Platinum Fountain Pen Fountain Pen Converter Silver 700A#9

This thing is very nice I prefer it over the Lamy safari z27 converter and the pilot con 40. It moves very smoothly and just overall feels great to use. I have not had it leak. This one may feel expensive but I do think you get a high quality converter for the price. It looks nice too which doesn't hurt. I have had no issues with inflow and it is a good weight.

Works great for the platinum preppy to fill with ink. Holds a decent amount and isn't hard to fill.

Gives better options to refill platinum as other comparable pens.

This converter was purchased for my Platinum Plaisir. It fit perfectly as it is an official Platinum converter. It hold a decent amount of ink and is easy to clean.

I still have the first one. Works great. I use them for Platinum 3776 Century, Plaisir, Prefounte, and Preppys. These are more expensive than the Preppy and the Prefounte - but the pen plus converter is still cheaper than a Lamy Safari without a converter. I still have my first ones from ten years ago. I just add more as I discover other ink colors I want in the rotation, or if I want to keep a pen stashed somewhere to jot a note. The pens work even weeks or months later. These are workhorses; easy to clean; no maintenance (maybe silicone grease once a year), and keep up with flow and capacity from <EF> (0.2 mm) through <M> stub (0.5 mm). Wider than that, I just switch to the Lamy Safari's 1.1 mm stub.

Like any plastic converter this can get sticky sometimes and the piston feels like it's jumping a little. Not the biggest deal. Works just fine. You get a decent fill the first time and tipping the pen to face the sky, pushing the air out then filling the rest will give you a good full fill. I don't use my Century 3776 nearly enough so the last time I used this was the middle of last year (but the pen still writes every time I uncap it - guess that slip and seal mechanism really does work).

You cannot miss with Platinum converters for Platinum fountain pens.

Please do not buy this pen and act shocked by thebway it works. It is fine nib. That means it makes delicate lines and requires very little effort to write. If you remember the 1950s and early 1960s this was a popular pen set with a fountain pen and a ball pen. It came with a brass and wood holder. The replication is superb. I'm so glad I have it. If it came in more colors I'd buy them. If you want to see some, watch season 1 episodes 2 and 3 of Perry Mason. One of the suspects have the pens on his desk.
