How do I make the monitor brighter?

There is a tiny little wheel switch on the right side marked "OSD". This wheel controls the brightness, wheel up to brighten, down to dim. The wheel also controls the volume, press down then wheel up to make louder, down softer. You get the idea.

How do you connect this to a MacBook Air(13-inch, early 2015)? The thunderbolt to usb-c cable is connected and it's plugged in and still not working.

If it’s not turning on You may try using the additional cable and plug it into a power source the thunderbolt to USB C may not be giving it enough energy to power the device on.

What do I need to get this to work with a Surface Pro Laptop? Thunderbolt to female HDMI then male HDMI to USBC? I can't get this to work

I connected my Surface with the HDMI. Then press the windows key + P to set it up. It won't detect it automatically.

How do I save full 100% brightness for the monitor each time I plug it in? Each time I plug it into my laptop, I need to manually increase the brightn

Generally, I have not had to do anything, and full brightness remained. But sometimes I had to manually adjust it again. Occasionally, my laptop screen became a little dimmer for a while, despite being set at 100%, when the portable monitor was plugged in. This seems to be fine now.
