With our last A/C tuneup we were told that we would have to replace the capacitor soon and given a price. It was hundreds of dollars to unplug the old one and plug this one in. After watching a few videos online, I felt comfortable enough to do it on my own. Took less than 10 minutes and saved us a bundle. The product seems to be working well and standing up to the Florida heat. Save yourself the money, taking time off of work to be home for a tech, and feel good that you are able to repair something in your home yourself. This is the most common A/C repair and costs owners thousands of dollars over the lifespan of their system. Using this item, that cost drops to maybe $100 over the lifespan of your system. Cannot recommend this enough.

This part was a perfect replacement for my failed capacitor. Time will tell if it lasts but it was so cheap and It’s such an easy fix, I’m not really worried about it. If you own a home, I highly recommend you learn how to replace this capacitor. It only takes 10 minutes and it will save you hundreds of dollars, especially if you have to do more than one in your life. My AC unit is under warranty, but only the parts, not labor. So it would’ve cost me $200-$300 to get this fixed under a warranty claim. This is a much better option.

It's keeping my compressor unit running. These are worth having on hand, as a spare. Not difficult to change out, just be sure to disable power to the compressor unit and don't touch the terminals on the capacitor coming out of the unit, as they can store a charge (even after the power is disabled). Aside from shop-vaccing out a clogged condensate drain line, this is probably the easiest home owner "AC system fix." Expect an AC contractor to charge $125 at the low end, to come out and change one.

It fit my Rheem ac unit perfect. For a 2 prong fan.
