Great value & look!
Far surpassed my expectations! I normally don’t take the time to write reviews but this Marshall Bluetooth speaker is too rad for me not to share! I had compared similar size speakers at different price points and chose the Stanmore 3 for our vaulted ceiling bedroom. We just started using the Moongate app for sleep sounds and I wanted more bass for the Theta tones. My wife is a fan of Bose but comparing components and reviews the Marshall line wins. Very pleased with the quality of sound—clear lower eq and nice treble adjustment. I’ve played a variety of genres so far and they all sound great. I glad I went for the Stanmore instead of going up in size and price. As my daughter commented—it totally fits the vibe and aesthetic of our mid century modern home. I highly recommend this speaker. I went with black to save some money over the higher priced cream or navy.

Incredible Sound and Absolutely Beautiful Design
The sound quality is fantastic—rich, clear and powerful enough to fill the room without losing detail. I also really like the physical controls and classic Marshall design; it looks like part of the room rather than another piece of electronics. Pairing is straightforward and everyday use is effortless. Easily one of my favourite home audio purchases.

HUGE Sound, Tiny Footprint, Awesome Bang for the Buck!
I have a decent collection of Hi Fi gear, from vintage Yamaha, NAD, and Klipsch, to Primare and Definitive Technology. It can get a little complicated when you just want to "turn it on and listen to background music." My wife needed something simple to satisfy that requirement. And this unit does it in spades! Connectivity with this unit is a non-issue: turn it on, pair it with your device, and play--you do not need an app to get it up and running. The controls could not be more simple: there are six in all, but the volume, and maybe the bass and treble are all you will really need. And now there is the quality, WOW! The look and feel of quality on this unit is beyond ANYTHING that I have spent a mere $300.00 on! And that quality extends into the sound. Sound is so subjective that I am not even going to try to describe it, except to say that it is BIG, CLEAR, and DETAILED. I have never heard anything like this at this price point. We have a small house (1300sqft), and this thing fills it well. My wife loves it! Just a point that I must mention, but that in absolutely no-way reflects on the quality and value of this unit: they (Marshall) claims that this unit produces a wider sound stage than its predecessor. And while it might do just that, I have never heard the previous model for comparison. While I can state from first-hand experience that the sound is HUGE, especially when one considers its size, I cannot say that a full stereo sound-stage has been achieved. With that said, this unit is PERFECT for anyone who wants incredibly simple ease-of-use, HUGE sound, beautiful retro looks with all the modern tech you need--and that won't break the bank--well, this is it.

The Marshall Stanmore III: More of a Good Thing
A month ago, I replaced the smart speaker in my kitchen with a Marshall Atmos III speaker. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to retire the smart speaker in my bedroom and replace it with Marshall's larger Stanmore III. The purchase was part Father's Day gift and part splurge. The Acton III had already impressed me with its rich, room-filling sound. Its bass was warm and satisfying, its treble clear without being harsh, and it delivered a level of musical enjoyment that made me wonder why I had tolerated a smart speaker for so long. The Stanmore III takes that same formula and simply gives you more of it. That is both its greatest strength and its only caveat. For most people, the Acton III is probably the smarter purchase. I suspect that 99 percent of buyers would be perfectly happy with its performance and would appreciate saving the additional money. I would, however, choose the Stanmore over the Acton, if you listen to a lot of classical music because the bigger Stanmore produces a better soundstage for classical sound. The Stanmore III is larger, louder, and more powerful, but in a typical bedroom its capabilities border on excess. Mine certainly does. Fortunately, excess can be delightful. Setup was effortless. Because I had already installed the Marshall app for the Acton III, my phone immediately recognized and paired with the Stanmore. Within minutes I was listening to music. One feature I particularly appreciate is what the speaker does not do. It produces no distracting hiss, hum, or electronic noise when idle. Whether playing music, podcasts, or sitting silently between tracks, it remains impressively clean. For my initial listening session, I sampled a wide range of music, including Glazunov, Dvorak, Khachaturian, SZA, and The Marías. The Stanmore handled each with confidence. Classical recordings sounded expansive and detailed, with excellent separation among instruments. Contemporary music had energy and punch without becoming muddy or fatiguing. Across genres, the speaker delivered a presentation that was rich, articulate, and lively. Podcasts fared equally well. Whether streaming from YouTube or Pocket Casts, voices sounded natural, clear, and easy to listen to for extended periods. Speech reproduction is often overlooked in speaker reviews, but for anyone who spends hours with podcasts, it matters as much as musical performance. Ultimately, the Stanmore III succeeds because it never tries to be clever. It is not a digital assistant disguised as a speaker. It is simply a very good speaker. If you already love the Acton III and find yourself wanting more volume, greater scale, and additional power from its 80-watt output, the Stanmore III delivers exactly that. It is, quite simply, more of a good thing, and I can recommend it without hesitation.

Great sound and looks good
I got this on sale and love it - easily fills the room with high quality sound. Overall it has a lot of bass, and can drown higher tones at low volume. If you need something for a small space, get something smaller. Easy set-up and has tuning controls. Looks amazing too!

A great designed ruined by idiotic bluetooth choices
The Stanmore III could have been the perfect speaker. The audio quality is flawless. The physical controls are sensible and not over- or under-engineered. The aesthetics are wonderful. None of that matters if you can't play audio the way you want to! The designers have decided in their infinite wisdom to hardcode a TEN MINUTE BLUETOOTH TIMEOUT. If you don't play audio for ten minutes, your speaker goes to sleep. That's right. A speaker that is powered by a wall outlet GOES TO SLEEP AFTER TEN MINUTES of no audio. Why? The documentation says "to save energy." THAT'S WHAT THE POWER SWITCH IS FOR. IF I TURN MY SPEAKER ON IT MEANS I WANT IT TO CONNECT AND BE READY TO PLAY AUDIO. How???? How are they this stupid that there's no way to make an AC powered speaker behave like every other AC powered speaker in the universe? Seriously? I can't turn off the network timeout feature???? ON A POWERED SPEAKER?????? It's criminal that the designers have ruined what is otherwise an amazing piece of hardware with a completely bone-headed bluetooth "power saving" decision and provided no way for the owner to change it. I'm just…beyond frustrated and filled with unending resentment that my $350 speaker is this dumb. Fix this, Marshall. It's like, five lines of firmware code and one extra button on the mobile app to make this work. Put an intern on it. I'll do it for free. Just fix it. Fix it. Fix it. Fix it. Fix it.

Worth buying!
Love the Marshall Stanmore! It looks amazing with its classic vintage design and sounds even better. The audio is rich, clear, and powerful enough to fill a room. Easy Bluetooth setup and solid build quality make it a great home speaker. Bought this during prime sale and definitely worth it if you care about both style and sound.

Great for a bedroom
Maybe not the loudest for a large living room, but for a large bedroom, it is amazing. Sound quality is great. Connected to a vinyl record player and really happy with the output quality.
