Melissa & Doug Let’s Explore Light & Sound Camping Lantern Play Set

My 4 yo granddaughter absolutely love this lantern! She likes that she has the control to power it on, and change its colors and sounds. Sometimes she goes under the table which is covered by a sheet, lights up the lantern, turns on the cricket sounds, and plays for hours! As a Melissa & Doug toy, the quality and durability is impressive. It is very bright and has educational value in addition to promoting creative play.

I got this lantern for my 2.5-year-old who wants to flip through books after I turn out the light at night. I want to encourage her interest in books and quiet bedtime routines. This lantern has been the perfect solution for her to see her books, but calm down. The picture I included is of the “white” light setting, which is the brightest. It isn’t super bright, but she is happy with it. It automatically turns itself off to save batteries, which was going to be one of my major concerns. Discussing what color she wants on her lantern each night is an easy diversion to prevent bedtime resistance, as she is excited to turn on her lantern! It comes with several colors and sound effects for each one. You just push the turn-button in to start and stop the audio. The other essential part of this lantern for me was the battery compartment being secure for safety reasons. It has a screw to keep her curiosity at bay, making me comfortable to leave her alone with the lantern at night. There are some cards that fit into the bottom of the lantern. They’re kind of a waste, but not a deterrent. I just threw them in her toy box and haven’t seen them since. It was a matter of time before they got lost anyway. They don’t add much, if any, play value. I also don’t think they are driving up the cost much either though … You’ll love this lantern, too, for your little one’s personal bedtime routine! Just buy it already!

My kids love this. They have used it in their rooms, when making forts, and have brought it camping. The light is bright, the different sounds and colors provide a good variety, and it has held up well to two kids throwing it around. It was worth the money.

I got this for my son for Xmas. I think it’s great for Autism sensory. It’s going to be cute for him to put inside his new bed tent he’s getting. The noises are soothing. It’s nice but it’s small & I feel it’s a steep amount for what it is.

Little kids love these! I had bought one for my three year old granddaughter. When our four year old twin grandchildren were in town, they loved it. I ordered one for each of them.

My daughter absolutely loves this toy as a night light, sound machine, and to go on pretend camping trips! The sound quality is great, the brightness of the light is perfect, the colors are vibrant! This toy is also very functional and durable! We’ve had it since Christmas and my daughter uses it a lot and we haven’t had to change the batteries yet!

My daughter loves this lantern. We recently went camping and she hardly put it down. The combination sound and light is neat. We just took the little disks out of the bottom because they kept falling out. I really like that there's the option to turn the sound off and just have the light too.

My grandkids love this lantern. Definitely worth the purchase. Just cute, fun and kid friendly. Melissa and Doug products are wonderful.
