Best digital photo frame - This is the one you want to give as a gift
I gave this frame to my wife as a gift for Christmas and it got a way better response than I anticipated. My wife and kid immediately fell in love with it. The display quality is great - not just great for a digital frame but genuinely great. I've seen other family members receive no name or off brand frames in recent years and the screens always look TERRIBLE. Bad viewing angles and colors, brightness and contrast which are just glaring to look at. Just over all bad displays. This Aura frame's screen is the centerpiece of the device and thankfully it delivers and impresses easily. I like that the device is cloud connected (even while I try to reduce my reliance on cloud services) for the simple fact that Aura app makes it extremely simple and convenient to add and manage photos/videos on the device. I do wish it had offline, onboard storage as an option but in my experience you end up adding a few hundred pictures at the beginning and maybe 1 or 2 more times and then the photo frame is just full of 5 year pictures with new new content. Aura makes it incredibly easy to add new content and gifting it is where it really shines. If you're giving this as a gift, you have the ability to upload photos to Aura's servers, via the app, and when the recipient activates the frame, they will automatically download all the photos you preloaded their frame with. This is a great experience for the recipient because they can have hundreds or 1000s of pictures viewable on the device within 5 minutes of setup without any work on their end. The owner can manage who else may add photos to frame remotely so this allows different family members or friends to send photos to your frame - great feature in my opinion. Photos can be uploaded via mobile app (We've only used Apple devices so far), SMS/MMS, or email. This is pretty flexible and allows anyone with a photo capable phone share photos regardless of mobile ecosystem. Email is another nice OS agnostic option. I'd preferably like to use a web site but didn't see that as an option. Please be aware you run the risk of the photo frame either being bricked or not able to add more content if Aura goes out of business or discontinues support for this device and/or their app. My only gripe with the device is that it cannot be wall mounted. Aura does make other frames which may be wall mounted but they are larger and more expensive.

Not just for phone pictures... Superior Digital Frame!
This maybe a long review, but I think it's important to mention as others may be trying to do what I had to do. Downloading tons of "old digital photos" that aren't easily accessible on your phone. This is the 2nd digital frame I've owned. I bought the Aura Carver. The first frame I owned was the Skylight, which was essentially the "only show in town" at the time for being able to instantly transfer photos to your frame via email. I was tasked with downloading nearly 4,000 photos taken many, many years ago (20-25 years ago to be exact) with those older digital cameras that weren't exactly cheap at the time. Price wise. These "cheap" digital cameras were used before cell phones existed, for a quick history lesson. :) I downloaded all these pictures on a thumb drive and plugged it into the external USB slot in the Skylight frame. Unfortunately, It would only transfer around 100 to 150 photos out of that whole bunch. Due to larger file sizes, formatting issues or other reasons... this was just the case. Other than that issue, the frame worked fine. Then, due to recent problems with my Skylight frame after upgrading modems, and them not offering any solutions other than a $20.00 voucher for a new Skylight frame, I decided to go with a different brand out of spite. :) I'm glad I did. After opening the package after Christmas (2023) I began the daunting task of downloading the same batch of photos previously mentioned. I plugged my thumb drive into my PC to accomplish this. You can also do all tasks on your computer as well as using the Aura phone app. I prefer to use my computer, rather than on my phone. I'm old school that way. Long story short, I was able to transfer nearly 1,300 photos from the old batch. I could've transferred all 4,000 but I deleted duplicates, out of focus, and just bad pictures in general. My folks became a bit over-zealous taking pictures back in the day knowing you didn't have to take them to the drug store to be developed. :) I was able to transfer up to 500 photos at a time on the Aura interface deleting the bad ones and downloading the keepers. Granted, this took me about 3 or so hours to do, but it was over 4,000 photos to sift through! I was able to do this without a hick'-up using the Aura website. Their software condensed the photos into manageable sizes automatically. I was extremely impressed. Picture quality was as good as it could be for old cameras, but I was mostly impressed with how quickly I was able to accomplish this and the ease of doing it as well. This review is probably geared more towards people who are attempting to download old photos that remain in a folder collecting dust in your computer somewhere. I've also downloaded current photos from my phone which was also a very simple process. They look much better on the frame than the old photos do, as would be expected. They say it's unlimited cloud storage so you can download to your hearts content. They also include video footage which you have to pay extra for with other digital frame companies. I would imagine these have to be short and sweet. I haven't tried this yet. Overall, I am extremely pleased that I went with Aura. Based on my experience and the positive reviews I've read... I think you'll be pleased as well.

Great gift for distant family members
I love this product, it is super easy to use, has a good screen clarity. It has been very reliable. And I have purchased one for and aged relative that has been moved to assisted living. You do need to have a continuous wi fi connection.

Easy way to enjoy old photos and new ones! Great customer service!
UPDATE 2 (May 2026)! I received the new power cord yesterday and connected it this morning. It is ALIVE once again! Yay! I really missed the frame over the last week or so and am thrilled to have it back. Great customer service (even if it was a bot) and would highly recommend this frame. I just updated my star rating from 4 to 5 because of the customer service. FYI - I have 1,368 photos (and counting) available on this frame. UPDATE (May 2026)! I used the chatbot on Aura’s website. It had me try a few troubleshooting things I had already tried and then it walked me through a free order for a new power cord. I’ll update again when I receive it. I've purchased 4 of these between Dec 2023/Jan 2024, with two for personal use (home, office) and two for gifts. I love how easy it is to send pictures to the frame (or multiple frames at once) and I enjoy watching the various pictures shuffle, bringing back lots of great memories. The one caveat is that one of my frames - in my office - stopped working earlier this week. First, it appeared the Wifi got wonky and the frame couldn't download the next set of photos, but when I tried unplugging/replugging it back in - both from cable on back and from wall outlet - it won't power up at all. I've tried different outlets, etc. and several days later, it's still dark. I will reach out to customer service next.

