As long as you take your time, you're fine. The directions are a little unclear, it's true. It's a beautiful piece, and everyone who sees it loves it. We received it on Saint Paddy's Day!

Do not purchase this bar. The material is engineered wood, laminate, and metal. The hardware is too small to handle the weight of the material and will crumble upon assembly. The bars total weight is 156.2 pounds. At first, a small piece broke off where the fastener meets the "wood" which I ignored. Then, when an entire right side panel crumbled where the 2 pieces and hardware meet, I asked for a replacement. Which they sent me. Only to have more pieces crumble upon assembly. I had 2 people helping me with assembly so don't fall for the excuse seller gives about needing more than one person to assemble, or having it professionally assembled. I am in the process of trying to return this item since April. The hassle of returning this is just as frustrating as the assembly. I refuse to pay for shipping it back to seller. It will cost me almost as much as the $500 I paid for this bar. The seller will not issue me a prepaid shipping label. I have contacted the actual furniture company, Coaster Furniture, and they refer me back to seller, Cartesian Partners LLC. They all know this unit is defective due to material and hardware issues, but still sell this item. The reviews show a 2 out of 5 on Amazon and I should have listened. Just a forewarning to any one thinking about purchasing this item, DO NOT.

Sturdy nice quality bar

This is a beautiful bar however the instructions are not very clear or easy to follow. The value, once built, is really great!

This bar is definitely not worth $600.00! The quality of the particle board is VERY POOR. The bar collapsed while I was putting it together; screws did not coincide with the pre-drilled holes. When the bar collapsed, 2 pieces of the bar broke apart in multiple areas. The front side of the bar isn't one piece, it is three very flimsy pieces of poor quality particle board. One item was not included in the box. I emailed the seller regarding this and seller never responded. The seller was very difficult to work with; absolutely no customer service in any way, shape of form.

After trying to assemble this bar we ended up discarding it. Every time we had to attach another piece the previous piece would puncture. There ended up being so many holes it just want worth continuing. We would have attempted to send it back but when it arrived the largest box was compromises and my husband had broken them down for trash. I rarely write reviews but I want to warn others. This bar isn't worth 100.00 let alone almost 500.00. I should have listened to them previous reviews but I didnt, expensive lesson learned. The real problem is the poor quality of the bar, and the horrible instructions.

Buy at your own risk. I saw this bar in a furniture store but they wanted more to deliver and assemble. I found it on Amazon and saw the reviews but I took a chance. It did arrive with pieces chipped and broken like the other people that left reviews. Too much hassle to return and I think the seller knows that. Use caution when putting together, don’t rush. Overall it is a piece of furniture that is worth about $400. If you take care of it I think it will last.

The frame itself is very easy to assemble and the guide is pretty clear. however, when attaching the sides, it is very easy to damage the wood fascia. I would highly suggest having numerous people to help lift, support the frame so the sides can be attached without damaging in process.
