Review: good product, affordable solution - We have been struggling to support our cat in light of vet fees so high we cannot even afford to do tests. Our cat has symptoms associated with thyroid and had inconclusive test results related to thyroid. Issues that have been going on for years have improved with this thyroid support product. Her coat is much improved, her demeanor is not so aggressive, and she seems more herself.
Review: This product kept our kitty going for several years. - Short version: This product worked for us. Your results may vary, so pay close attention to your cat while using these drops. Long version below: Our older cat Tigger has hyperthyroidism. First noted in October, 2016. Last September, he gradually stopped eating - he was hungry, and *interested* at meal times and would put his face into the food bowl, but wouldn't / couldn't eat. He would eat some of our human food, but pretty much none of the cat food. We thought at first that he might be having trouble with his teeth, and tried other (softer) foods, but they were no real help.Got him a dental appointment, but ... he lost a bunch of weight over a few days and still wasn't eating, so we took him to the vet. Diagnosis: hyperthyroid. Vet advised he was too weak for dental work (or much of *anything*) so we needed to try to get him eating. Vet said that a thyroidectomy (partial removal) was the treatment of choice for a long time, but now no one (no surgeons or clinics) is doing that procedure. Everyone has gone to a radioactive iodine treatment - basically, they inject the radioactive iodine in a carefully calculated amount, it settles in the thyroid where the radiation destroys some of the organ. You have to sequester your cat for weeks and store their poop for 90 days to let the radiation fade. Costs about $1500. Yikes, both for the cost and the ordeal. But before we (might) subject Tigger to any such stress, we needed to get his health back, so.... Vet gave us little pink pills that can help with the thyroid issue, but we should watch for side effects like strong facial itching and destructive scratching. Sure enough, the meds *worked* and Tigger started eating better, especially Science Diet...but after a couple of weeks he started scratching his face and getting a heavy, waxy build-up in his ears. We got him some steroids to help heal the damage he was doing to himself, but we just couldn't keep him on the pills. I had been researching alternatives to the surgery or the radiation treatment, and came across reviews of this product. Actual user reviews indicated that it works *sometimes* -- no surprise there, everyone's situation is different, and what works for one might not work for another...so I ordered a bottle to try it with Tigger. At the beginning of November, I started off giving him a drop for each two pounds of his weight, so four drops (he was a bit under 8 pounds). The effects were pretty much immediate: he started going after his regular food with gusto. Through experimentation, I discovered that he doesn't like the taste of the drops *full strength* - if I just drip in onto his food, then he'll reject the food after eating a part where the drops were. What I have been doing *with great success* is making a "gravy" by adding warm water to the residue in the bottom of a can of food, and stirring the drops into that, then I add that to his food...so he ends up with his salmon pate swimming in gravy or broth that has the drops mixed in. It has been working, at least as far as keeping him able to eat, in good spirits and gaining back some of his weight. HOWEVER - the vet warned us that one of the effects of hyperthyroidism is a ravenous appetite, and that seems to be where Tigger is going. He has been wanting breakfast, second breakfast (30 minutes later), elevenses, brunch, lunch, second lunch, dinner, second / third / fourth dinner (whatever he can talk us into). And he isn't gaining back all his weight....there still isn't as much cat there as there used to be. It is now June of 2017, and he's been getting the drops since last November. We will take him back to the vet to get his blood numbers checked again soon, and hopefully he'll be stable. Update: in October of 2019, we finally lost our Tigger. He was in pretty bad shape in October of 2016, and I credit these drops with keeping him going for three years. He was having a pretty good time until the last few weeks, so I call that a success story. We miss him still (now August, 2020). These drops must be pretty good stuff.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hi, can i put the drops into my cat's food or does it need to go straight into his mouth?**
A: Hello there,

Thank you for your question.

We usually suggest adding it to your pet's food, if they are eating, as this is the easiest way to administer it. If your pet is not eating, you could add it to a small amount of water or broth (an amount they will consume in one sitting). If you have to, you can administer directly to the mouth, but if you're going to do it that way, we would suggest measuring the dose into a separate syringe and mixing with some food or water before giving it to your pet. This makes it more palatable, and can avoid contaminating the product.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Thank you,
Tylor.

