These are soft, THICK sateen. We have used one pair for a year and I just ordered another set because I can't find Wamsutta sheets anymore. These are even better. The pillowcases have a pocket design. The fitted sheet is elasticized all around but in addition each corner has about 2' of elastic that fits at the bottom edge of the mattress in each corner, (there is an extra 4" beyond that for the large elastic edge that goes UNDER the mattress. Because they are so thick they wear like iron and I don't think we will be worrying about them wearing out for a LONG time due to the soft, durable fabric. These feel like luxury sheets and half the cost or less. Not slippery, non-allergenic, OEKO-TEX certified. You won't be disappointed.
