesn't happen very often. Finally and this is more of a tongue in cheek criticism but they kind of make the original Angle 3 obsolete. As I write this the Ultra is $33 and the original is $25. At those price ranges, the $7 you save by getting an original Angle 3 just isn't worth it because the ULTRA provides so much for only several dollars more. Honestly, If the ULTRA is going to be $30-$33 depending on sales, I wouldn't pay more than $15 for the original Angle 3 and considering how often they go on sale I sure you'll see one for about $20, but that still seems high... Then we have the other end of the spectrum. Up to now I was really debating on getting a $130 Oontz Angle XL, mainly for the increase performance and pairing feature. And while knowing it often goes on sale for around $75, I still probably won't get one now that there's the ULTRA at less than half the price. Granted, I'm sure the XL even crazier in performance, loudness, etc.. but the ULTRA does such a good job as is that unless I start hosting huge outdoor parties regularly, I don't have have a need or desire for it anymore. Two ULTRAs do a hell of a job already providing loud high audio quality music in any of my home's rooms so unless the XL starts going on sale in the $60 range, I'm good. But who knows, that might happen when Cambridge comes out with a Angle 3 XXL or XL ULTRA or roll out with an Angle 4 line of speakers. Overall the Oontz Angle 3 is a solid choice for a Bluetooth speaker. It's built well, sounds terrific, will hold up to test of time, can be paired and is water resistant, all at a fair price (if bought for it often sale price of $30).

Great things come in surprisingly small packages!
My luck with wireless Bluetooth speakers has been hit-or-miss over the years ... but mostly miss. Even some of the more expensive ones I've tried have been woeful. I can live with a shorter battery life if I have to, but I do not want to sacrifice sound quality. And unfortunately, in my experience, most speakers fall short in that respect. HOWEVER, the OontZ Ultra is (for me) the best of all possible worlds and is surprisingly amazing! I was a little wary about ordering these, because I wasn't particularly familiar with the OontZ brand. However, after doing some online research and reading the reviews, I realized that I've apparently living under a rock. What first attracted me was the price. Speakers run the gamut in terms of cost, and while I wanted a solid set of portable speakers for my master bathroom, I didn't want to spend a fortune. The fact that these were an affordable mid-range option put them right in my sweet spot. The sound quality is shockingly good! I'm not an audio geek, so I can't speak to all the technical specs, but I DO know good sound when I hear it. I want crisp, clear treble and a deep, resonant base, without any tinniness or muffling. And these tick all those boxes in spades! Particularly compared to cheap little Bluetooth radio I'd been using, this is a whole new world of sound. The water resistance was another huge plus for me, since I wanted to use these in the bathroom when I was getting ready in the morning. I haven't tried to immerse them in the water or anything, but I do keep it perched on one of the shelves in the shower, so it's being regularly splashed. After a couple of months of daily use in the shower, it's still going strong. The battery life far exceeds anything I'd have expected. I probably should have measured how many hours I get on a single charge, but I generally only have to charge it about once a week. I'd guesttimate that I average at least 10-12 hours of playtime on a single charge? And when I do need to recharge it, it charges fairly quickly. I loved it so much, I bought a second one to pair with it, for a FULL stereo effect! This was the first time I'd ever paired multiple Bluetooth speakers, so it took me a few minutes to figure out the process (it would have taken less time if I'd have read the directions), but it was well worth the effort. After the initial pairing, when both speakers are turned on, they automatically re-pair on their own, which is incredibly handy. I LOVE my OontZ Ultra speakers!

CUSTOMER SERVICE / Charging /Sound
UPDATE: 07/22/2019 I've had my Oontz Angle 3 Ultra for 10 months. Works great, but it stopped charging 3 weeks ago. Charging problems were a noticeable part of the 1 star complaints. The problem for me was the broken center prong on the small USB charging port. The USB-C larger port has a more durable prong. Maybe they'll update with that. I got the unit replaced. CUSTOMER SERVICE: A+ Searched online: "Email Our OontZ Support Team" Get your order # ready. I bought from Amazon, so I took it from the email I still had from Oct. It's still in my Orders list at Amazon, too. Fill out the form and submit it. I rcvd an email within 24 hours explaining a 1 time option. I could send in the broken unit or pay a shipping fee of $7.99 to have them directly send a replacement no questions asked. In another day I paid. Within a few days I rcvd the new replacement unit. You can't beat that customer service unless it came with a free pizza. Lesson to me: Be careful using any of these USB ports. SOUND: The base on this is deep. Both my speakers had zero distortion. I'd like a control to brighten up the high tones, but this gets loud. I listen to podcasts that come through great. So does Youtube music. I like nice things, and this fits the bill, but I'm no audiophile. This is a 14 watt $30 - $40 hefty speaker. It pairs with my Samsung automatically when I remove the audio jack connected to my computer. My phone displays a volume warning :) There are more expensive speakers, but I like this and bought one as a gift. That family likes it, too. ORIGINAL: Super Speaker for an Average Joe I've had this Oontz for 2 months and 2 days. I use it every day as it replaced a 5.1 speaker set for my laptop. Most often I listen to spoken podcasts. Great sound with solid base that is clear and loud. I connect it to my laptop by USB and use the AC power cord. When I purchased it, I thought I'd disconnect the cords to carry it into other rooms, but the sound is loud enough without distortion that I can hear it well from a distance. Audiophiles may want more sound controls than just volume, but for this average Joe, this Oontz performs better than I expected.

