XFasten Double Sided Woodworking Tape 1 Inch x 60 ft (3-Pack), Double Face Woodworker Turner's Tape for Wood Template, Edge Banding, Routing, Anchoring, Strong Adhesion but Removable and Residue Free

Double-sided tape is just the ticket for temporary fixturing in woodworking, say for setting a router guide strip or template, or ganging workpieces to allow cutting multiple to the same size, etc. Double-sided tape comes in quite a variety though and not all are suitable for this purpose. The key is good stick but also clean removal. The key for that is that the tape have some sort of binding layer that keeps it together during removal, and also the right adhesive. This tape gets both of those right with some sort of cloth binder in the tape that keeps it all in one piece during removal, and an adhesive that holds firmly, but removes cleanly without leaving any adhesive residue to interfere with further processing or finishing and also without pulling up any wood grain while you're at it. So far I've used this on hand-planed softwood (SPF) and it removes readily and absolutely cleanly. The hand-planing could be a factor since it produces an extremely smooth surface and leaves the grain firm. There could be variation on a rough-sawn or coarsely sanded surface like plywood, I suppose I'll find out. But so far, this tape is extremely satisfactory and leaves nothing to be desired. I would definitely do it again and recommend.

works exactly as it should -holds strong & comes off clean and easy

Great product. I bought the 1/2-inch and it is all that I need for holding a pattern to wood for use on my router table. And, a little goes a long way - it is very economical to use. It holds well and removes without any residue. Tip: cut it at a sharp angle to make it easier to remove the liner.

This stuff is great in every aspect in the description...my only complaint - don't laugh - is that it is too strong. I purchased to attach router templates to wood. Easy to use, applies very easily. Easy to remove from the wood surface but separating the wood from the acrylic template is difficult. Don't get me wrong, it is an excellent help in the wood shop - I just wish it was a little less strong. I've learned to use less than I would expect to need to adhere the templates. I do recommend the product.

This tape is wonderful. Sticks like crazy. Removal is not too bad when you're done. Leaves no residue on my wood or the drill socket which I use as a sander. It holds the sandpaper I tape to the socket as a small sanding device.

I heard about XFasten Double Sided Woodworking Tape from a woodworking internet video, where it was highly recommended for router work. I had previously tried several carpet tapes, but I didn't like their performance. I went on Amazon and in a day or two I had a 3-roll pack delivered to my door. After several days of use, I must say that this tape does a really good job of holding my work down when I’m routing. Even a little dust in the environment doesn’t phase it. The adhesion is so good, I wondered if separating my work from my sacrificial base surface would be difficult, but it was not a problem. I sometimes use a thin, slotted screwdriver to start the separation, but otherwise, my work pieces separate using my bare hands. When separating the workpiece from the base, the tape separates cleanly and in one piece - it doesn’t tear into pieces. So far, I haven't seen it damage any wood surfaces. Removal of the used tape from a surface is easy and I’ve seen no residue left behind. An excellent product.

Works Great.

Love this stuff. Every shop needs some

Woodworking should buy

Perfecto para proyectos de carpinteria

Premium quality and easy to peel. For easy removal, consider removing it soon as you are done.

I use it for holding wood when routering and cutting, stays firm in place, yet strips off without residue. Highly recommend.

Great product for holding work pieces in place, temporarily. Came as a 3 pack.. I will definitely purchase more as the price was fare.
