1. This brand is REALLY amazing! My first purchase from this company was in 2019–I had bought a basic radio alarm clock from them back then. It is great and it still works today.. I just wanted a more updated radio alarm clock (with more features attached). 2. This particular style is everything I was looking for and more! It’s easy to use— the buttons are not complicated at all! 3. The regular alarm “beep” is NOT Piercing at all! This a BEAUTIFUL THING since it woke me up peacefully WITHOUT HURTING MY EARS. IT DID NOT STARTLE ME which is GREAT! 4. The dimmer feature and the light at the bottom of the alarm is nice. It’s not too bright and you can set it without having to worry about it being too bright or dim … it is not even a bother. 5. The time zone switch… I love this! I think it’s great— I am an online graduate student in a different time zone than where I reside. This alarm clock makes it effortless to switch between the time zone I’m currently in and the time zone of my university. This matters to me because I have assignments that are due at certain times on certain days , but on their time zone (not mine). For this clock, all you have to access this feature, is click a button on the top left corner, hold it , and then choose a number depending on the time zone you are in /want. I recommend setting up the clock to your time zone , then switching it afterwards (if you need a different time zone). 6. I like the added feature of charging. I like that I can place my iPhone at night on it and then I can easily grab it when I need to check something. 7. Overall, I would say this product is worth the money. It is as described and setup is seamless. It fits perfect by your window seal (where I have it ) or even a nightstand. The blue color is relaxing and even charming. You can switch between Bluetooth, aux, radio, alarm beep, and sleep mode. You can charge devices on top and you can add a charging cord on the back if needed. Final verdict: I couldn’t be happier with this purchase! It’s definitely a keeper!

I like that it charges my iPhone 12 mini right through its thick silicon case. The sound is good enough for a clock radio but doesn’t have any bass to speak of. My old iHome sounded much better/fuller. The USB on the back has come in very handy for charging or powering many other devices. The LED light on the bottom is a convenient way to transition to bedtime while I’m still relaxing or laying things out for the next day. The Bluetooth does have an audible and somewhat loud jingle tone when connecting so one may wish to connect earlier in the evening if you use a nature sound app and have someone crashing earlier than you do. When your phone is in the charging pad, you can push on the top of your phone to adjust volume or advance/rewind the track selection. Nice design there. One negative thing is that while wirelessly charging your phone, a light blinks on the front display at full brightness no matter what dimmer setting is selected (and the auto dimmer is quite nice, by the way). Kind of a bone-headed design. I solved this by putting a small sticker over that light on the display. It’s still obvious when you place your phone on the charger pad because your phone lights up and shows it’s charging.

This worked great for several months, but because you must scroll through ALL 20 radio presets before getting back to the 1st one, you end up hitting the button repeatedly and fast. This overwhelmed the radio. Everything stopped working (except phone charging) and I got a “P-6” reading where the time should have been. I thought I’d have to throw it away, but unplugging, plus using a tiny screwdriver to disengage the battery compartment at the back, successfully reset the device. PROS: — excellent brightness setting controls, which magically auto-dim to nearly nothing when i turn off my bedside lamp. I’m a very light-sensitive sleeper, and this is feature is crucial! — nice phone charging ability, which worked even though my ring holder keeps my XR phone from laying flat. — compact size, decent looks, though nothing to brag about. Sound quality is fine for me. — low price for a basic device with some key features. CONS: — when you set the phone on the charger, you lose the radio ability. If you charge overnight in this position, you will wake to the beep alarm instead of the radio alarm. These two downsides are more annoying than I thought they would be. (Getting a charging stand as a gift has resolved this…) — too many presets, and no good way to choose between them. I’d rather have 5-6 and be able to select with one touch (not 20). I’ll get around this by loading my top choices multiple times. — buttons make noise when pushed, are physically basic, “old school,” not very modern or sleek, definitely not quiet.

This is way nicer than I expected. I’ve not had an Emerson anything for years. It solidly built and will go with any decor. Its ease of use and setup are amazing. The sound quality is exceptional. The radio is crystal clear. I can wirelessly charge my phone without removing the case. I’m loving the auto dimming features of the large clock numbers. The price was a little more than many but it is a good value. It’s light years ahead of the crowd. I’m probably going to purchase one more.

