Canpump CF 3647 G: 3600 psi @ 4.7 US gpm, 1-in Shaft Pressure Washer Pump

I was kind of shocked but this replacement pump was a simple, no frills, no snags, plug n play install. Kind of boring actually..in a very good way, i.e., there were no surprises, no mods to be done, and therefore, no memorable moments of blood, sweat, n tears drama involved. Cranked right up in synch with my existing Honda GX390. This pump replaced my General Pump TX 1510A which in comparison appeared to be superior in quality to this pump and I believe more expensive. Firstly, there's an obvious size and weight difference (if that means anything), where the General was larger and heavier, and also, the quality of the unloader on the General Pump which I know 1st hand down to the packing washer was a much more involved build when taken apart, but perhaps thats why it gave me so much grief, was so temperamental and unforgiving, and practically killed and nearly took down the Honda engine with it before it failed and blew the pump's crankcase open. Anyhow, lesson #1, don't rely on the unloader during downtime, just turn off the engine! So, its not the same pump as the General with all brass parts and with a much more substantial unloader probably reflected in the stats but you know what I don't care, I'm up and running, the price is right, it works great, and seems to be not as temperamental when it goes into recirc mode (trigger release downtime). It definitely seems gentler on the honda engine when placed in recirc mode, where with the General both pump and engine went audibly and visibly ballistic when there was any downtime or decrease in water flow which needed a quick adjustment in water flow. Point being, this leads me to think that the power output is perhaps nowhere near what the General engine put out but I'm unable to verify this. That would require a side to side comparison using same power setting dialed in using each pump's respective unloader. The one application where I likely need that extra power up front is jetting a difficult residential sewer line clog from inside the house without the fear of it backwashing into the workspace (the kitchen) which it did using this pump. But in all fairness, that couldve happened with the general too, I don't know, noone told me about that catastrophic possibility and how to prevent it from happening. Brutal experience. I'll throw that in, pressure jetting is not a cure-all or direct replacement for the sewer snake unless you have an astronomical psi at your disposal like the city trucks do. Snake then jet. For those of you doing a ground up install, this did not come with any bolts nor the easy-to-lose little metal axle rectangular slot key that marries engine to pump. Also, to alleviate concer, the shape of the bell housing (chambered area around the axle) where it interfaces directly to the engine and bolts on was different in that it was more of a trapezoidal shape unlike the square shape bolt pattern found on the General but universal fit it was and all the right holes lined up with no issues. It does have its own built in inline venturi soap dispensing inlet (post-unloader valve) but, it did NOT come with a thermal relief valve which has so far seemed useless to me anyway, as it never was utilized/engaged/popped-off while I watched the General crankcase explode while the engine kept running freeing itself of the shackles (gotta love the Honda). But the pump's relief valve definitely showed no signs of relief as I would have expected the high temps generated during this dramatic jaw-dropping, and wand-dropping moment to produce some sort of visible steam/water/or gasping of both out of the temp relief valve, but nada. I've read that its a desperate too little, too late, last-cigarette, last resort valve. Nonetheless I xplanted it from the general to this pump with perfect fit. The in/out fittings on this pump might need modifying depending on your existing accessories. I like to make my in and out fittings all male, which at the cost of convenience is my insurance and way of idiot proofing the pump from the possible trapped air or water after finishing up, therefore allowing the pump to burp and bleed out whenever it wants to, on its own terms, eliminating standing water and theoretically preventing airlock from happening hopefully allowing for a trouble free startup the next time i hand crank the engine using the pull. Lastly, the oil level indicator is not as cool looking or as easy to read as on the general but keeps me vigilant with a closer eye as I have to do a double take on that very crucial oil level. As for the longevity of this pump I can't answer that but all in all, up to now its been a great replacement pump.

I use this pump every weekend pressure washing 3 to 4 dump trucks, and during the week also if I have a job finished up & needs washing(decks, patios, driveways, etc). It's perfect for an entry level of heavy duty! The unit turning the pump is a cheap motor so I did go up with the HP but only to match the torque! The factory unloader valve holds the unit back from its capabilities. I strongly suggest buying one that has the bypass hose on it! The pump comes alive then with more pressure & most definitely more gallons per minute which is crucial when washing heavy equipment! Very easy to install & bolts right up without any hassle or misalignment! When the time comes & I need to replace it, I'm buying the same one! 3647G!!! And for $250+tax, you will not find this quality with these specs in any other pumps! It's the best cheapest pump on the market for the price

The good news is this pump does have a separate unloader which is bolted to the pump. You will some day have to replace the supplied unloader configuration. Unloaders always fail before a well maintained pump. This is model DBC-1510a 4.8 gpm @ 3600 psi made buy Zhejiang Danau Machinery Co., Ltd in China. This is a very good commercial Chinese made pump. The unloader and water inlet assembly can always be removed and converter to a separate unloader valve with return tubing and a separate water inlet. just like the big boy pumps- CAT/GIANT/etc. To maintain the proper pressure and flow use nozzle size #5.0 but no smaller than a #4.5 orifice, any thing smaller and you will over pressure the pump and damage it. I run this pump on a BS Vanguard 297cc 9hp motor. This pump can be powered by a 11hp motor with no problem and a 390 cc would just be cruising for this pump. The manufacturer does state a 13 hp motor in the specs to drive the pump. Happy pressure washing!!!

I purchased this pump because it’s rated for 4.7 gpm and 3600 psi… I wanted more flow than the standard 4 gpm. I was pleasantly surprised that the pump pressure is 4200 psi with the trigger off and 3800 psi with the trigger on using a 15 hp 420cc engine. I suspect the pump is pushing closer to 5 gpm at those pressures which is exactly what I want.

I could not find the, “problem with item” button on the Amazon page. I looked forever. However I am not sure if I’d like to issue a return as of yet. The pump came with oil already in it. But I was lead to understand based on the, “description and answered questions” that the pump did not come with oil Installed? I am afraid to run it with the oil that is in it. Furthermore, for those that are wondering. The pump does not come with the bolts needed to bolt directly onto a Honda GX390. Or at least not the one that I have. Mine had an original, “Comet Z4040” on it. The bolt pattern is not the same as this item. Thus I could not, “reuse” the bolts that were already on it. I had to use, COarse Thread 3/8” bolts. I had them already, they were about 1-1/2” in length. After doing this, I was ready to roll. Except for the oil already present in my pump. That, is my primary concern as of now.

Very easy to instal, I tested psi and it was exactly what it says immediately upon startup. Very powerful increases my GPM. I recommend for Honda Gx390 replacements.

After the first use it started making an awful sound, checked the oil and it was empty! The oil was full before I started this 3 hour job. Refilled the oil and it works but still sounds awful, and I have to refill before every use.

I bought this as a replacement for my Honda power washer and it was a perfect fit. I’ve had it on for 2 years and it has held up very well.

Upgraded my old pump as it needed a repack and all I gotta say is this pump is amazing.14.5 hp engine. Put my gauge on it and it’s making 4100 psi. Tested my surface cleaner and wow. It has so much more GPM you can really feel the difference. Also the fact that canpump is local to me is even better for parts if need be. But this pump looks well built. Lots of replacement orings and a complete parts sheet if needed. Highly recommend!!

Incredible pump so far. Way more pressure than advertised. I would say it puts out around 4000psi +. Just make sure you have the hp to run the girl. I have it on a 6.6 hp diamond/Honda washer.
