is this case already modified to fit the xs as it was being advertised?

Purchased for an Xs June 2019. Camera and speaker gap at the bottom lines up perfectly in the case I was sent. Packaging had Xs and X on there so it may have been updated.

Does this support wireless charging without taking off the case?

It does, I bought a “just wireless” charger for it and it charged just fine, but I didn’t like the charger it was slower than my standard iPhone plug and wire setup, so I ordered this one , BGR claims it’s the fastest one for iPhones... it will come in Sunday 10/21 so I’ll get to see if it’s any better than the one it’s replacing https://bgr.com/2018/10/19/best-wireless-charger-for-iphone-xs-xr-amazon-sale/

Do the bumpers/edges come apart from the rest of the case?

It will come apart if you keep taking it on/off. If you put the case on and dont mess it with, these dont come apart

Are the screen and camera lens proctected with some spacing when phone is put on a hard surface?

Yes. The bevel of the face of the case is raised. If the phone falls on the face, the screen will not make contacts with the ground. This also accommodates a glass screen protector, but does not make the case absurdly thick. The design of the back has the camera recessed below a raised bumper. The back is not an even thickness, so the other three corners of the case have little raised areas so the case lays flat on a table. Again, this is not at a sacrifice to thinness.
