Intex Surface Skimmer Frame Set Pool Bracket

Improved design is the perfect solution to our skimmer basket problem! As shown in photographs by a previous reviewer, the intex clamp "spreads" at the top over time, and so the skimmer basket cannot be clamped tightly to the side of the pool. The basket floats up, air gets sucked into the pump, and everything has to be shut off. Wedging an old flip flop under the plastic"bolts" only worked so long. The new design with reinforcement at the top curve should help prevent this warping/spreading of the clamp. It is REALLY hard to find intex pool parts anywhere, and when you do, you usually have to purchase more than you need (e.g., they wanted to sell us the entire skimmer basket assembly, with basket and hoses, when all we needed was this clamp). The price of this part was very reasonable, and with prime shipping, we got it in two days. It's on the pool and working exactly as we hoped. No more hopping out of the pool to get air out of the pump!

This bracket is the exact replacement for the bracket that comes with the intex skimmer. It is a necessary part to hold the skimmer to the pool frame. However, these things do not last long. When you tighten the screws enough to hold down the skimmer it will eventually bend or break. This part works perfectly and is a great price. Order an extra.

I am very impressed replacement parts were available for this skimmer! Not a high dollar item to start with, it makes a huge difference constanting removing items that fall into the pool. (I was ready to but a full replacement kit) This is an original replacement part, really important since in full sun the plastic parts can become very brittle. Replace the part in only seconds! Approved!

They finally fixed the bending problem, which was that the top of the bracket would bend out of shape in a few days and no longer hold the skimmer in place, especially with the "heavy duty" pools that have the oval frames. I've had mine for a few weeks now and have not had to adjust the bracket at all. It's exactly in the same shape as it arrived. GREAT IMPROVEMENT!

We bought the 24' x 52" pool in the Spring of 2011, and used it A LOT that year. Our pool is in constant sun and this bracket seemed to get brittle and it broke at the very end of the season. This was the only place that I was able to find this part and the shipper was very prompt in getting it out to us. I am very satisfied, it is the exact part I needed. I was able to get it on and the pool up and going even earlier than last year.

This is the exact replacement for the bracket that came with the pool. It is not supported very well so if you over-tighten the screws, it will snap in half. I put this in last year and the sun has caused it to warp a bit. I'm sure it will end up breaking like the first one did because of the sun and the fact that it's made of plastic. I've seen some posts of people who tried to reinforce them by filling the holes with something but I don't see how that would be much better. Basically, these pools and equipment are not made to last for more than a few years.

This is an updated model from the one sold with my original skimmer kit. Much better design! It holds tight onto the top rail of the Intex pool where the original model did not. It has more reinforcement in the curve area to stop it from opening up when clamped tight. Otherwise, it is a direct replacement part that fits like the original.

I had my Intex pool about two months and my skimmer kept slipping due to this. Tightened it some every couple of days and it finally broke. Tried to order it from Intex and they were "out of stock". After reading other reviews I can see why. I ain't alone, podnuh! Anyway found some outfit that had some and got a new one. I tried fixing the old one first with waterproof epoxy, but it turned out to be flexible and broke again. Finally got it going with some corner braces, ugly, but worked. Some reviewer used Bondo on his and that's what I'm going to try on my new one, but for the rest of this season my old ugly one will suffice. Will fill up the holes on my new one with the Bondo for next season. This is my second Intex pool and basically they're all right for the price, but they ought to send out replacements for this crap. Some of the reviewers are giving it 4 stars even though the old replaced one, which is just like it, broke. What??? -- Larry A
