I love everything about this well made, well designed, electric kettle. Precise temp control, reliable "stay hot" timing. Perfect for my pour-overs. I wish it were a little bigger, but in fairness, I've never needed it to be any larger so far :)

Great Kettle!! Temperature is adjusted by dial so any temperature you desire. I have had this one for at least 5 years and use it just about everyday and it has given me no trouble. The small spout makes it perfect for pour over coffee. (207 degrees) It is fast - I heat my 21-24 ounces of room temperature water for my coffee in just under 3 minutes. Perfect for boiling water also. Sometimes I wish it was a little bigger. Maximum capacity is about 1.2 quarts. Auto shut-off is a nice feature. Water stays at the selected temperature for 30 min. I dry it out after each use and have never had to clean it or descale it. Looks great and doesn't take up a lot of space on the counter.

This is amazing but once you empty it and you set it back down on the base the base stays on and tries to heat the pot and that's probably not good for it, you hear a loud click after a few seconds and it goes into overheat protection and I think that shuts it off but honestly I kind of wish that when it was done heating to the proper temperature it would just shut down instead of stay on to keep your liquid warm I mean I'm guessing most people are going to heat up the water, empty out the water and not need it to keep your stuff warm. But as far as looks and how well it works, I would say amazing, it appears to be really good quality and it looks great. It works great, I just wish it didn't stay on, personally I don't need it toI guess it is nice though if you pull the tea kettle off and you hold that power button down it turns on a timer and I guess if you do need it to keep your water warm then hey it'll do that for you so there's definitely some pluses and minuses to that part but I like this thing, I'm just worried it's going to be hard on when I occasionally forget to shut it off and it's empty

Update idk? A year in?I accidentally broke the spout while bringing it with me when visiting family. Unfortunately at this time there are no more in stock outside of Ebay Japan. I have since replaced this with a Govee gooseneck kettle, but honestly I miss this kettle all the time, to the point where I sometimes consider buying it off Ebay for $180+ (I think MSRP was $120 but I originally got this for $108 on sale). I am actually genuinely a bit sad about this every time I'm reminded of it.Anyway, it is a great kettle and very much no-nonsense. I feel this is probably the best you'll get before the ROI starts dwindling. Though I think a fair price for this would actually be closer to $100 than MSRP.----------------Update @6 months in:Still working well and heats up just as fast as the first day. I’ve found myself starting to prefer the handle over the Fellow EKG style so I guess it’s a whatever-you’re-used-to situation.Works well with tea but may be a *tad* slow for french press coffee.New use cases I’ve come across:+ Boiling/preheating water from cold for cooking+ Using remaining water to soak utensils and such to scrub off the harder bits of food+ Same thing as above but for stainless steel pans+ Exorcising my inner demons (jk)——For context, I previously owned the Greater Goods gooseneck kettle, which was a very solid kettle and poured very well. My main reason for upgrading was that I wanted to have a kettle in my work office for midday decaf or the like. Additionally, the kettle poured too slowly for the Tetsu Kasuya technique with the Hario Mugen.No issues whatsoever—it pours well, heats up very fast, has large capacity, and has maintained temperature well.Things to note:+ Compared to the GG kettle, this doesn’t pour as intuitively. That’s not to say it doesn’t pour well, the GG kettle just happens to be that good with regards to pouring+ As many have stated, this kettle tends to pour fast. Many complain about it, but the way I see it is that one simply has to learn better technique/adjust. I’m not a barista by any means, but I am able to control the pour decently well imo, just takes practice and some mindfulness. A tip: if you want to pour more slowly, try tilting the kettle a bit—learned this with the GG kettle and it helps with controlling the flow. You can think of it like twisting a wine bottle as you finish pouring.+ It is kind of noisy but not any more noisy than one would expect from any kettle really+ While it is annoying how the base automatically turns on when you take the kettle off, I have not had any real issues with the base+ Base knob is pretty satisfying to use imo. This is more on the subjective side, of course. Just feels smooth with tactile clicks (they’re silent) to me+ Knob button clicks are also pretty nice to me—not loud and has a pleasing sound to it imo+ Can’t evaluate the timer function or its accessibility as I use a scale with a timer+ I definitely prefer the handle type you’d fine on a Stagg Fellow/GG kettle. That being said, it’s still quite comfortable to use, and it feels fairly balanced and intuitive. I like it, just not my first choice+ The balancing of the handle makes the kettle feel lighter than you’d expect and easy to handle, but you still feel the weight of the water+ The quaint aesthetic is pretty nice and fits in with most kitchens. Unless you have a more modern style kitchen and kitchenware, the kettle will look great and fit in nicely+ The round base is quite a nice unexpected “upgrade” for me actually. It has a smaller footprint than the usual square bases and contains grooves underneath that allows you to route the wire such that it can come out about 30 degrees to the left, out the middle, or about 30 degrees to the right+ A caveat to the previous point: the power cable is a bit annoying to keep in the base routes as it is quite stiff widthwise. Minor inconvenience at worst though+ Base and kettle feel sturdy. I have no doubts the kettle will last. Can’t comment on the base longevity though as that is moreso a time-will-tell situation electronicallyAdditional uses I didn’t think about till it popped up:+ MREs+ Theraflu+ Sauce packets requiring boiling/hot water to thaw+ Mac and cheese sauce packets whenever applicable+ Portafilter rinsingWill update as time passes

