Faraday Pouch for Car Keys - A Practical Security Addition with Room for Improvement
The Faraday Pouch for Car Keys offers a straightforward solution to counter the rising concerns of car theft using RFID technology. Upon receiving the pouch, I appreciated its compact and sleek design, allowing it to easily accommodate my car key fob. The build quality seemed sturdy, capable of protecting my keys from scratches and minor impacts, which is a plus. The primary feature of this pouch is its RFID signal blocking capability, and I must admit that it does work as advertised. Placing my car keys inside the pouch effectively blocked any unauthorized attempts to access or amplify the key's signal, providing some peace of mind regarding the security of my vehicle. However, the pouch did have some drawbacks. While the RFID blocking function was effective, it seemed to hinder the convenience of keyless entry slightly. I found myself needing to remove the key from the pouch more frequently than I anticipated, which became a minor inconvenience in day-to-day use. Furthermore, the versatility advertised was somewhat limited. Though it can protect other RFID-enabled devices, I found it impractical for daily use with credit cards or access cards due to the frequent need to take them in and out of the pouch. Faraday Pouch for Car Keys provides an adequate solution for protecting car key fobs from RFID theft. It offers a simple and reliable design, but there's room for improvement in terms of convenience and organizational features. If you're primarily seeking key security and are willing to sacrifice a bit of ease-of-use, this pouch might suit your needs. However, for those seeking a more versatile solution, you may need to explore other options on the market.

Maybe not best for carsharing
These are made well and work fantastically. It came exactly as it is described and it does block the RF signal. However, if you are getting a faraday bag to leave in a lockbox for car sharing or whatever, it is REALLY hard to squeeze these large bags into the standard size car window lockbox. In fact, I eventually decided to cut off the outer clip attachment in order to get it to just squeeze in, with lots of effort, and fit. By the way, the Chevy fob by itself fit wonderfully in the lockbox without the bag. Part of the problem is that it will fit more than just one fob - I suppose if you were using it in your pocket, you would also be able to store maybe a card or some cash and a few small items. The material is thick, as it should be, but it does fold down around the fob. Of course, then you have the thickness of the folded material to also contend with. So, if you have the time to look around for a smaller bag, in case you need to put the key in a standard single lockbox, this might work for you, or you might be better off with something smaller. For a faraday bag, if that's all you need it for, it's perfect and a good value.
