How Not to Kill Your Houseplant: Survival Tips for the Horticulturally Challenged [Peerless, Veronica] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. How Not to Kill Your Houseplant: Survival Tips for the Horticulturally Challenged Review: Fantastic. Great for beginners - I absolutely love this book. It's great, it is a quick read that provides a lot of concise good information on specific species of plant. The general idea of the book tho is "Don't overeater" but I do like this book and it's helpful enough. Not something I have to look in all the time but that's cuz I took college plant classes. Review: Great for beginner plant owners! - Bought this as a gift because we like our copy so much! It's easy to use and gives you all the important information without being overwhelming.

Do-able advice that isn't overwhelming
I really like the organization of the "How Not to Kill Your Houseplant: Survival Tips for the Horticulturally Challenged" by Veronica Peerless. I like how it has the plants at the beginning of the book (with pictures too!) so you can go directly to those pages. The advice is good and do-able. I like that Ms Peerless doesn't go overboard with explanations because 'overboard' leads to 'overwhelmed' for me. I feel like I can actually follow the advice. My percentage of keeping houseplants alive has been about 60% for the last year. That's up from zero percent but I would like to do better. Having plants in the house really does make the rooms feel and look better so I want to get better and I think this book will help in that goal.

Good information guide
I bought this as a gag gift for my โplant killerโ daughter. It is actually a very good plant guide- which gives me hope that she may one day be less toxic to the plants she receives for gifts

This book is perfect, exactly what I was looking for. I needed an easy to understand book on houseplants as I have a few but Iโm very much a novice! A few of my plants started looking sad so I searched for a book to help me identify issues and to advise on the best ways to care for them, but I felt I needed an โidiots guideโ if you like. Something not too fussy but says all the basics that I need to know to not kill my houseplants! This was perfect! Lots of pictures, concise information that gives just the right kind of info. Covers a massive range of houseplants. Just brilliant! Iโve seen other books that waffle on, whereas this just tells you what level of light they need, what to do if youโre over/under watering. The absolute bare bones but the most important aspects of plant care. An absolute bargain! I do wish it had more cactus species included but Iโll keep searching for a cactus book as good as this one. If it exists!

This book was exactly what I was looking for. It lists a large variety of common house plants. It was exactly what I was looking for as the information is concise and to the point. I don't want to read about the author's life story or a bunch of excess stuff. What I did want was information on proper lighting, watering, etc. This is perfect. I can grab this book and have a quick look at what to do for each plant. It's also a nice small size. There's no information about how to propagate each plant but I don't mind that. It does list common signs of problems for each plant and how to respond to it. I also like the suggestions for best places to put various plants. If you're looking for something that will give you care information quickly and covers a large number of the most common houseplants, including cactus, succulents and air plants, this is the perfect book for you. If you're new to caring for house plants or, like me, you have a hard time remembering how to care for all your different plants, this is the perfect go-to guide to making sure your plants are getting the care they require (and what to do about it if they're not).
