Clear Naked Whey

I wanted a lighter alternative to my normal protein shakes and thought I'd give Naked's isolate a go since I've used their protein blend for a while (I don't actually love the flavor, but I love that there is no BS in it). The fruit punch whey isolate has a decent fruit punch flavor, but the main drawback for me is that it is very sweet. Adding more water obviously helps, but it also waters down the flavor, so I generally add a little citric acid to help balance the sweetness out. I'm avoiding added/free sugars and sugar substitutes as much as possible, so I may be a bit sensitive. The foam also takes more than "a minute" to subside if you use a blender- more in the 5-10 range. I generally shake it in a mason jar with no blender ball and it works out pretty well, adding ice after an initial shake. It definitely fits the bill for a more easily drinkable protein drink- I'd rather be drinking this than any standard shake on a hot day. I've tried one other clear isolate from another company and while the flavor was ok, it had more unecessary ingredients, was even sweeter than Naked's, and bugged my stomach (I don't have any problems with Naked's or whey/casein/egg in general). Will buy this again, BUT... I would LOVE if Naked came out with an unflavored, unsweetened clear isolate. I would buy the $#!+ out of it. That way I could control the flavor AND the sweetness level (including sweetener) or add it to coffee, recipes, etc. Come on Naked!

I saw an advertisement for clear proteins awhile back and was on the hunt to find one without stevia or artificial sweeteners as I am unable to digest thwm. Finally came across this one and it tastes pretty good, mixed well in my shaker, and has a good protein content for the amount of calories. I wish it was slightly less expensive, but so far it has helped me reach my protein goals and there are no signs of digestive upset from it. I'm overall happy with it and find that following the mixing instructions garnered the best results.

The flavor profile is way too sweet. I could not finish one serving! The company and amazon would not refund. I am super upset as I use other Naked products. I reached out to Naked to see if they would at least let me try another flavor or exchange for a different product and they said, no. =(

Good flavor. It does mix weird. It gets foamy and even kind of chunky. I added a lot of extra water.

I like that this taste exactly as described, however it is a bit too sweet but won’t stop me from using it. I do hope they tame it down a bit tho. It’s hard to find protein supplements out there without a bunch of junk in it, so the search stops here. I will never switch to any other. I hate artificial sweeteners, they are so bad for us. The fact that the ingredient list isn’t a paragraph long full of words you have to look up says it all! Thank you Naked Nutrition

solid choice for protein. I enjoy the flavor and am more apt to drink it versus a thick shake so it actually gets used. I do have a hard time getting it to mix in completely and it took some figuring out to get it right (thank goodness because the white foamy chunks at the top otherwise are unappealing). I've found it works best if you do room temp water, shaken vigorously several times with some pauses in between and adding ice and any extra water once it is fully dissolved. my MIL is pretty picky and she started "borrowing" some of this from me before I sent her a link to get her own

Dissolves quickly and easily, taste is very reminiscent of red kool-aid. I find this to be my go-to post workout drink when I know it’s going to be hot out and I don’t want traditional protein powder. The clear whey feels refreshing and I like that this brand has very clear, limited ingredients. I’ll repurchase.

Have been looking for better ways to get my protein in, and this IS THE WAY! Protein always has a little chalky taste, but honestly it isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I would 100% recommend adding about 1/2 the total water when shaking up to limit the clumps. I found if you did this, and then put it in the fridge for a few mins the clumpiness was really diminished. I have ordered this a few times now and I’m excited to try additional flavors!