I'm bummed and feel a bit stupid......I realize now that I should have paid more attention to the reviewers who complained here about the wireless charging dying, but I took a chance anyway....big mistake. The wireless charging stopped working 11 days after this clock radio arrived, after only wireless charging three times! All three times my phone charged to 100% from approx. 30% within about 90 minutes. One time the cover was off-two times the cover was on. The charging functioned exactly the same, just like my Samsung branded wireless charger. When I was looking for a new clock radio because my many years old Timex Indiglo clock radio's display completely faded, I found the Emerson line of clock radios....I really liked the features of the Emerson ER100401, especially the wireless charging, USB port, the blue nightlight, and the blue display. I originally considered the similar model ER100301 because it also has the blue nightlight and display, but doesn't have the wireless charging, and why pay more for something that's going to stop working anyway. I could always plug in my phone's charger to the USB port on the back. I'm positive the problem isn't my phone (Samsung Galaxy S10) because the wireless charging still works with my Samsung branded wireless charger....cover on or not. So far, the other features that I've checked on this Emerson, all seem to work, for now, including the display, nightlight, and radio functions. I rarely listen to terrestrial radio anymore, but do use it as the alarm when needed, otherwise, I use my phone's alarm. As of writing this review (4/23/21) I still need to make sure the alarm, bluetooth, and USB port actually work as they should. Bottom line, do not buy this clock radio ER100401 for the wireless charging, because it's completely useless, or will be not too long after you start using it. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to return this unit. It's only a 5-dollar difference in the price for the non-wireless charging model, and if all the other features end up working as they should, I've basically paid 5-dollars more for the non-wireless charging model ER100301.

I searched for a clock like this exhaustively and read the reviews, hoping the flaws others reported would somehow not be a problem for me. Alas, I was wrong. Strike one: Plugged it in and Smartset did not happen. Had to manually enter date and time. When this is a main feature, you shouldn’t fail at it! Strike two: When setting the dimmer to low or auto in a dark room, the time display blinks on and off. The CSR I talked to said it’s hard for customers to read the display at the lowest brightness and this helps to read it. EDIT 12/17/21: It turns out that the clock blinking while dim was due to the backup battery needing to be changed. Once I put the new one in it stopped doing that. So the CSR had NO idea what he was talking about! /END EDIT. At least the levels of dimness are good, and the lowest setting is pretty dim. Strike three: When charging your phone, the charging icon blinks and does NOT dim when using the dimmer. It’s really bright and really distracting in a dark room! It turns solid when the phone is fully charged. You cannot dim it. The brightness totally defeats the purpose of the dimmer! So now there are two things blinking and they’re blinking at different rates! I cannot understand the logic behind this at all. Strike four: Yes, Emerson doesn't put a plastic battery shield in the backup battery, and when I plugged it in the low/dead battery light started blinking immediately because of course it was tapped out. So it'll keep blinking til I get around to buying a replacement. One other complaint: You preset what radio station the alarm will play by tuning in to the station you want before your alarm goes off. So if you listened to a different radio station at bedtime using the sleep timer, that’s the station the alarm will play. If you want to wake up to a different station you’ll have to change to that before you go to sleep, which kind of defeats the purpose of the sleep timer function. These issues could be deal-breakers for you. They almost were for me, but I put a piece of black removable electrical tape over the charging icon, which works very well and isn't even noticeable since the clock face is black too. But now I have to pick up my phone to see if it's done charging. The positive features are great (fast Qi charging, big display, good-sounding speakers which can get loud, Bluetooth, compact size, dual alarms, compact size, decent radio reception, and most importantly for me, the 7/5/2 alarm setting- to choose which days of the week the alarm will work). I could not find anything else that has all these so in the end I made compromises. The pros for this clock are great, but the STUPID cons somewhat outweigh them. I wish Emerson would correct these issues, because then they'd have the perfect clock.

Love it and would highly recommend it

Having the same problem as another reviewer: Copy and pasted- Plugged it in and set the time and alarms. All seemed well until the alarm went off in the morning. I pressed the snooze button and now the display is permanently showing the radio station and no sound or time display. None of the buttons are functioning at all. I even tried to unplug and remove the backup battery for over an hour however when I replace the battery and plug back in it still just shows the radio station with no sound, no time display, and buttons are still not working. Update, I took out the memory saver battery and left it for awhile. Put it back in, and it works fine ever since. Just don't move it, because the thing gets confused. The only crappy thing is not being able to use the radio and phone charger at the same time. Otherwise, it's doing its job. Also a nice nightlight in my bathroom.

Me encantó este radio reloj de Emerson. Tenia otro de la misma marca por eso compré este. Éste ya esta más moderno con funciones actuales como el bluetooh. Tiene un mejor sonido y más me gustó porque tiene la carga dual, inalambrico y con usb. Lo compré para mi casa pero comprare otro para mi oficina por lo útil que es. Le compré una batería para que conserve la hora pero eso no fue problema para mi. Lo recomiendo.

Tenía buenas expectativas de este producto, pero tuve la mala suerte de que me llegara dañado, con la batería descargada y que la carga inalámbrica fuera demasiado lenta, cuando la descripción del producto dice carga rápida.
