Essential Replacement for Mercedes 722.6 Transmission – Why Doesn’t Mercedes Include This?!
It’s crazy that Mercedes doesn’t include a transmission dipstick with their 722.6 transmissions, but thankfully this ATLIN replacement works perfectly. It fits like OEM, feels durable, and makes checking fluid levels so much easier. ✅ Pros: – Perfect fit and quality that matches OEM standards – Easy to install and use for fluid checks – Durable construction, feels like it will last – Solves a frustrating gap in Mercedes’ design ❌ Cons: – None—exactly what you need if you own a 722.6 transmission 💡 Tips: – Check fluid regularly to maintain transmission health – Pair with quality transmission fluid for best results – Keep this dipstick handy for maintenance or troubleshooting 🧠 Bottom Line: If you have a Mercedes with the 722.6 transmission, this dipstick is a must-have. It fills a surprising gap in Mercedes’ design and helps you keep your transmission running smoothly. Highly recommended!

Great tool and a must have
Excellent tool, packing and delivery I would have preferred to get a specific vehicle model dipstick, but that is not the case so you just have "feel" how far to push in. This is no fault of the shipper nor manufacture. Would buy again for sure.

Good Dipstick. I Mean "Tool"
This transmission fluid level measuring device, as Mercedes likes to call it, works fine and comes with clear instructions. The reason I left one star off is due to the fact that this tool is used for a variety of vehicles so it is not designed to go all the way into the tube. It is too long so you should be careful when inserting it and stop feeding it when you feel the end hit the transmission pan. Instructions say the handle end will protrude from the tube about 12". On my Mercedes Sprinter van it only stuck out about 3". It is easy enough to read the level and the tool seems to be made of quality materials. Price seems fair. I would recommend this to anyone.

Saved my 2002 E320 w210 transmission.
Without getting into the debate or bashing the sealed for life transmissions, this thing was a life saver. Well, at least a money saver. Only downside it that it’s just way to long. I’m sure it’s so they can sell the same one for a dozen engines but would be easier to use if it was made for the length of my engine and would pay double for that customization. But for the price I can’t complain. Great price and worked well to let me know that my slow leak in my sealed for life transmission had leaked way more than I thought. Bought fluid from Walmart rated and verified for this transmission (I was shocked too). Topped it off and check it weekly. Don’t bother with the cold reading, it’s so hard to know what cold really is. You have to have the car running and it slowly heats up, so it’s not really reliable. I had to let it run for a while or drive it a couple of miles before checking on hot range. It’s the only reliable way I could ensure the same reading. Topping off your fluid is tedious. Add about 1/2 cup to a cup at a time, cycle through all gears for 30s each and back, before checking the levels again to see how much to continue adding. For me, the first time I was so low it took about 30m of repetition, 45m including warm up. Now it takes about 20m including warm up. Or 5-10m if I check it upon returning home. Stop wondering if your sealed for life transmission is really in need of some TLC.

It is not designed to stay in the transmission tube
I bought it to replace the missing dipstick on my 2001 Mercedes SLK 230. I was surprised at its excessive length. It stuck up at least a foot above the top of the tube. I was going to reject it when I read the directions and realized that this vehicle didn't come with a standard dipstick like an American car. It has a locking cap at the top, which is what was missing and the dipstick is external, which is what this is. It works and performs the function it was designed for, so I have to rate it accordingly. Now I have to find the Locking cap.

Works
Seems pretty cheaply made but it is effective at checking the transmission fluid level on a T1N van.
