Capture the Moment, Not the Light! 🌟
The Nikon DK-5 Eyepiece Cap is an essential accessory for Nikon D200, D70S, and D50 digital SLR cameras, designed to prevent light from entering the viewfinder during self-timer or remote release operations, ensuring optimal exposure and image quality.

It Does Exactly What It's Supposed to Do
No problems, no issues. I'd buy it again.

Good Fit
My son gave me his old camera that had some parts missing. This fit perfectly.

Where is it?????
Meh. Works, but more difficult than expected taking on and off. Also it's so small I lost it after using it once. Now I don't have one anymore :'(

Nice to Have When Making Extended Exposures
Perfect fit in a Nikon D5500. Does the job at an inexpensive price. Easily snapped in place to prevent problems with stray light during extended exposures. I'm disappointed Nikon didn't include this with the camera, but I'm happy that I could easily obtain it from Amazon at a good price.

Replacement DK-5 Eyepiece
Since this piece is so small, I decided to pick up another one and the price and availability from Amazon fit my needs. This is an exact manufacturer's replacement part and covers the eyepiece if you are taking long exposures or timed shots and keeps anything in the eyepiece from changing your shot. Used with my D7000 but also works with my D50 DSLR.

I'm happy. It's there when I need it
What can you say about an an Eyepiece Cap? OK, it's precision made and it fits. I lost one of these before. So, this time I tethered it to the camera with a small string. Now, I'm happy. It's there when I need it.

A solution to blacking out the viewfinder for night photography
Probably the cheapest product Nikon sells but it is a useful one for night photography. I bought a couple because I am sure I will lose them. Works well but you could achieve the same result with a piece of electrical tape over the viewer but then you might have a problem with the adhesive.

Nice to have
I always lose these things but if you use a timer, or live view, or remote shutter, this will help reduce the light from entering the viewfinder and bouncing around in your camera. Most times it's not a big deal if you don't use it, but these are good to have for those really sunny days. The DK-5 works for the N80, D40, D50, D7000, D600 and I imagine all the current cameras.
