A MUST for smash burgers.
Of course for SMASH burgers you need a press to flatten those 3 oz balls of 80/20 ground chuck. This press works great. Smash them thin. They’ll shrink up and fatten a bit cooking. They ain’t smash burgers if you don’t get good crust. Leave them on hot cast iron for 1-2 min undisturbed. You’ll see the edges gettin brownish. Flip them and same on other side. Seldom takes more than 2 min a side. Sometimes less. The cover is great to cover your cheese added with one minute to go. Melts faster. Cover also great for covering individual burgers for spatter control. Glad I chose this set. The

Does the job well even if not what I really expected
Item is good quality and very much achieves it's goals. Having said that, and these really aren't problems, but more dealing with the reality of what was expected: the press wasn't as weighty as I had expected, but it really does do its job very well (first time I've bought one of these) and the cover (or 'Cheese Melting Dome') again seems a bit light, but it doesn't need to be heavy so it's all fine (oh and you had to screw the handle of the cover on, which again takes 2 minutes and isn't an issue - more informing people just in case it's an issue for them).
