can the material get scratched easily or tare?

I'm not sure how 'easily' this fabric will scratch and/or tear. However; I sew a lot and tried to fit this cover similar to the chair in the diagram, I believe it's okay if it's going to be lightly used for certain occasions but not for daily use.
