Swanson Tool Co S0107 "Big 12" 12-Inch Speed Square Layout Tool with Blue Book

Really going to be a handy stair layout tool. Needed to watch a video to figure out how to set it up. Should work much faster than layout with a rafter square. Cool stuff.

Great quality square as one would expect from Swanson. This item shipped quickly, was packaged well and is exactly as described. I use this for stair lay out, framing, squaring up cabinets and sometimes I use it by placing the flat edge against a piece and hammering the other end to drive parts into place and it has taken the beating I give it.

Love the old world quality built into this. Also own the smaller Speed Squares of the same brand.

Overall, this is a solid, heavy square. Not sure if I will ever use the extra pieces, as I am more of a DIY guy. As seen in the photo, quality control on printing isn't the best but it likely won't affect it's use.

This square has been around longer than my Grandfather, and I'm a grandfather. Cheap and accurate. I use it for most constructions and some woodworking.

This is a duplicate of my review of the 7" Swanson speed square. They're both made of the same aluminum alloy, both equally sturdy, both use the same embossed lettering, etc. The only difference is the size and the fact that the 12" comes with a removable layout bar for faster setups. I recommend them both. This is a very good value for a low-end speed square. It's square! great for aligning power saw blades with tops and fences. This is not a precision cut tool, but it does what it's intended to do. I also have the 12" Swanson SO107 12-inch Speed Square, which is also inexpensive and useful. I have actually found the 12" to be more useful in my wordworking, especially with blade alignment, etc. Both come with a booklet that describes use for framing, stairs, rafters, etc. They are both made of thick 3/16" aluminum alloy and are very sturdy. The 7" is easier to carry around, but I use the 12" more for basic woodworking. Recommended

Me es muy útil. De buen tamaño para usarlo también como guía para sierra circular asi como también su grosor es ancho ya que he visto otras escuadras rápidas muy delgadas. también es útil para que asiente bien la madera cuando vas a poner un tejabán. Estoy satisfecho con el producto.

La utilizzo principalmente per verificare l'ortogonalità o la messa a 45 gradi mentre taglio il legno e fa il suo mestiere egregiamente. Robusta e spessa, non flette ed è molto comoda, inoltre ha diverse funzionalità come descritto nel libretto di istruzioni allegato (solo in inglese). L'unica pecca per noi europei è che le misure riportate sono quelle imperiali e non metriche decimali.

A fantastic square from a brand I trust. Perfectly square accurate Also works really well as a circular saw guide fence. I also have the other swanson squares and I wouldn’t want to be without them

Very useful triangle. It is big so if you are looking for something easy to handle better go for the smaller version. Because it is pretty thick I find myself using it as a guide for my circular saw as well which gives easy and very straight cuts.
