I've gone through a few meat thermometers, but this Escali AH1 is by far my favorite for roasting. The 2.5-inch dial is massive and incredibly easy to read through the oven door without having to open it and let the heat out. I love that the target temperatures for beef, poultry, and pork are printed right on the face—it’s a great quick reference. It feels solid, it’s NSF certified, and my roasts have been coming out perfectly cooked every time.

Doesn't work

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for this product because it has truly impressed me. From the moment it arrived, I could tell it was well-made and of high quality. What every cook needs. This is lighter weight that I would have liked; but works fine. I'm satisfied and happy to have bought it.

As far as a thermometer goes, this is a pretty bad one. I cannot speak to the veracity of the other reviews for this product, but mine doesn’t perform. It takes forever for it to respond after being stuck in meat. The reading is slow. By the time it figures out what temperature it “might” be, the dish has been out of the oven for too long. I’ve had so few other thermometers in the past because they have all worked for decades. This? I wasted $10 on this. I’ll have to replace this one for one that does what it says.

Got this when we cooked a turkey. Good quality thermometer. Easy to use, just stick it in the turkey. Easy to clean as well as the thermometer is one piece. We hand-wash it.

Works perfect

Used this to make Lamb for Christmas dinner this year and we wanted to cook to internal temp not to times. This was perfect. Went in the oven with the meat, was easy to read and being able to set the little dial to what you need was great. Measured temps against my electronic one and it was spot on every single time. When needed I will buy again. But I don’t think that will be any time soon as also very well made and put together

Trop souvent tendance à cuire la viande de toute sorte. Problème réglé avec ce thermomètre simple et efficace. Comment se fait-il que j’ai attendu si longtemps avant de m’en procurer un relève d’un mystère!!!
