Great product at a great price!
I have had a Greenworks leaf and garden blower for several years and it works great. I ordered the pole hedge trimmer because I have large holly hedges in front of my house that are a pain to trim with regular trimmers. Right out of the box, all you have to do is slip the poles together and you're ready to go. I trimmed about half of my hedges in just a few minutes. It was great not to have to drag out the extension cord and also stand back from the prickly holly bushes. I had an appointment so I will finish the job tomorrow. A big plus is that the batteries on the trimmer and the blower are interchangeable. Like a lot of people said, it is a bit on the heavy side but it is very solid and well made and the blades are much better than on the old corded trimmer I have. The four year warranty is a big plus. The trimmer head adjusts to 7 different angels so you can trim in a position that is comfortable. The only thing I would ad is maybe a shoulder strap due to the weight but it is really not so heavy as to be unusable. I am a senior citizen and really did not feel any discomfort. I have an irrigation system so my hedges grow quickly and need trimming often. This trimmer will do the job for me! I gave it five stars for battery life based on my 40V blower which has great battery life after several years of almost daily use.

Greenworks WORKS! Not your everyday hedger.
I’m going through TKR (Total knee replacement) and being able to mow our yard became an issue. That issue turned our area around the house and barn into a weed forest. With stalks over ten feet tall and some with over two inches in diameter, using a string weeder wasn’t going to “hack it”. I have a Greenworks tree trimmer that has performed very well, and this unit allows me to have extra batteries and charger when needed. So I had an idea. Since the head on the hedger rotates, I decided to try it on weeds. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with its ability to effectively cut through what it wasn’t designed to do. With a wide shoulder strap I purchased from Amazon, it allows me to knock down weeds for well over an hour in a single charge. This hedger is a beast and has run flawlessly, shoot I might even find something to trim with it.

great trimmer
This trimmer is a very good choice for those that need an extended trimmer a few times a year. For those who need a long trimmer more often, like professional gardeners, this is not for you, you will need the $800+ trimmer. This trimmer is built well, but made of cheaper and thinner material, thus heavy and often uses will likely lead to early failure. I cut about 150 linear feet of hedges and still had battery life. It cuts well too. I think if you don't push its obvious limits, it should last. I figure, if I get 2+ years from this it is worth the price.

Pleasantly surprised - I just ordered teh extension pole too
I've had a echo hedge clipper for 20 years. (short) It's HEAVY but not a problem and always starts. I needed to reach out and up. Hoped for lighter weight. I was totally confused picking a 20V most said not much power. So I went to search for 40v and there were only a couple. This one cost more than the smaller ones but oh well. 30 min battery life sounded very short. It comes today. Feels really cheap plastic. WELL I WANTED LIGHT. The battery was in a big battery case but light. I figured I'll probably return it to Amazon. So I tried it. I'm taking a break after what SEEMED like a hour of clipping. (AND STILL NOT DEAD)). During the clipping of two huge magnolia trees (I had to on a ladder to get the top of both). A few hedges and a few boxwoods. I was sold. I thought wow this is so much easier than my 300+ dollar echo gas unit. It's not perfect - doesn't do it all but I kept thinking I LIKE THIS. Cons.. Balance seems off. Seems like it needs another 18-20" to the length not to reach out forward further. (as it's already hard to hold out there) but because more length would move the fulcrum a bit and the extra length would make the saw end feel lighter. FLASH I just noticed they have an extension pole option. I JUST ORDERED IT. That should really help with balance. I also wasn't nuts about lack of adjustable length. But it seemed to work well as is - and now with the extension pole It will be more balanced AND will have a couple of length options. I won't cut the 3/4" branches that the echo gas does but I am surprised how fast it cuts the 5/8 or what ever size they are. They seems larger than 5/8 I don't have to move slowly - it has power and cuts fast as I can swing it. I'm going to go up from 4 to 5 starts because I found the extension pole. HOWEVER now it's a bit pricy at around 240.00. If it HOLDS UP - it will be worth it.

Awesome tool
I have several greenworks tools. Every one of them work flawlessly. I got this hedge trimmer today and I tried it this afternoon and it worked amazingly. I am very pleased with every greenworks tool that I own and they all work on the same batteries. I have a 20-in mower, a leaf blower, and 8 in chainsaw pole, a weed / grass trimmer and now this hedge trimmer. Best decision I ever made