**Q: Does it come in a glass bottle? Not happy to find herbs in plastic bottles...**
A: Hello there,

Thank you for your question.

We use a BPA free PET plastic bottle for our tinctures. None of the formulas we use have a high acidity content, so there's not leeching into the product, and we've taken every measurable step required to ensure the herbs remain safe and effective within the bottles they're stored in. They actually hold their potency and are safe to use for 3-5 years in this packaging as well.

I hope this information is helpful for you! Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Thank you,
Pet Wellbeing Customer Care.

**Q: There seems to be thick black grease like substance on my dropper and lid..is that normal?**
A: Yes it is normal. I believe it is just a residual build up and in no way affects using the product.

**Q: How long does a 2 oz bottle last?**
A: Hi there,

Thank you for the question!

This supplement is administered according to your pet's weight, which means the length of time the bottle will last would be dependent on that. For an average sized cat (10 lbs), the bottle would last for about 118 days. If your pet weighs less, it will last longer, if their weight is greater than 10 lbs, it will last for a less time.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

Thank you,
Customer Care

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Helped my cats wellbeing!
*by A***I on March 13, 2023*

I wanted to give this product 5 stars, because the company is wonderful and the customer service is great. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because even though it helped improve the wellbeing of my cat a lot, unfortunately it did not help bring his thyroid levels down. Our 10 year old cat Oscar was diagnosed with Hyperthyroid and Kidney disease October/22. Both advances stages. This was very upsetting news. He gets regular yearly Vet checkups and his blood tests have all been good. The Vet put him on liquid Apelka ( Methimazole) 5 mg /day for his thyroid, and renal food for his CKD. After 5 days on this medicine he starts to scratch himself all over nonstop and vomited several times a day. He was loosing weight fast as he could not keep any food down. He then stopped all eating and drinking. We were so worried about him and thought he would die, so we rushed him back to the Vet. The Vet declared that he was too sick to live and wanted to put him down there and then. His blood work showed he was doing very poorly. Turns out he was allergic to the thyroid meds Apelka. Putting him down was out of the question. We wanted a second opinion from another Vet. Back at home I began researching everything I could on hyperthyroid in cats and found this product. Since we live in Sweden it was not possible to order this directly to us. Luckily I have family in the US who shipped the Thyroid Gold to us with express mail. We started slowly introducing the drops into his food. He had no problem with the bacon taste and seemed to like it. This was in November/22. We increased the drops to 4 morning and 4 night in his meals- full dose. Something amazing happened at day 5 of giving him the drops. Oscar started to perk up. His eyes were alert and bright and his mood had improved a lot, and he had less anxiety. He was not howling for food in the middle of the night anymore. ( before the thyroid gold drops we had to feed him several times a night). He seemed much calmer. The drops definitely seemed to worked wonders on his wellbeing. 2 weeks after initiation of the drops he was now eating really well and became playful, social and started purring again. He showed significant improvements in his wellbeing. His fur looked better too. We found a new Vet at a great clinic who really wanted to save Oscar and help us. Blood work on his thyroid levels were done again and it was still high at 179. We had now given him thyroid Gold for 4 months morning and night-full dose, but the numbers had not come down at all. He ate a lot, but was still very skinny. The Vet explained that at this point our only option if we want to save his life, was to treat his hyperthyroid with the Radio Iodine Treatment. We agreed to do this and he will receive the treatment in April/23. The Thyroid Gold helped our cat's overall wellbeing drastically. I highly recommend these drops. Maybe if we had started treating him in an earlier stage of his hyperthyroid disease, we could have managed the illness with this herbal remedy. For anyone who has a cat with early hyperthyroid, I would recommend to give these drops a try. Anyway,Oscar is a happier cat now and is behaving like his old self. We look forward to his full recovery. Thanks so much for making this wonderful product! Ps, Have also written a review about his excellent results from Pet Wellbeing- Kidney Support Gold.