Wanting my different varieties of loose-leaf teas to be brewed at their varying optimal temperatures really feels like a first-world indulgence, and maybe that's why I put off this purchase for so long. After all, my 1-liter small-footprint stainless steel UtiliTea electric kettle still works perfectly after many years, just boiling water and shutting itself off. It has an analog dial with painted-on green, brown, and orange lines that supposedly indicate settings less than boiling, but I have found it to be useless. I finally splurged on this Oxo gooseneck pour-over after reading many reviews of similar kettles and considering my water-heating habits, and I'm here to say that an accurate digital kettle is a total game-changer.The Oxo uses a dial, and I switch teas every day between black, green, oolong, and sometimes herbal tisanes, so to minimize the dial-turning I set it up for Centigrade. Now, the problem with standard auto-off kettles is that they keep boiling for several seconds before shutting off, which de-oxygenates the water, and the taste of your tea suffers - as it also does if the water is too hot or too cooled down. The Oxo shuts off and beeps the instant it's reached temp, and from the tea flavors I am now enjoying, the temps are exactly right. For my Chinese Yunnan black breakfast tea, I've decided on 99°, just barely short of a full boil, and it is perfection. The Oxo gives you precise control, there are no presets, which might be faster - by what, a second or two?If you're a tea connoisseur, get yourself a digital kettle, you won't be sorry. There seem to be other models that cost less, so read the reviews carefully for performance, features and footprint. 1-liter models are pretty small.

This kettle is replacing my Bonavita electric kettle that suddenly stoped working after 10 years so it's difficult to not compare the two side by side.First impression is that it is not as well made or as intuitive on first use.The stainless steel is thin and the OXO feels a lot lighter.The handle is riveted instead of screwed onto the kettle. Rivets on kettles and pans are well known to fail after they receive heat for a few years. Some people like that there is no plastic from the handle on the inside of the kettle but innovations of plastic for cooking appliances has come a long way from being a poison. On the Bonavita it does not touch the water nor does it stay heated long enough to be a negative thing.... To me.It is a lot noisier than I'm used to when heating water. It sounds like a train that is a few blocks away. LOL..The handle on the OXO is super comfortable and it's much more pleasant to use than on the Bonavita.The pouring is not as smooth on the OXO. You cannot pour as quickly due to the shape of the kettle being more cylindrical on the OXO as opposed to a wide bottom and narrow top. If you pour quickly, water will dispense unevenly through the spout and through the top of the OXO. You have to keep it at a certain angle which slows down pouring.It heats water quickly and is a good looking kitchen appliance from a well known company that started by making products for handicapped people and carried it on to kitchen appliances. That's why every OXO product is a "good grip" product. They make great handles on everything they produce.I'm being super critical and I'm not unhappy enough to return it unless it quits before it's time. But if this is going to be your first electric kettle and you haven't had a higher end one, you will be totally satisfied. It does what it's meant to do with a few quirks and does it quickly.

I've had this kettle for about 3 1/2 years. I make pour over coffee or black tea in the mornings. And, anything I need boiling water for. I've used this nearly every day since purchase and it's still works as it did new. I never leave water in it after use and I set the lid between the handle and kettle rim so it can completely dry. I've only had to descale twice because of light scale which was very easy. It's very easy to use. It remembers your temp setting. I don't use the timer function. This is well built and I will be buying another if/when it fails.

