Great bowls!
Perfect for my fat booty kitties. So I have six cats and they all eat at different speeds. If I use bowls without the ridges, then one cat is done in 5 seconds, and just throws it back up and then wants to steal from the others. These bowls have helped her a ton and she doesnt have any issues and gives my older cats time to eat before the little thief comes to check out their bowls. Great size. Clean great in the dishwasher. I have dropped them 100 times and they never break. Perfect size for cats. I wouldnt recommend this for a dog that is bigger than a Dachshund/Chihuahua/Shihtzu though.

BEST THING EVER
My cat would eat so fast, heโd puke. Now this slows him down and he hasnโt vomited since! I timed him and he takes 4 minutes and 50 seconds to eat his 1/4 c dry food.

too deep for my cat to eat out of
I had a more shallow slow feeder bowl for my cat but she was still eating too fast so i thought this deeper bowl might work better. i have no idea how people's cats are getting the food out of the ridges, i couldnt even pick a piece of food out with my finger. when i gave it to my cat she tried and then looked up at me like "wtf is this mom am i a joke to you" and just stared at me until i gave her the previous bowl back. i might try and see if she will be willing to try and get some treats out of it or something but if i couldnt pick the food out with my tiny 5'1 girl hands with nails idk how my soft chonky pawed cat is supposed to either. good quality though, if your cat can figure it out more power to it and it would definitely slow them down. my cat however, as stubborn and food motivated as she is, refused to try.

Good with reservations
Good for fast eaters. I put canned food in this. It helps tremendously. But can be a bit tough to get clean.

Great for snarf and harf cats!
We have a snarf and harf cat. He will gobble his food down and projectile vomit it all over anyone in his path. Being he eats a special diet he eats on the counter top and nobody wanted to eat below him on the floor because of it! He even harfed it on me! I decided to get this bowl after a funny and relatable review of it. I gave it to him and I can safely say this bowl was NOT approved by management! He gave me a lot of very pitiful meows over this contraption that was holding his food hostage. But no harfing! So we kept going with it. The first week he was eating about 1/4 his normal amount but I was ok with that as he is fluffy. I expected him to knock the bowl over but that didn't happen because of the rubber feet on the bottom. We are now several months in and the harfing has ended and he is eating his normal amount in the bowl. If I feed him in another bowl he gets mad as it's not "his" bowl! Well worth the money spent.

Not great for cats
Crevices too deep for my cat to reach the treats, was useless for me

It works for my cat
I last year, just before Christmas, my BIL brought me a kitty that had taken up residence on his porch. The poor thing had ear mites, worms and scarfed up food like a hoover vacuum. I tried 4 different slow feeder dishes for this little boy but he still managed to almost suck the food up. Finally I ordered this little gem. I will confess that in order to keep him from lifting the dish up in his zealous need to get to all that food, I super glued it to a 6x6 decorative yard brick. He did chew on the sides of the dish a little but then stopped as he calmed down over time. I like the design and it has survived both the gluing and the cat. I know how crazy gluing a bowl to a brick sounds, but it worked. He still uses the bowl but eventually over the year, I was able to separate the bowl from the brick. Now it's only the bowl and a little round mat that it sits on to keep it from walking all over the floor.

If you cat loves to eat too much...
If you're just trying to slow your cat down or feel it'd be good for your cat to work harder for food, I don't know that this bowl is the right one due to high ridges and some cats might be discouraged too much. However, If you have a cat that just eats too much and doesn't want to stop until they are full, then come back over and over, this bowl is for you. The first few days our cat didn't want to eat out of it as he was use to the normal bowl. Then he got use to it and after a week of using it, he's slipping his tongue between the high ridges and getting the food that's hard to reach.

Does what itโs supposed to
Works as designed. 1 of 2 cats would eat too fast and throw up after. This seems to have resolved that issue!

Lifesaver!
One of our cats would eat too much too fast and vomit every morning- (always on the carpet, never on the hardwood floor of course!) This bowl forces him to take a bit of time to either dig out or push the food out and therefore he eats slowly and cuts down on the problem. It took a few days for him to realize this was something he was going to have to live with, but now he has no problems and I have less clean-up! For it to be most effective make sure the food is below the level of the sides so the pet has to slow down and eat one piece/mouthful at a time.

Slow feeder dish
Great dish to teach your cat to slow down while eating. I am glad I bought it for my fur baby.

Too difficult.
I find the plastic way too hard, that my cat has an extremely hard time getting anything out of this. He has to tip the entire bowl over in order to get any food, which defeats the purpose of a slow feeder.
