Great Replacement for Joycons
I bought these to replace the original Hori controllers I had. I was a big fan of Hori’s larger joycon replacement and used them for well over two years. Unfortunately they began to drift due to normal wear and tear. One thing I worried about when buying these was the decrease in size compared to the other Hori controllers. I can say with certainty that the change in size is not an issue. Hori makes great products that are excellent quality and a great value. One of the biggest advantages for me, compared to normal joycons, is the size increase that comes with them. I have large hands and find joycons very uncomfortable. These fit very nicely in my hands and are more comfortable for my ten year olds hands as well. Quality wise they are on par if not better than Nintendos controllers. I’m very picky when it comes to controllers and tend to not use anything but OEM. These controllers are the only exception, I would use them over joycons anyday! Thumb sticks are great, buttons are smooth, the added programmable buttons and turbo are just icing on the cake. However, there are a few trade offs with these if you’re unfamiliar with Hori. First and foremost these controllers do not have internal batteries. You can not use these seperate/disconnected from your Switch. You do get a nice weight reduction from the lack of battery though. Secondly, there is no RFID reader in these controllers. You will need to use joycons if you plan to use Amiibos. Overall you will not be disappointed in these! You literally can’t go wrong for the money you’re spending and will enjoy these over joycons….especially if you have larger hands or find joycons uncomfortable. Please note that if you’re planning on mainly gaming through your tv or playing split screen multiplayer you will need other battery powered controllers! These are only for handheld mode but make a world of difference to myself and many others. If you’re considering these and mainly play in handheld mode then do yourself a favor and purchase these. Also big props on the special versions of these! I purchased the pikachu and mimikyu variant without any regrets. As a die hard Pokémon fan these are the cutest and have probably the best design of any Pokémon controller on the market hands down.

Amazing! (Read whole thing)
I recently had the yellow and grey version, but returned it because I regretted getting it and wanted to order those Binbok joy cons.long story short, I trust hori more so I got these. Before getting them, I played some games without rumble (to see if I would be okay without it) and decided that I’m most games rumble isn’t that significant. It would still be call if they added it though. And motion controls I NEVER use. I got the gengar version and it does not disappoint. It really looks amazing. I do not regret it, the quality is good, back buttons are a cool addition, and so are turbo buttons. The joysticks are definitely the best part about them, and while playing Pokémon suite of Mario odyssey, they make the game play ALOT better. Face buttons are a bit mushy but not that noticeable, D pad felt a bit stiff at first but then felt much better after a while. Triggers are clicks and responsive and so are the shoulder buttons. Back buttons are also clicks. They are lightweight. My favorite part though has to be the design and color way. It looks really cool and sometimes I just sit there and admire it. And compared to the joycons, the ergonomics are perfect and they even have a texture in the back of them. All in all, I definitely think these are worth it and gaming with them is a whole experience! Edit: less than one month later. I didn’t use my switch for about a week, and when u started playing on it again, everything seemed to be fine. Then out of nowhere, the lady controller just did not work anymore. I am going to return this, I really wanted to like. I might try again but this time with the red version.

Get them!
These controllers are excellent quality. There’s absolutely no drift, and they work exactly as expected. My husband wanted a larger controller because the original Switch ones are too small for his hands, and these ended up being a perfect fit. The buttons press smoothly with no sticking, and the grip feels comfortable even if you have smaller hands. Overall, great value and we’re really happy with them.

Almost perfect!
This was a very lovely and beautiful replacement set for the original switch joycons a lot more cheaper than buying an actual original set of joycons and I will say this these joycons add more size to the overall measurements of a standard switch the way the controllers are ergonomically shaped to feel a lot more comfortable in your hands is very impressive there's a few extra buttons so if you have bigger hands like me you can program the other two smaller buttons to those other buttons underneath the handle parts the decorative finish was done very well all in all these are amazing and great replacements compared to the stock original Joy Collins the only thing stopping this from having a perfect score is that my kids have certain games that have unlockables and the only way for you to use the special items or unlockables is when you place your amiibo figures onto the joy-con that way their internal NFC magnetic system picks the statues up and unlocks those special in-game items that is the only downfall this controller has other than that if you play games that don't require those amiibos then you are golden great replacement cheaper substitute very comfortable in your hands and the way that they're shaped just gives the switch a whole new look and feel about the way the console is but again if you require those amiibos for Mario kart to unlock different characters or carts or even super Mario maker to unlock new playable characters and in game items you will not be able to use those amiibos with these controllers.

