I’ve used electric toothbrushes for many years, both Sonicare and Oral-B, but this is the best I’ve owned yet, by far. First impressions are that it feels solid and well made. The speckled finish is unusual and quite attractive; the body of the brush is grippy without feeling rubbery. The screen wakes automatically when you pick it up, which is a nice touch. The charging base is solid, looks good and displays the current time, which is another nice touch. It holds the brush in place magnetically, which means there are fewer nooks and crannies to collect dirt. The travel case seems fine, and will certainly protect the brush, but doesn’t feel quite as premium as the brush and stand. In use, it’s much quieter than my previous brush, an Oral-B Pro 2500, which sounds positively agricultural by comparison. The cleaning action feels gentler, too, which suits me, as I tend to brush too hard. The pressure sensor is also very useful in this regard, as it seems more sensitive to hard brushing than previous brushes, and shows when the correct, or an incorrect amount of pressure is being applied, via lights on the brush, base and in the app. The toothbrush, app and base all paired easily, although when I copied and pasted my Wi-Fi password into the app it wouldn’t connect to my network; I had to enter it manually. Once up and running, everything works smoothly. The base has lights which illuminate, in different colours, to indicate your progress as you work your way around your mouth. This is useful, but the app is very much more detailed, and indicates how well each area of your mouth has been cleaned, and where further cleaning is required. It’s almost uncanny, how accurately the brush/app determines where the brush is in your mouth at any given moment. Occasionally it tells me I’ve missed a bit, and doesn’t seem to register when I go back and brush the area again, which is a little annoying. However, generally, I’ve found it accurate, and quite motivating, and I don’t skip brushing and flossing in order to maintain my streak in the app. The app identifies trends, and you can view the information recorded during previous cleaning sessions in the history section. Unfortunately, there’s no mount or stand supplied, so you must hold your phone in your hand while you brush your teeth. In terms of the cleaning performance, it’s obviously subjective, by my teeth really do feel squeaky clean afterwards, as if I’ve just been to the dentist. The cleaning experience reminds me of a previous Sonicare brush, but I much prefer the smaller, more manoeuvrable Oral-B heads. The battery life is excellent, a vast improvement on my last toothbrush, and it charges much faster, in around 3 hours. The toothbrush screen displays a graph showing exactly how much power is remaining, including the battery percentage. In summary, I think this is a superb toothbrush. It’s very good quality, cleans my teeth beautifully, motivates me to do so regularly, and the app provides all the information about my brushing habits I could ever want. Highly recommended.

The packaging was my first impression was different looked high class and expensive When I looked through the box I immediately noticed there was only one brush head for the cost of £800 I would of expected at least another brush head once one had been used this was disappointing When using the brush it gave a good deep clean of my teeth and within a week I could see and feel the difference and gave a better shine on my teeth which really did impress me I changed it when I first used it and haven’t charged it since so has lasted 8 days now without another charge which again is impressive It is a little expensive thou happy I brought it when it was reduced and not £800 I love LED display as it encourages you to carry on brushing where was without this you have to estimate it but using the coaching it helps ensure your brushing for the right time I’d recommend it for others who have become a little lazy brushing as it’s certainly helped me and encouraged more and better brushing There is also a carry case idea for housing the brush when going on holiday or weekends away to keep it safe and damage free due to how expensive it is L

WOW what I can I say! The iO 10 is jam packed full of features, and that’s just the brush and charging dock. The brush itself has 7 different brushing modes as well as real time feedback and pressure sensors allowing you to perfect your brushing for the optimum clean every time. This combined with Oral-Bs unique round brush head with gentle micro vibrations, help lead to a cleaner fresher mouthfeel and improved gum health. The dock provides 3D teeth tacking that starts off with 6 blue sections (middle, left and right for both top and bottom teeth) which subsequently turn white when you have perfectly cleaned that section. This is also mapped via the Oral-B app to which I will get onto in a moment. The dock holds the brush magnetically when not in use so that it doesn’t fall while also displaying the current time. The dock easily plugs into any shaving socket or can be used via mains plug with the aid of a EU travel adaptor. Moving onto the app. It was easy to find and install from the app store and guides you step by step as to how to set up and connect your brush via WiFi and Bluetooth. Once set up there are a vast array of options and data insights it provides to help you get that optimum clean. From daily coaching and average cleaning scores to a history of all your brushes, the app and brush seamlessly work in sync to provide all the information you need to guide you to that perfect clean. There are also challenges to complete which result in the award of a medal; all helping add to the interactive experience Oral-B provides. However, if all the app malarkey is not your thing you can quite simply use the “unguided’ brushing sessions via the brush and doc. Although if you are not used to using an eclectic toothbrush, or haven’t used one before, I very much recommend getting as much guidance and feedback as you can via the app as it takes some getting used to compare to using a manual brush as I found out. Overall the iO 10 definitely has all the style and substance needed to help improve your oral health all while adding a little bit of interactive fun into the mix.
