Very different in a good way.
I've been curious about digital weights but most digital home machines come with features that I didn't care for that were driving up the price. I got the Apollo Board because it has the features I was looking for a good price. The device feels very solid and well built. So it is fairly heavy - 80 lbs. It does take a bit of getting used to to fold and unfold. It is compact; about the size of an old school suitcase when folded. The resistance is very smooth. Feels different from traditional weights because there's no momentum. So no sense in using your legs to assist you with overhead presses. The Standard and Eccentric modes are what you'd expect. The Eccentric mode is set to 70% up and 100% down, and it gives you more workout during the range of motion. There's no eccentric-only mode (yet) but this 7/10 ratio works very well for me.The Isokinetic mode is unlike anything I've ever used. I like it a lot. You don't set the weight. The harder/faster you pull, the heavier the resistance is. So you can lift at your failure point during all your reps. It has 2 settings: Slow and Fast. The Fast setting requires you to pull faster to get more resistance. The app is free. NO subscription required. Many different exercises are available by themselves or categorized into different workout groups. It can keep track of your workout metrics. I'm not sure if there are any live classes available. If there's one negative point, if you're struggling or making jerky movements, the machine may count that as a rep.It is also worth noting that the machine I got had a software update, which suggests improvements/additions could be made on the software side in the future. The base package comes with the board, handles, carabiner clips, ankle straps and a belt. And also a remote switch that starts the resistance. I will be looking into their bench when it becomes available. So far, I've been using a gym ball and half ball in place of a bench. So far, I'm loving it. It' s NOT a resistance band system. It's a digital weight, that has features that only a digital machine can offer And I can do just about every lift I do with free weights on this machine, including some of the heavier lifts. Well worth the buy.

Love the board, hate the app….
Love the board itself, app seems to be completely useless. Cannot setup a user profile as soon as you try and setup a street address the keyboard glitches out and immediately resets….will be returning if I cannot get this sorted

nice machine just make sure all the accessories and parts are received
It is a nice machine. I bought to replace the Apollo mini that had a broken cable after 15 months of daily use.Beware if you receive a coupon for $300 off from Amazon. I believe it is because the item is an open box. There was no indication of it being an open box, but it was obvious from the scratches and missing items. It was missing the remote switch and one of the attachment hooks. I returned it and ordered one that I hope is brand new.Received 2nd order, same issues - seems to be used or refurbished item, missing wireless switch.I contacted manufacture directly with support ticket. They will send wireless switch within 6-8 weeks as their customer service representative says it is considered a warranty issue even though product is a week old, so no expedited service available. I am in their warranty queue. One more attempt to get a new machine without any missing items. Contacted Amazon, they sent an advance replacement.Received the advanced replacement - again, same issues.Contacted Amazon customer service again. It was suggested to me by Amazon customer service to return and not buy anymore. They sent in defective product line report to whomever at Amazon takes care of such reports. It's too bad. It is a the only machine of it's kind in this price range. Other machines are geared towards guided workouts with fancy touch screens. I just need a no frills workout machine.

Gets the job done!
I really like the Squatz Apollo board. I purchased this 5 months ago and have used it pretty much every day since. I have now lost 72 lbs since beginning this workout regime. Only another 10 to go and I'm at my ideal body weight. I am almost 60 and in the best shape in decades. What I like:- So many exercises. If you can think of a workout with weights this system can replicate it.- Connects to the app flawlessly.- The included app tracks your progress and allows you to customize your workouts.- Portability! I didn't want a full-room workout system. I put this in a spare bedroom with a murphy bed. When guests come over I collapse the Apollo board and roll it out of the way, drop the murphy bed down and voila - instant guest room instead of gym.- Feels very solid - well built. If this system doesn't last a long time I'd be surprised.- The Bluetooth weight enable/disable button allows for safe workouts even with the largest of weigh - well thought out.- The optional resistance band bar adds a lot of flexibility to your workouts. What I don't like:- I purchased this back in Dec. 2022. I was waiting for the promised bench to come available. I ended up purchasing a 3rd party bench that fit my needs, but when lifting very strong the Apollo board can lift off the ground. So I learned to put the bench on TOP of the Apollo (it's very strong and can support any bench resting on it). While not ideal it does the job. Now just this week Squatz finally released the matching bench! So now I'm going to order the bench that'll always keep the Apollo board on the ground. (this is nit-picking but it was a negative nonetheless).- It's pricey. Well all things considered it's not as much as you CAN pay for a whole gym system.Overall extremely happy - would totally recommend.