Great controllers
These controllers are great! They do not have rumble, nfc support, and they do not work wirelessly. However they do have style. They're ergonomic for longer play sessions. They have bigger face buttons, a decent dpad, grippy larger thumbsticks, and back buttons you can assign a button press to on each respective side. They also turbo mode. The one criticism I would give is that the plastic piece jutting out the back towards your switch sticks out in a way that you cannot fit any sort of case whatsoever on your switch. It's helps to sit the switch up on its back but it mostly more of a hindrance. Otherwise great controllers and licensed by Nintendo.

Works, great joy cons alternative
Works perfectly. Got tired of fixing my joycons all the time, so got a cheap alternative, and they are better than the joycons. They dont function as motion controls like the Wii Motes, but the lower price justifies that. Also, way easier to play First Person Shooters with these than with working joy cons anyways. Even works on a modded Switch running Android. Only complaint is they didnt come in black when I bought these.

Compact Pika 🥰
***NOTE: These are strictly for handheld mode use only. It has no internal battery for wireless (is why they are so light weight), no hd rumble or any rumble, no gyro and no amiibo functions. Home button is also finicky when it comes to waking up the Switch from sleep mode.*** Hori products offers great 3rd party officially licensed Nintendo products! Been buying their stuff for previous devices like DS and PS Vita. These controllers are a slightly slimmer version of Hori Split Pad Pro which are also my favorite for playing in handheld mode when it comes to the Nintendo Switch. These can only be played in handheld mode as they don’t have internal batteries to play wirelessly. I find regular Switch joycons causes fatigue, hate the analog on them and I always need a full body grip to use them more comfortably. The Hori Split Pad controllers both Pro and Compact have solved a lot of my issues with the official Nintendo joycon controllers. Other third parties just can’t compare to the Hori controllers quality, even if some say they feel cheap due to how light weight they are. They don’t have dead zones when it comes to the analog sticks! These are lightweight with backstand “nubs” on each controller to help counteract the weight of the device as you play. Removing these backstand “nubs” will cause a slight dipping when you hold the whole Switch unit as one. So removing them would defeat the purpose of these nubs, I highly suggest keeping them as they are to prevent the controllers from snapping off the Switch controller rails. The controllers are responsive with assigned key buttons you can keybind yourself. Just remember that you can’t cross keybind between the controllers meaning if you want X button on the right controller it can only be assigned to that controller, not to the left. Wish Hori would find a work around for this in the future. I haven’t had any stick drift on my Hori controllers both Pro and the white/yellow Compact versions that released way before these Pokémon themed ones. The buttons on these Compacts are more mushier than the Pro versions which I still very much like as I like clicky and mushy buttons. So it’s all personal preference. I love anything Pikachu and was so happy this version released in USA. The matching Hori Pouch also fits with these controllers attached to the OLED version. The print on the controllers are nicely detailed while being toned down vs the more bold themes of the Pro versions. Here’s hoping they don’t fade with use overtime. A tad overprice when you can easily buy a Nintendo Switch Pro controller for a bit more, but again it’s great for handheld users like myself :)

Better than joycons
They're slightly thicker and bigger than normal joycons, I bought it because my rails are broken. They work well and they feel good in your hands. The buttons are response and i like the turbo mode + extra buttons on the back. You can only use them in handheld mode, which isnt a problem for me but be aware they dont have batteries so you cant disconnect them.

Best controllers
Absolutely adore these, the print is fun and happy but the controllers are just such a good product. They feel like full sized controllers and don’t have the flimsy feel of the joy cons, the joysticks are in a much more comfortable place and overall they feel better in the hand. Granted they don’t have rumble or Bluetooth so they have to be attached to use them but I only ever use the switch that was so they are perfect. 100% recommend

Cheap and NOT Wireless
They are half the price of original, but they dont work in detached/wireless mode (!!!) This was not clear to me when I got them. They feel extremely cheap. They weigh almost nothing. Since they are wider than a regular joycon and the cheap plastic flexes a bit there is a leverage effect which makes it feel like they will snap off any second. I would not let kids use them because I am sure they would break immediately. They work totally fine in attached mode. Would have been 4 stars (at least) if they were wireless.

Cool controlers
My son loved these controllers ! They worked just as good as the original ones . Looks really cool! Only down side I found to it so far is that they are bigger so they do t fit in the carrying case with the system .