Some improvements and downgrades over the older, micro-USB version
If you're like me and wanted to upgrade from the micro-USB version, either because the port started to become problematic or because you're tired of having those old cables around, there's good news and bad news. If you're not, you can skip to the last paragraph for a more general summary. Bad news: The sound quality doesn't seem to be quite as good. It's not a massive difference by any means, but it seems like the bass isn't quite as good, and music can sound slightly more muddled on it. Good news: It seems to be more responsive to inputs. With the old model, when you skipped a track forward, there was a substantial gap between when the track skipped and when you could skip the track again. You had to really develop a rhythm if you wanted to skip ahead multiple tracks at a time. With this model, you can almost spam the button to skip tracks forward. Subjective news: The power button now requires that you hold it down 1-2 seconds in order to turn the device on. I personally like that the older model just required a single press to turn on, but it's true that it made it very easy to accidentally turn on when you just wanted to stow it in a bag or something. The current model's functionality in that regard is probably more responsible, but it's a matter of preference and ultimately a small detail. Overall though, I'm really happy with this new variant, as I was with the old, and it's a great bluetooth speaker compared to others I've tried in the same size and price range. The sound is good, the volume is great, and it's a pretty rugged build.

Exceptional and richer sound quality with incredible bass in its range. Listening music is enjoyable
• Exceptional and richer sound quality in its range. • Bass is incredible and lets you enjoy the entire low to mid to high range without damaging your experience. • Surprisingly clear at max volume. • It comes in basic packing for well protection along with a standard micro-USB cable and 3.5mm male-to-male cable. • When handled the feel is premium with solid and rubberized sides. • Controls are good with raised symbols that can be felt when lighting is low. • It dances its way around while on a hard surface at high volumes with high bass ;-) • Simple to pair. Speaker and microphone during phone calls are also of good quality • The battery easily lasts more than 20 hours when played under 50% of its peak volume By IPX6 rating, it is nice to know that it is water resistant and it can be splashed on while by a pool or a beach or more likely water spill on it. I did not test it after getting addicted to its sound quality. o A battery level indicator would have been a nice addition o Sometimes the Bluetooth audio has continuous interruptions in playback when it resumes music playback after a phone call. Maybe a firmware upgrade can fix it.

Just go for this much better wound quality and bass than Sony or JBL
Excellent product, robust built quality and awesome sound experience. Impressive battery life for a long drive

Buenos speakers

Best value for money
Great sound quality, no distortion even at max volume, very good fidelity and frequency response, full and reach sound, with enough bass, clear mids and highs. Battery life is great, no connectivity issues. Surprisingly loud for it's size, though it's more adequate for interior than for outdoor. It has a short delay between sound and image on video, but software update solves that. Nice design, sturdy enough for everyday use (mine has been fall from the table cause of vibrations from the bass and it still works). I own the first speaker for about a year and bought the second a month ago. Two of these paired in left-right mode is a very good job, they sounds a lot better, with even more clear sound, volume and true stereo separation. I think you can't get anything better for the money.

Oontz speakers are best choice for mature buyers
Great balanced sound for all purposes from podcasts to music. If you are a total bass freak, or a teenager, maybe buy another brand. The Oontz Angle 3 Ultra is all about clarity - not hiphop, techno or acid house music. But don't worry, it can play very loud if needed for a biggish room or outdoors. My taste runs to everything from The Eagles to Taylor Swift, from The Beatles to Miley Cyrus, and from news and sport to ASMR sleep videos - the Oontz Ultra is perfect for all these uses! By the way, Oontz speakers come with really EXCELLENT instructions in perfect English.
