I was intrigued by the many one-star reviews complaining that the box was impossible to open. I imagined countless middle class dinner parties ruined by fractious squabbling and nasty injuries as dinner knives corkscrews and an host of other unsuitable make-shift tools were employed in increasingly desperate attempts to access the gold medal winning Bordeaux. I bought this product with the hope and expectation that the challenge of accessing the wine contained within the “unopenable” box would be an entertaining party game and help ensure that my wife’s birthday dinner was a fun and memorable event. As it turned out my wife has a secret tool kit stashed on top of the kitchen dresser and, with the help of her daughter, managed to open the box with a screwdriver and claw hammer while I sang “Sisters are doing it for themselves” to encourage them.

Had to literally smash the case open to access the wine which was a shame but the wine was lovely 😂 and made a great gift 🎁

Item arrived well packaged and looks great. Perfect for a gift and exceptional quality no doubt. My only issue is the bottles are enclosed within the wooden case and it requires physical force to remove them. May not be helpful for people with limited dexterity or other restrictions.

Beautiful presentation case with a lovely tasting wine. I brought the gift for my Dads birthday and he had to smash open the casing to enjoy the wine. Such a shame this has not got a slide lid to open it spoils the experience. Unfortunately, I will not buy again because of the restriction's with the casing.
