I thought I knew who the hidden prince was going into this. What a great story. Tessa Afshar has such great insight into the history and culture.

I like the short story format, easy quick reading, at times touching my heart, I can’t wait to read it again!

Every chapter brings a surprise. It brings to life the traditions of the day in which the story is held.

I love this story and the author is amazing! Exciting Adventure with personable and lovable characters, as usual in this author’s storytelling. Sweet and funny too. I highly recommend this book ! I’ll never forget this fictional yet possible peek at Cyrus…. Sure got my imagination going!

Writing biblical fiction is a challenge for many reasons. One of the biggest challenges is the element of surprise.Those of us who read the genre are usually very familiar with the storyline before we ever turn a page. We hope against hope for something different because we want to be entertained as well as informed. The thing we absolutely don't want is to be bored! The Hidden Prince is full of surprises! One of them being who the hidden prince is! Thought I knew by the title, but nope! I was wrong, and delighted to be surprised at the revelation.Afshar has done a masterful job of creating distinctive voices for all her characters, the young prince especially. "Give me that poxy tunic with the stinking bells. But if you ever tell anyone about this, I will have to gut you like a fish." POXY! I love it! And Keren's voice is very distinctive as well.The Hidden Prince is a beautifully written story filled with adventure, intrigue, love, and forgiveness. You really shouldn't miss this one. You'll love it.

I have all of Tessa Afshar's books, and many of my friends can't wait for me to read them so they can borrow them. I think this is my second favorite after "Pearl in the Sand". She takes stories from the Bible and expands them into a fiction using some historical facts and a lot of imagination. She has some wonderful insights into the heart of God from a Middle Eastern point of view.

Tessa Ashfar has woven such a gorgeous, heartbreaking, and emotionally insightful story. It spoke to my heart and circumstances in ways I did not expect. I just finished and I want to read it all over again.

I enjoyed this book so much full of history,intrigue,and God’s Word in it as well. Thank you Tessa I love your books.

I could follow the words of the bible along with this story and Gods words wiggled their way into my heart.I am closer to God because of reading this book.

Another brilliant novel by Tessa, so well researched and beautifully written. A period of history not quite so familiar comes to life as she traces the life of Cyrus, whom we all now as the redeemer and restorer of the exiled Israelites.Thoroughly recommend this book.Penny Callaghan
