How do you get no bleed thru when u paint the star, I used adhesive to stick the stencil to the flag

I put spray adhesive on the back of the stencil (3M super 77) and the best paint I have found is (rust-oleum primer 285001 universal bonding primer) Spray lightly every 30 minuets. It dries very fast and does not run. I have tried many. This works great for me. When I finis I use spar urethane finish which seals the primer
