I ordered and assembled a pellet grill a couple of days ago. My wife threw a party needing me to smoke several briskets. I ordered these gloves after extensive reviews of both solid neoprene gloves versus neoprene and cloth mix. Both have excellent heat resistance factors but I chose the solid neoprene gloves over the mix gloves for a couple of reasons. I was concerned about the mixed gloves leaving fibers in the food I took off the grill (probably very minimal) but mainly the full neoprene gloves are easier to clean and dry without using a washing machine. I was impressed with their dexterity as they were not as stiff as I thought they would be but probably still a little stiffer than the mixed gloves. They work well for me and I recommend them.

Good bbq oven mitts. Don’t make the same mistake I made, get the waterproof ones for bbq. You can handle you hot mit no problem with these gloves.

My son recommended these. He uses them with his big green egg to handle hot coals. I use them to turn or reposition steaks on the charcoal grill and large pieces of meat on the smoker. With the smaller pieces of meat such as lamb chops or the average ribeye these gloves provide great heat protection but not much dexterity especially when trying to pick up a piece of meat from the grill. They work well for turning skewers and have enough dexterity for that. For brisket or whole racks of ribs or whole poultry they are excellent . You will always need a firm grip to avoid slipping and dropping the meat. The meat fat and anything used for basting makes things slippery but this is manageable once you know what to expect. I’ve never actually dropped anything They are easy to clean. I use dish soap and water on the outside. Occasionally a degreaser like simple green is helpful. You need to know that you will feel heat through the gloves as you reach into the grill but you’ll have lots of time and warning before it gets dangerous. Last advantage is that these are the longest gloves out there so they really protect your arm as well. A very good product with the qualifications I mentioned. Well worth the price.

I bought the 10” and they work extremely well. I use them to can all kind of jars and they’ve worked well. I will mention that they can get hot if you’re constantly moving jars in and out of hot water but they cool down quick. I would 100% buy them again.
