Black lives matter

Short, to the point, informative, filled many gaps in my knowledge. Has an excellent audio edition which was great to listen to in parallel.

Not just for kids
The descriptions say this is written for kids, but that really shouldn't deter anyone from reading this. If you want a 3,000 page in depth history of the US, or don't mind buying ten 300 page books, go right ahead. But this is a quick-paced, easy to read book that covers things concisely enough for just about anyone. For example, a description of the Reformation and the impact on US history? About 3 pages. I'm really enjoying this book and plan to keep it handy for quick reference.