I could tell that this kettle had the potential for crapping out because the dial was below where the water was. That meant, if OXO didn't have good enough gaskets around the dial, water could leak in to the electronics and damage the circuits.And with a kettle, you're dealing with water, so eventually things get wet.Nevertheless, I was very, very careful, keeping the base of the kettle dry at all times, cleaning up the tiniest drop. Once, water clearly got inside, and the display went nuts. I literally put the base in a bag of rice. DON'T DO THAT!!! It did work, but took me a few days to shake all the rice out of the interior nooks and crannies!Anyhoo, the kettle worked for another 6 months no problem, and then more water seemed to get in around the control knob. Again, this should be part of the design. But ever since then, I've only been able to get the kettle to work twice. Once was after unplugging and replugging it 7 or 8 times and pressing the control button who-knows-how-many-times.I originally paid around $80 for the kettle. Now it's more. I bought OXO because I don't need anything super fancy, just something functional, I liked their design, and I've always had great success with OXO. CLEARLY they cut corners on the quality. I'm a long-time kettle user. I know a good kettle when I use one. I've never had a kettle for so short a period of time. What a waste of money.This kettle is poor quality and seems like planned obsolescence.

I bought this kettle after reviewing several other similar electric variable temperature-controlled gooseneck kettles on the market (there are really only about 4 or 5 worth considering). My main purpose is to use it for daily pourover coffee brewing, in which both temperature control and precision pouring are important (but not necessary). It ended up replacing my other basic kitchen kettles (e.g. the big box store kind), and it has been an excellent daily driver.Great points:• Dial and button are very intuitive to use: turn the dial to temperature and push to start• Keep-warm feature is no-fuss, switches automatically and keeps temperature even after you remove and replace the kettle without any additional button pressing• Very quick to heat: 1L of filtered water from room temperature (22°C) to boil (100°C) took approximately 4:40; at more typical coffee brewing temperatures (90-95°C) the water will be heated somewhere between 4:00 and 4:30 - basically the same amount of time it will take to grind and set up your brewer for the morning. The speed of heating is due to the 1500W power draw, which is one of the highest for variable temperature kettles and comparable to many quick-boil devices. For comparison, you can calculate that a 1200W device will take about 6:00 to come to a boil from room temperature and a 1000W device will take about 7:15. Will those couple of minutes change your life? No, but you will encounter it every day and it does help if you're the impatient sort like me.• Built-in timer is easy to access and use, it counts up as a stopwatch would, perfectly suitable for timing your coffee pours - you won't find any way to adjust it to a countdown or anything more fancy than thatPoints of note:• The capacity is pretty much exactly 1L as advertised. Measuring 1L from a beaker and pouring into the kettle will reach just at the bottom of the "Max" fill line. Since this is a gooseneck kettle, it is not really possible to over-fill above the line, since pouring water much above the line will result in spilling over the top of the kettle spout and any water bubbling as it boils will likely cause boiling water to spill out (this is not a design flaw, as every gooseneck kettle will have this issue due to the physics at work).• The power draw at 1500W is not generally a problem if you have a proper household wiring system. Older houses with questionable circuits and less tolerant breakers will probably face some issues, particularly if this is plugged into the same outlet as, say, a microwave or a toaster oven operating at the same time. For most houses there shouldn't be a problem.This is an excellent device and is an improvement over other manufacturers' designs. It also conforms to OXO's industrial design sensibilities and is a decent looking addition to your countertop if you are into the classic brushed stainless steel look. Of course, the appearance is subjective, but the design is timeless with the simple dial and read-out without additional buttons. Definitely recommend.

Dangerous product. High risk of burning yourself. Hot steaming water comes out of gooseneck when boiling water.I added 350ml of water and started the kettle. Boiling was fast but I almost burned myself. I was lucky when I want not near the kettle the first time, I used it. When the water started boiling a steaming hot jet stream came out of the gooseneck. Do not even consider buying this product. It has a design defect and should be withdrawn fro the market immediately.

Lo que más me gustó es que trae un cronómetro incluido que es bastante útil para tener todo bajo control. La capacidad es de alrededor de 800 ml y los calienta en muy poco tiempo.

We've only had this for a day but already love it. It's very elegant looking, easy to setup, detailed instructions on the box and you also get an instruction book. The features are great, controlling the temperature, keeping temperature for 30 minutes, etc, and there is even a temp guide on the base for whatever drink you're making (coffee, tea, etc)It is smaller than a regular kettle, but if you're like us you never needed to use a full kettle of water at once, and honestly it heats up so fast that if you did need more water you're not waiting that long for more hot water.Do keep in mind to pour the water slowly because of the goose neck, but it won't take long to get that hang of it. The first try we did tip it too much and water leaked from the top.We decided to get this as we are getting rid of anything plastic in our kitchen that touches hot food or liquid. There is no plastic inside this kettle at all, however there is a very small bit of silicone around the thermometer on the bottom inside of the kettle. We would prefer the kettle to be completely metal but seems to be impossible to find when looking for an electric kettle so we're compromising with this small amount of silicone on the inside.