Great Product. would buy again in the future.
Probably one of the best products I bought for christmas? This was a bit expensive but my family needed a digital picture frame so I've got them for christmas. This is great! Uploading pictures are easy. There are NO CAPACITY / STORAGE LIMIT. I mean that's just awesome. You have to use their app to manage pictures. The app works great. What is the greatest feature is that you can remotely send the pictures to this frame. If you have parents or grandparents you should buy one and send this to them. You can shoot pictures to their picture frame from far away. They will enjoy seeing you and your family happy moments. I am buying 2 more for that reason. This product may not be GREAT if you have less than 100 pictures to display. The slide show will go through 100 pictures in short period. This is more for folks with children with 1000's of pictures.

The Gold Standard for Gifting (Especially for the Non-Tech Savvy)
I’ve tested several digital frames over the years, but the Aura 10.1" HD is the first one that feels like a premium piece of home decor rather than a tablet glued to a plastic stand. If you are looking for a gift for parents, grandparents, or long-distance family, this is the one to beat. The "Gift Mode" is a Game Changer The standout feature for me is the ability to set it up without ever opening the box. There is a unique QR code on the packaging that allows you to: Pre-set the WiFi (optional). Pre-load a "Welcome" message. Invite the whole family to start dumping photos into the frame before the recipient even unwraps it. When my mother-in-law plugged it in, it immediately started a slideshow of her grandkids. No "tech support" phone calls required. Display Quality & Aesthetics The 10.1" HD display uses a matte finish that is incredibly effective. Unlike glossy screens, this doesn't have a harsh glare or look like a TV sitting on your mantel. The colors are calibrated to look like a high-quality physical print. It also has a built-in light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness and turns the screen off entirely when the room is dark. The App Experience The Aura app (iOS/Android) is streamlined and, crucially, has unlimited cloud storage. There are no hidden subscription fees or "premium" tiers just to upload more photos. You can sync it directly with Google Photos or iCloud, and you can even send short 30-second video clips (which play with sound if you tap the touch bar). Pros: Aesthetic Design: The "Mat" border and textured frame look high-end and blend with any decor. Zero Subscriptions: You buy the frame, and that’s it. No monthly "cloud fees." Dual Orientation: It works in both portrait and landscape; the software automatically crops or pairs photos to fill the screen. Privacy: It’s a closed loop—only the people you invite can add photos. Cons to Consider: No Battery: It must stay plugged in to work (though the cord is high-quality and braided). No Touchscreen: You control it via a "Touch Bar" on the top of the frame. This keeps fingerprints off the glass, but there is a slight learning curve for some. Final Verdict: There is a reason Wirecutter ranks this so high. It solves the biggest hurdle of digital frames: the setup friction. It’s elegant, the app is "set it and forget it," and the image quality is top-tier. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to stay connected with family without the hassle of social media.

PROs and CONs - Best gift she didn’t know she wanted!
I wish half stars were a thing, because this frame is a solid 4.5. When it arrived, I was already impressed by the quality of the box and packaging—always a good sign. Once set up, it became clear this is a really great photo frame with just a couple of small quirks. I bought this for my wife for Christmas, and she told me it’s the best gift I’ve ever given her that she didn’t know she wanted. It wasn’t even on her radar, yet it somehow became one of her favorite gifts of the year. (I’m still riding that win.) PROS: The frame looks great, the picture is bright and sharp, and it’s highly customizable. You can crop photos, choose how many appear per screen, adjust slideshow speed, and generally tweak things to your liking. Adding photos is ridiculously easy. The app is very user-friendly, and the touch panel on top of the frame was a nice surprise. You can literally snap a photo on your iPhone and send it to the frame like you’re texting it—no exaggeration. I’ve sent photos to the frame while hiking in the woods, and they showed up in the slideshow later that night. Magic. You can also invite contributors, so others can add photos too. My wife invited me, and I promptly added about 100 photos like it was my job. Another great feature: the frame automatically dims or shuts off when the lights go out and adjusts brightness based on the room. The size fits perfectly with our other frames, and the build feels solid and durable. CONS: You might be wondering how there could be any cons after all that praise. There aren’t many, but one stands out. You can’t delete photos from the app—you have to scroll through them on the frame itself using the touch panel. It works, but it feels like an unnecessary scavenger hunt and should really be an app feature. Also, while photo transitions are usually smooth, every now and then there’s a slight jitter or glitch during transitions. Not a deal-breaker, just noticeable. Overall: These cons are minor, and the frame is an absolute bargain for what you get. It also plays Live Photos and videos with sound, which is genuinely impressive. If deleting photos were easier, this would be a no-brainer 5-star review.

Great product and supprt
So firstly, this came with a US plug. I then contacted support in the UK who have posted a new UK plug for me - amazing service. As for the frame itself, it is easy to use, easy for friends and family (you have allowed) to add photos and it looks great.
